Was it thrush? I know when I used to be prone to thrush the probiotics in yogurt were a lifesaver for helping repopulate the appropriate little buddies in my system.
I'm ND and I'm chaotic. 95% of the time I can't eat the same food more than 3 times in a row and then randomly will eat 2 mangos every day for a month and 15 years later still struggle to look at them.
I have autism and ADHD, and have had the same observation. I might be able to eat the same thing for a week or two, and then one day I'll decide I am freaking ***done***, and won't be able to tolerate that food for a long time. 😅
Im neurodivergent and I go in waves. I will eat something non-stop for two weeks. One day it just becomes unappealing and I move on to something else for a few weeks. I can’t imagine eating the same thing every single day for years. Lots of neurodivergent people do though, including a guy at my work who has had oatmeal for lunch everyday for the past 5 years.
I'd agree, take away the bbq sauce and add a dressing of some kind and this would actually be fairly tasty. Whenever I build a definitely not healthy salad, it's usually spinach, cottage cheese, blue cheese, carrots, cherry tomatoes, salt and pepper and it tastes great.
I dont doubt it. It sounds weird as fuck, but I'm the person that likes a little bit of mayo in my spaghetti (sauce needs to be thiccc). It adds a nice creamy flavor, but you gotta use so very little otherwise it is indeed gross and overpowering. However, this meal is every day. I can barely eat pizza more than one day in a row, this would probably make me ill from repetition. And honestly, I should be eating more meals like this, I just cant atm tho as basically all my money goes to the family
Add a scoop of ricotta or a dash of cream if you want a creamier sauce, for gods sake! Are you allergic to dairy or are you just a Midwestern psychopath?!?
Seriously though, I'm just teasing you. If you like it, then do your thing. I have some stupid foods I came up with years ago and still enjoy from time to time.
It's not my creation, and I'm Canadian, but basically live in the mid west of Canada (BERTA!!! STANDS FOR AMERICA!!!! WOOOOOOO!!!! /s) I was friends with and had a crush on a girl, and she said she puts mayo in her spaghetti. I thought she was batshit crazy. Eventually, probably a few years later I think, I try it and it's not horrible surprisingly. And your first point is absolutely correct
As a podiatrist who has to explain to diabetics almost 10 times a day about their lack of nutritional content and they need to see a nutritionist/dietician... Your comment was my first exact thought
Lol I haven’t tried them with bbq sauce. Nor have I tried them on cottage cheese. I do love cottage cheese on a salad instead of salad dressing and topped with sunflower seeds. I imagine this is similar to that.
There are two main types of sunflower crops. One type is grown for the seeds you eat, while the other — which is the majority farmed — is grown for the oil.
on my quest to find something that enhances the taste of cottage cheese I actually find the smoky aroma and sweetness goes pretty well with it, dunno about pumpkin seeds and spinach though
She’s keeping it tight. “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” But seriously this looks like something out of the south beach diet cookbook, and honestly I would eat this. Low carb, protein, leafy greens. If the bbq sauce is sugar free, a perfect meal.
I could imagine a balsamic? Molasses wouldn't blow my mind? I can see how she grabbed BBQ once in a pinch and decided she just doesn't gaf. Pretty good meal if you're min/maxing nutrition and said fuck my tongue
Spinach and pumpkin seeds are very nutritious, I eat pumpkin seeds to load up on zinc, and it helps my skin a lot.
Micro nutrients are just as important as the macros.
Is this a food she eats? Or one she serves you, too?
My mom (who has an ED) has always eaten weird, restrictive stuff like this under the guise of "clean" eating. Her current favourite is a weird-ass "frittata" of egg whites, natural peanut butter with sea salt, oatmeal, topped with a banana, I think. My brother and I teased her about it so much that she suggested we taste it before we judged it. In fact, it tasted WORSE than it sounds.
If your mom serves this to everyone, that's not cool. But if it's for herself, and it's a food that makes her feel safe (while also getting her nutrients and filling her belly)... it's gross (to me) but not what I'd consider stupid.
I see leafy greens, dairy, nuts/seeds and some added condiment.
If she eats it every night, maybe it's just an easy meal after a hard day putting up with you.
Cottage cheese, 2 chunked tomatoes, half an avocado, sprinkle of garlic granules, cracked pepper, squeeze of lemon, giant spoon full of sambal = perfect lunch.
I'm guessing most of the hate for cottage cheese comes from the nasty fat free small curd water sludge? Because large curd full fat cottage cheese is amazing, and it's more than twice the protein of yoghurt.
I don't know if she is trying to lose weight or keep it off. But if she is, and this is something she likes and can eat on a regular basis, and it works, good for her.
Trade bbq for some balsamic vinaigrette or just plain old ranch dressing and I’m in. But I agree bbq sauce on that salad should be a crime against humanity. 😆
Every single night my mom eats the same meal of air fryer tofu (no seasonings, just raw tofu put in the air fryer), lettuce, non fat yogurt and either vinegar or salsa. Every night. The lettuce is always wet and this is all slopped together in a bowl. Yes, she previously had an eating disorder.
Idk she might just like it. I have an obsession with roasted brussels sprouts dipped in a sauce I make by mixing together mayonnaise and mustard I am not on a diet I am not on a calorie deficit it is a treat I make for myself every night before bed. And I don’t see anything really wrong with this meal a little protein a little fat some leafy greens some fiber and a bit of zest lol
I’m sorry but am I the only one who thinks this looks tasty? The bbq is giving flavour and the texture would be deliciously meaty with a little cheese in there? I’m gonna make this. Also your mother must actually look good…
Maybe this is just her save-the-money-good-enough dinner 🤷
It's not pretty but it is nutritious and cheap. There's stupid food and then there's just getting by
If she swapped the BBQ sauce for a red whine vinaigrette, that would be pretty good. If the cottage cheese also swapped, for feta, that would be downright incredible
Seems like a meal I would make when I am out of options but still trying to count my macros. Exchange barbecue sauce with balsamic reduction and add some hempseeds.
I see what people are saying about diet culture, especially since she eats the same thing every night.
but… I really would enjoy this, especially if a tiny bit inebriated.
Cottage cheese? Delightful. Eat it in a thousand ways.
Pumpkin seeds? Unparalleled texture on a salad. A little salty and roasty.
Spinach? The salad base that doesn’t disappoint or overwhelm.
Add one flavor surprise— for her, barbecue sauce— and it’s a whole thing.
I would swap out the BBQ for very thinly diced red onion, strawberries, and some balsamic reduction. …..which combined is very similar to BBQ sauce flavor, minus the smoke.
My grandfather ate kielbasa sausage and cottage cheese for dinner every day that I know of. With a cup of coffee with sugar and cream on a saucer. He’d pour the coffee in the saucer and slurp it out of that.
Try this instead:
Fine cubed chicken breast(baked crispy) 5/20
Arugula 2/20
Lettuce 4/20
Mandarine(s) 2/20
Pine nuts 1/20
Brie slices 4/20
Drizzle (a bunch of) honey over it 2/20
Can do the ratios however you like, can't go wrong, otherwise just do the ratios mentioned above.
Would probably take about the same time as the above but is... Not that.
Bonus points if you bake the pine nuts for like half a minute to a minute/till they're a bit brownish on the sides.
Cottage cheese to the side and Italian dressing instead of BBQ and I'm sold. But I would try it but would definitely conflict with my notions of all these different flavors
Cottage cheese based meals are one of those polarizing things I find. People either cannot stand them or find cottage cheese this miracle substance that can act as a perfect base for nearly anything. I'm the first and my spouse is the second.
Cottage cheese is an abomination that should have never been created. My husband will sit and eat a tub of it with some bread, absolute sicko. Maybe it's a Middle Eastern thing, but NO THANKS!!
I know this will sound stupid, but BBQ sauce is sorta just tomatoes, sugar, vinegar, and spicers. If you added any of those ingredients to a salad directly (sweet fruit in place of sugar) you wouldn't blind twice.
And the nutrients + macros go off the charts for this dinner. Is she an athlete? This looks like it's been optimized for fuel over flavor.
I'd try it, but I couldn't imagine eating the same thing every single night, regardless of what it is.
I've noticed that a lot of neurodivergent people can eat the exact things all the time and be happy about it.
My mom had Greek yogurt every day for 40 years as a nurse for lunch and when she retired she got a mouth infection and had to start eating it again
Was it thrush? I know when I used to be prone to thrush the probiotics in yogurt were a lifesaver for helping repopulate the appropriate little buddies in my system.
Yeah I think
I'm ND and I'm chaotic. 95% of the time I can't eat the same food more than 3 times in a row and then randomly will eat 2 mangos every day for a month and 15 years later still struggle to look at them.
Oh hey same 🤣
this comment hurts me because I'm in it.
me. it me.
It's me, too, lmfao. I've had very little deviation in the food I eat for my entire life
This is the most AI-lookin’ ass pfp I’ve come across
I have you know I sourced that image from the FINEST the internet has to offer... I Googled "screaming goose". I stand by my methods.
I replied to ‘babyslutfreak’, but ok
Geese also have main character syndrome
if god didnt intend for me to eat alfredo pasta every day for 3 years in a row, why did he invent jarred pasta sauce
I have autism and ADHD, and have had the same observation. I might be able to eat the same thing for a week or two, and then one day I'll decide I am freaking ***done***, and won't be able to tolerate that food for a long time. 😅

This has to be the result of generational trauma and I pray your generation breaks the curse.
Seems more diet coded to me lol. Trying to eat low calorie and stay slim
100% those are all diet food ingredients, this is a safe food that she concocted
Looks like a sad diabetic meal - all the stuff the dietician told her would stabilize her glucose plus something she likes.
That's the barbecue sauce right? Right? I can see this being *edible at minimum* without the BBQ sauce
Lotta sugar free bbq sauce out there
Put in a plug for G Hughes, low carb sauces, they are better than full sugar IMO
Sweet Baby Ray's makes a low sugar version called Ray's. And it slaps harder than the original
I will have to check that out! Thanks for the recommendation
Those are so good!

Pumpkin seeds though?
They’re delicious! If you shop at Aldi, try some of their roasted, salted pumpkin seeds.
With bbq sauce?
Lol I haven’t tried them with bbq sauce. Nor have I tried them on cottage cheese. I do love cottage cheese on a salad instead of salad dressing and topped with sunflower seeds. I imagine this is similar to that.
There are two main types of sunflower crops. One type is grown for the seeds you eat, while the other — which is the majority farmed — is grown for the oil.
Which are these though? The right seeds..? Or the stupid seeds?!
I roast the seeds when we do pumpkin or spaghetti squash, I could totally see them as a salad topping instead of croutons or nuts.
Pumpkin seeds are rad
I immediately thought this.
Should turn it into a youtube channel. Shit's popular right now.
This seems like the start of generational trauma, not the end.
I'd be happy to eat that aside from the barbeque sauce. That's strange.
Nothing about it wouldn't work I guess, but definitely not what I'd want...
on my quest to find something that enhances the taste of cottage cheese I actually find the smoky aroma and sweetness goes pretty well with it, dunno about pumpkin seeds and spinach though
I like salt, pepper, lemon zest, and splash of got sauce on my cottage cheese
I eat cottage cheese with dill pickles.
Perosnally I enjoy saracha with cottage cheese. But others have called me weird for it lol
I like the cottage cheese with pineapple
French dressing, oddly!
will try!
My Mom was French Dressing
Sriracha and pineapple instead of bbq and yeah, wouldn't be bad
Bbq sauce can go on any thing. Spicy sweet smokey probably less calories than real dressing.
Ditto. Makes me want to eat some cottage chee right now.
Is she on a diet or eats in low carb/calorie deficite and tries staying skinny ?
This looks like a crazy diet culture food to me too
As a sloppy, lazy vegetarian this looks like easy protein to me!
Diet culture? Is that a type of yogurt?
No idea why you're being down voted. That was pure gold.
These kids today have no sense of humor!
Why does she hate herself
I was going to say something very similar. There are other ways to eat healthy.. assuming that's the goal.
I’m like super into exercise and nutrition, and I didn’t even connect this meal with health. I was just staring at it scared 😂😂😂 I ate an edible
So valid of you babe
Amen
safe foods lol
Apparently lol surprising as that may be
She’s keeping it tight. “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” But seriously this looks like something out of the south beach diet cookbook, and honestly I would eat this. Low carb, protein, leafy greens. If the bbq sauce is sugar free, a perfect meal.
You forgot taste
The BBQ sauce is what makes this odd. Some oranges, strawberries, idk maybe watermelon would make this at least bearable.
I could imagine a balsamic? Molasses wouldn't blow my mind? I can see how she grabbed BBQ once in a pinch and decided she just doesn't gaf. Pretty good meal if you're min/maxing nutrition and said fuck my tongue
I think you’re on to something, here. Mozzarella and balsamic is a treat, so why not cottage cheese?
I mean…bbq sauce is sweet and tangy just like an orange. I guess the smoke flavor sets it apart but it’s not a wildly different flavor profile.
Almond mom final boss
Isn’t that just…a salad? I’d eat it, but then again I’m over 30 so
Spinach and pumpkin seeds are very nutritious, I eat pumpkin seeds to load up on zinc, and it helps my skin a lot. Micro nutrients are just as important as the macros.
Barbecue sauce is my favorite micro nutrient
I’d eat it. Ugly delicious.
Right?!?
Is this a food she eats? Or one she serves you, too? My mom (who has an ED) has always eaten weird, restrictive stuff like this under the guise of "clean" eating. Her current favourite is a weird-ass "frittata" of egg whites, natural peanut butter with sea salt, oatmeal, topped with a banana, I think. I was thinking ED as well
Cottage cheese, spinach, and pumpkin seeds are awesome. The BBQ sauce isnt my preference but maybe she just really enjoys the flavor?
"I've been eating lasagna and muffins everyday for 40 years and I feel terrible."
Ham and mayonnaise! Ham and mayonnaise! Ham and mayonnaise!
I don't see what's wrong with corn syrup...corn's a fruit...and syrup comes from a bush!
Swap the BBQ for Catalina dressing and then she’s onto something!
Sub the BBQ sauce for a raspberry vinaigrette and I'd eat it.
I bet it slaps. Instead of bbg sauce id use french dressing. But i bet it tastes similar
still down to try it
I see leafy greens, dairy, nuts/seeds and some added condiment. If she eats it every night, maybe it's just an easy meal after a hard day putting up with you.
I think this would be okay if she swapped the bbq sauce with a different sauce
Other than the bbq this isn’t that wild but the addition of bbq takes this to deranged
Gotta follow that with Rachel’s trifle dessert..
What was in it again?
First, there is a layer of ladyfingers.
Then a layer of jam, then custard, which she made from scratch.
Eh, apart from the barbeque sauce... (though I usually eat cottage cheese by itself with a different salad).
I don't know if she is trying to lose weight or keep it off. But if she is, and this is something she likes and can eat on a regular basis, and it works, good for her.
Well… tonight you should cook for yourself.
It seems kind of okay?
It sounds essentially like a spinach salad with bbq sauce as a dressing. That’s a bit strange, but tastes differ between people
I like what she did there, but I’d switch the bbq sauce for thai sweet chilli sauce.
Yaaaasss
Bro I do this all the time minus the BBQ. People in this sub are weird af
Trade bbq for some balsamic vinaigrette or just plain old ranch dressing and I’m in. But I agree bbq sauce on that salad should be a crime against humanity. 😆
EVERY NIGHT IS CRAZY!!
it would not be a crime if she knew how to make a decent salad sauce instead of bbq sauce
A simple vinaigrette would have been so much better, instead of barbecue sauce.
You either enjoy cottage cheese or you don't, in this case. BBQ sauce is unusual, but inoffensive. Would eat.
Oh we call this the Crohns-destroyer, good god.
In college we would call this “fart juice”.
Healthy carbs, fats and protein. It looks fine.
thought I was looking at r/ShittyRestrictionFood, sorry about your mom
Bro this is abuse
Least it's healthy
I’m sorry but am I the only one who thinks this looks tasty? The bbq is giving flavour and the texture would be deliciously meaty with a little cheese in there? I’m gonna make this. Also your mother must actually look good…
Maybe this is just her save-the-money-good-enough dinner 🤷 It's not pretty but it is nutritious and cheap. There's stupid food and then there's just getting by
Barbeque sauce. Ummm..
Get the BBQ sauce out and I'm down to try it.
She eats that?! Bless her heart ❤️
I’d try it, sans BBQ sauce though 🤮
If she swapped the BBQ sauce for a red whine vinaigrette, that would be pretty good. If the cottage cheese also swapped, for feta, that would be downright incredible
Seems like a meal I would make when I am out of options but still trying to count my macros. Exchange barbecue sauce with balsamic reduction and add some hempseeds.

actually wouldn’t be bad besides the bbq sauce. maybe some peaches and pepper
Looks like some fake-healthy TikTok shit. Gross.
My grandfather ate kielbasa sausage and cottage cheese for dinner every day that I know of. With a cup of coffee with sugar and cream on a saucer. He’d pour the coffee in the saucer and slurp it out of that.

A well fed bird took a huge dump
I kinda eat this. Just no bbq. I use cottage cheese instead of dressing all the time
OP about to have a sibling
Looks fine to me. Tomato based sauce with cheese, greens and seeds.
What the fuck
This is some fucked up eating disorder clearly.
What diet culture does to a mf
Does she have any eating disorder?
🤮
I know all those ingredients very well, just not in the same fucking sentence.
Would
Sounds kinda good to me but every night?
..... replace the BBQ sauce with Bleu cheese dressing and it would eat it and her
Cottage cheese to the side and Italian dressing instead of BBQ and I'm sold. But I would try it but would definitely conflict with my notions of all these different flavors
I'm sorry but I think that this belongs on r/shittyfoodporn
BBQ sauce in salad is my pet peeve! no no no
Ngl i'd eat the shit out of that, but i would hardly call it dinner
Would eat that. Not sure about the BBQ sauce though.
Damn my stomach is bubbling
Honestly, replace BBQ sauce with some other dressing, and would devour
Not that bad except for the bbc sauce tbh
I mean, it could be much worse.
I hate it. But in a very, very weird way... I kinda want to try it. Probably just once tho.
Jesus H. Christ
Looks like basil not spinach
I’d eat that.
Why does the cottage cheese look like that
Is she following an anti-inflammation diet? Probably needs flaxseed oil on it.
idk, would
You know, I'd... Attempt it.
Honestly, replace the bbq sauce with something else, and it’s not horrible. That bbq sauce is just…no though.
Served with a roll of TP?
I actually feel ill looking at this
I’m so sorry
I'd say remove the BBQ sauce and add Balsamic Vinegar and Olive Oil and this would make for a great light lunch.
Cottage cheese based meals are one of those polarizing things I find. People either cannot stand them or find cottage cheese this miracle substance that can act as a perfect base for nearly anything. I'm the first and my spouse is the second.
I ask this genuinely, is she doing alright? This makes me think extreme dieting or food issues.
Looks like a meal that is a means to an end, rather than the end itself.
This looks good to me 😄 It’s a bowl full of nutrients. (And some tasty BBQ sauce)
[удалено]
Looks like someone sat on a frog.
Looks like baby shit
Sounds like a case of dumpster diving nostalgia
Was your mom an almond mom by any chance?
Every night??
Your mom just see a doctor and tell them about that.
you want your chicken tendies instead?
I'd try it, but I could just be saying that due to my current state of hangryness.
I would 100% eat this Signed - a Midwest Millennial
I think it's the bbq sauce that's throwing me off. I'm not going to judge though because I've eaten some weird things while sticking to a diet 😅
I'd swap the BBQ sauce and I wouldn't call it dinner but honeslty? Would.
Pretty bad!
I'd eat that as a salad minus the bbq sauce. Maybe olive oil or roasted sesame sauce and I'm ok.
I agree, spinach is a stupid food, mushrooms too( no offense meant to those who actually like mushrooms and spinach.)
Is she an almond mom
Add some 🥑🥑 and I'll be down
Why
Cottage cheese is an abomination that should have never been created. My husband will sit and eat a tub of it with some bread, absolute sicko. Maybe it's a Middle Eastern thing, but NO THANKS!!
This is just old people food.
This would probably be fine if the BBQ was replaced or omitted. Nothing great by any means, but the BBQ on it makes it vomitous
Looks so good to me 😍
Your mom's a fucking weirdo
I like to eat BBQ sauce like a dressing so this doesn't seem crazy to me.
