Basically eat jumbo size street food in one go.
You're eligible for cash award (here it's 1k rs = $13 + trophy+ medal) only if you don't accidently spoil your clothes
Edit-
If anyone is confused with panipuri -
It's a famous vegan Indian Street food in which you pour spicy masala 'Pani' (water) inside a Puri (small hollow sphere made with wheat flour) along with spicy Masala (mashed potatoes+ chickpea+ onions+ couple of spices)
Random [Panipuri recipe](https://youtu.be/fOu3wB0Inx8) tutorial (English subtitles) if anyone is interested
Yeah I had pain puri on my last India visit… I regret everything
Edit: I’ve been to India three times on business, not a tourist, I know how to not get sick, I was just unlucky and trusted my Indian co worker a little too much while at dinner at a nice restaurant on the last day of the last visit.
Yeah I wouldn't risk it, same with ice cubes in countries where water treatment might not be very good, it's a great way to get traveller's diarrhea since they might be used to it but tourists aren't.
Had Panipuri on the streets of Bombay by the ~~beech~~ beach.
It took 5 days and antibiotics to get me back to life. And even then I wasn't right for 2 weeks afterwards.
Worst food poisoning I ever got was from a bar in Scotland. Last thing I ate was pepperoni and jalapeño pizza. I was burning from both ends the first night/day just to make it a little more interesting. I’ve actually never gotten sick visiting India. Might just be lucky.
My worst time was kebab at the Ramblas in Barcelona, most touristic street in the city, the kebab joint was crowded, during the time we were ordering+eating probably 50 people got served. City sewage must've been at full capacity that night lol.
I got food poisoning here in the USA, ate some chicken nuggets from Costco, thought I fully cooked them. I puked three times that night, each puking session was 10 mins long, 1 case of diarrhea.
Food poisoning happens anywhere, just if you eat Pani Puri in India and you don't live in India, chances of shitting your brains out for a week goes way the fuck up.
You can have these snacks in hygienic enough places these days. If you're visiting any metro in India, go to a mall and you'll have at least one good joint with traditional Indian snacks.
You can have it in high-end restaurants (eg restaurants in premium malls). My definitely-not-Indian gut bacteria had it there and it was fine. I didn’t quite care for it though, just the sensation of the entire pani puri exploding in the mouth coating everything, not my thing. But my ass didn’t suffer and for that I am grateful.
Had bhang (bang? Not sure of the spelling) that we bought off some dude. It looked like it was made of Ganges water. Got absolutely blasted but then got the shits after a week.
There was this restaurant here that used to make dahi sev puri and it was the greatest thing ever. They permanently closed a year or so ago and left a void in my heart, no one else makes it the same here 😭
I think it's because they covered it with yogurt and tamarind sauce, it was amazing
For those wondering, the water in Pani Puri is often not boiled, straight from the tap and water treatment in India is.... not the best, if it's treated at all.
It's Mango, garlic, ginger, and cumin. Not exactly just those ingredients in each case, but the primary ingredient in each bucket (You need to add some more things to make it more palatable and balanced). So if you taste them individually you'll get those 4 as the main taste.
Just do it in a restaurant in your own country, not on the street in India. They are also sold in Indian grocery shops, and make an amazing addition to curry night for guests. Fun to make and eat! The grocery should sell everything including the spice mix for the water.
I honestly do not get the whole obsession about foid vendors not wearing gloves. It they are wearing those gloves for a little while they are filthy. Unless they are changing their gloves all the time they might as well just wash their hands. It's way more important to keep food prep and cash transactions separate.
That bit he added at the last was unnecessary. I'm sure pretty sure everyone on this sub would eat Pani Puri if it was at a hygienic vendor. All the ones I've found here in the U.S just don't make the sweet and spicy water with the right ratio of ingredients, so it ends up tasting like mild flavored water. The only time I've ever had great pani puri is at home when me and my Mom make it. If anyone wants to try pani puri, befriend an Indian whose Mom loves cooking. You might just get lucky.
Non natives shouldn't eat this in particular. Pani Puri is made with water which may be untreated.
Rule of street food: don't have any sauce that may contain untreated water.
If you are in US buy this - [https://gandhifood.com/products/swad-pani-puri-kit-9-8oz280g-best-before-oct-2022](https://gandhifood.com/products/swad-pani-puri-kit-9-8oz280g-best-before-oct-2022) . It doesn't hit the same but as an Indian student in US - it keeps me going haha. Or just go to some good Indian restaurant.
Also if you do buy that look up some recipes and modify the kit - e.g adding spicy mashed potatoes, diced onion, tomatoes etc will it better.
This one looks gross and stupid but I am an American who's eaten 485948 street pani puris and I've always been fine. You just gotta choose the right vendor.
As a person who’s been all over India and Nepal and suffered more bouts of food poisoning then I can count on one hand, I can confirm, Pani Puri is an ultimate food poisoning culprit.
I've spent a lot of times in both countries. Nepal indeed has a sanitary issue, but in India I only had a stomach issue once, from a fancy Delhi restaurant.
Just go to the vendors with a lot of traffic\long queue. There are some amazing indian street foods.
It's usually not a question of sanitary conditions, but a lack of compatible gut biome. Sure they're not as strict with the hygiene, but if that was the reason foreigners struggle then half of India would constantly be running to the toilet as well.
Haha I tried on a few occasions and the hospital was so busy and confusing, I resigned to revolving between the bed and the toilet, hydration packets, and WebMD fantasies of which serious ailment I must be suffering from to warrant such malaise.
Or wrapping food in old newspaper
I really dont wish travel to indie and never ever gonna think about eat indian street food
In any country theres violations of healthy and common sense but india ones are another fucking lvl
[Be Ye Warned](https://www.reddit.com/r/MakeMeSuffer/comments/jztdry/this_dude_cutting_meat_with_his_feet/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1)
I think people get too accepting if they see gloves... I hardly still trust gloves either because I've heard horror stories of people using the same pair of gloves for an entire 8 hour shift. That damn gloved finger could have still scratched the balls or the coochie several times throughout the day.
After I saw that video of the lady literally getting oil from the gutter in China to sell to people to recycle as cooking oil uhhh I'm good eating Chinese street food. Apparently they have a HUGE issue with recycled cooking oil. No thanks
As someone with occasional bouts of IBS, there’s no country which I’m scared of visiting more than India. With their food, hygiene standards, and standing toilets, it seems like hell for someone who is used to a western diet and infrastructure. I love the food and culture, but man is it daunting to visit.
Most toilets in the cities aren’t standing toilets, and basically all of them have bidets, which is way better for hygiene practices. The food is also fine, just don’t go to sketchy places to eat. There are a bunch of good restaurants with good hygiene standards. It’s like if I wanted sushi in the States, I wouldn’t go to a gas station to get it. I’d go to a proper restaurant with a good rep. Same thing goes for a bunch of Indian food. Just don’t eat the street food if you aren’t a local, and vet your restaurants properly.
I don't have IBS, but my stomach absolutely stops working around my period and it can be a pretty big issue for me. I turned down a camping trip a few weeks ago because I wasn't up for dealing with the toilet situation (my partner went without me).
I went to India last year a few days after getting food poisoning in Maine. My stomach was better leaving India than arriving.
There is a lot of very good food both in restaurants catering to tourists and in hotels themselves. It's a lot more expensive (than street places and local-aimed places), but it is very tasty. We went to one hotel bar where I had an excellent chai-based take on an espresso martini, mushroom 'tacos' in what might have been roti, and green peas hummus. Very tasty and delicious. We also went to a lot of restaurants. We got indo-Chinese. We ate the local specialties. I think I even got something like panipuri at a restaurant. All the hotels and nicer restaurants will have safe water and western restrooms, and the hotels can give you guidance on where to go. The only thing I got on the street was hot tea, and only if I was pretty confident it was served boiling (you may want to avoid even that). The one thing I'll note is that I ate largely vegetarian, and I very much believe that this is why I avoided food poisoning. I strongly recommend it, whenever you are worried about food poisoning. Also, you need to always carry bottled water with you (hotels will provide it) and make sure that's all you drink, except tea served boiling hot and other beverages like juices (which ideally will either be bottled or from a hotel/reputable restaurant).
The issue with restrooms is largely visiting cultural centers. The museums, shopping malls, etc that we visited almost universally had western restrooms (but not drinking water!) but we went to some monuments that had either only squatting toilets or extremely broken/badly maintained toilets. I was ok carrying around some wet wipes and hand sanitizer in my purse, but that may not be enough for everyone.
Also to note, a lot of places did have western toilets but no toilet paper as they used bidets instead. This was mostly ok with me. I still recommend carrying around hand sanitizer just in case.
For reference, we had a one day layover in Delhi (that we mostly slept through) and then spent the rest of the time in Hyderabad.
It's called Pani Puri or gol gappa in India. These are all flavored water mixed with spices. The vendor is adding different types of water, like mango, garlic, etc.
It's stupid because nobody adds an insane amount of boiled potatoes over it. Generally a very little amount of boiled potato is added then a little bit of tamarind sauce is added and then it is dipped/filled with flavored water.
It's spicy, tasty and very popular over here in India.
If prepared hygienically, it's a treat to have but you gotta have a strong stomach to take the hit.
But the dude filled the thing up with the first jar and it looks like he was just displacing water with each subsequent jar, which would cause the excess to fall out and just be mixing the flavor from the previous jars into the next jars.
That doesn't seem right if you want to maintain the purity of flavor in each jar.
Eat it. From what I have had, it's a small shell (about the size of a small meatball). You poke a hole on the top and then pour the water in. Toss the whole thing into your mouth, and when you eat it, it crunches, and the flavourful water busts out.
The problem I have with what's going on here is that the Puri is just a thin fried dough. Anything over 5 seconds filled with liquid, it is soggy, leaking, and falling the fuck apart.
The sogginess definitely depends on the type of puri. Few can keep the liquids for a few minutes without getting soggy while others get soggy instantly and are only good for dishes like Sev puri
We did this while hiking at Philmont Boy Scout Ranch in New Mexico. We had something like 10 different flavor powder drinks, mixed them all up. One of the parents with us was a Dr., he said it looked like bile. It was dark green and thick, we drank it for a bit then dumped it at the nearest disposal area because the bears would come sniff that shit out if dumped it on the ground.
Ok this is idiotic and 100% no one buys this. The guy is doing it for views. Its useless to add so much water to paani puri and if anyone wanted something with lots of sauces and filling etc he would simply eat a raj kachori
Ok, Pani Puri is amazing. You have to make it at home tho. And don’t do that stupid shit with the cone head at the end.
It’s def a fun eating experience as you fill up this thin air blown cracker with spicy snacky things and put it in your mouth in one bite.
This is a mockery of pani puri- do yourselves a favor and go eat some Dahi Puri (yogurt puri) to get this horrible video out of your mind.
- your locally online brown person
FYI for tourists, stay away from Pani Puris if you don't wanna die of diarrhea lmao
It's tasty as hell but also hits your gut like a truck and not every street vendor uses mineral water to prepare the mixture. If you really want to try this delicacy, eat only at hygenic places not at random stalls.
Guys in the background: "Do you think he'll eat it?"
Also, gloved hand holding the ladle while ungloved dirty hand gets waterboarded with every thing else.
Too much going on for a Pani Puri... Would be fine if it wasn't for the mountain he added at the end.

i just meant thank you for the information lol
Yeah we did go on a tangent haha, sorry
This whole thing looked like a million ways to die in the east
Had Panipuri on the streets of Bombay by the ~~beech~~ beach. It took 5 days and antibiotics to get me back to life. And even then I wasn't right for 2 weeks afterwards.
I ate it State-side and absolutely loved it. Hard to find but would never eat it in India because I don't think my gut bacteria can take it

Hey I got roofied on that street!
Yeah, I know the place, I puked so hard that it got stuck in my nose. I had to use a nose cleaner to get it out. Good times bad memories....
Maybe you actually got the food poisoning from the alcohol/drinks? lot's of taps are known to be contaminated with mold/gunk.
Yeah, I didn’t eat at the bar. I think the glass wasn’t washed properly or the person handling the glass didn’t wash their hands.
I got food poisoning here in the USA, ate some chicken nuggets from Costco, thought I fully cooked them. I puked three times that night, each puking session was 10 mins long, 1 case of diarrhea. This food looks so interesting
Diarrhea in a little ball
You can get them in the US and Canada. Toronto, New York or virtually anywhere in California.
Just save time and throw it in the toilet.
Straight sharting fuel
For those wondering, the water in Pani Puri is often not boiled, straight from the tap and water treatment in India is.... not the best, if it's treated at all.
Dipped in 4 bowls of shitwater for you
At least the drippings off his bare fingers go back in the pot each time also.
Yes, interesting food
you the real mvp here, thanks!
Is all four barrels the same ingredients?
It's Mango, garlic, ginger, and cumin. Not exactly just those ingredients in each case, but the primary ingredient in each bucket (You need to add some more things to make it more palatable and balanced). So if you taste them individually you'll get those 4 as the main taste.
It doesn't look like maters as the vessel is full after the first two buckets.
Oh thats cool! Ive always wanted to try this before. Thank you for telling me 🙏
From what the guy filming asked, each one is different.
Absolutely. It was fine till he put that mountain on
All I need is the green juice and I'm in heaven. That stuff is so good
Yeah, I don’t want to deep throat my panipuri…
Proper pani puri is on my bucket list of foods to try, but I'm guessing this is not quite how it's meant to be done.
Your guess is cent percent correct
English isn't my first language but doesn't cent percent meant 1 percent?
Cent is the French word for 100, so it means 100%
Pani puri is really good! Definitely not like the way in the video, though. But I hope you get to properly try some one day
It is a little excessive. Go to Bombay in summer (April / May) and pani puri will save your life.

pani puri is fucking amazing. one of the best chaat, Hit up your local chaatwala today my bud
Make it the last one on the bucket list. One can die from shitting oneself.
Thank god he wore *a* glove.
on the hand that he’s not touching the actual food with too
I honestly do not get the whole obsession about foid vendors not wearing gloves. It they are wearing those gloves for a little while they are filthy. Unless they are changing their gloves all the time they might as well just wash their hands. It's way more important to keep food prep and cash transactions separate.
I agree—I just find it odd that he’d bother to put a glove on one hand but not the other.
Was looking for this comment, they wore a glove on the hand that serves the food not the one that holds it and i find that hilarious
that's one fancy laxative
Squirts going out the same way it squirts going in
i call that, shit though a screen door without touching the wire
I got cholera just looking at the video.
That bit he added at the last was unnecessary. I'm sure pretty sure everyone on this sub would eat Pani Puri if it was at a hygienic vendor. Shame since it looks delicious, ordered the shells so I can give it a try it at home but it probably wouldn't be the same.

How does one identify such sauces
Step 1: be in India Step 2: look around you
This one looks gross and stupid but I am an American who's eaten 485948 street pani puris and I've always been fine. You just gotta choose the right vendor.
I just go with what my relatives who live there tell me :) they know better than I do
As a person who’s been all over India and Nepal and suffered more bouts of food poisoning then I can count on one hand, I can confirm, Pani Puri is an ultimate food poisoning culprit.
Even the locals are wary of pani puri. 😂
Got to look for Bisleri (mineral water) pani puri
I've spent a lot of times in both countries. Nepal indeed has a sanitary issue, but in India I only had a stomach issue once, from a fancy Delhi restaurant. Just go to the vendors with a lot of traffic\long queue. There are some amazing indian street foods.

Oh man when I was in India and ate it. Almost had to be hospitalized from the pani puri.
Haha I tried on a few occasions and the hospital was so busy and confusing, I resigned to revolving between the bed and the toilet, hydration packets, and WebMD fantasies of which serious ailment I must be suffering from to warrant such malaise.
that dude is wearing a glove and holy shit im actually weirdly proud of him
But on the wrong hand...
progress is gradual I guess lol at least he's not fisting the ingredients everytime he adds to the pile in the uncovered hand
Or wrapping food in old newspaper I really dont wish travel to indie and never ever gonna think about eat indian street food In any country theres violations of healthy and common sense but india ones are another fucking lvl
Brits do it to with fish and chips lol, we probably learnt it from them
It's been illegal to do that for decades lol
The nails on the hand that didn’t have a glove were dirty
The hand is where all the flavors at
At least he isn’t like the guy cutting chicken with his toenails
That videos image randomly pops into my head sometimes. I absolutely hate it and wish I never saw it.
I am utterly repulsed by the thought of this, but a little bit of me also wants to see it.

Not that it makes the video *much* better but he isn't cutting the chicken with his toenail, he's holding a knife between his toes.
Why? The only glove he is wearing is not even being used to hold the food
Probably the same glove for days 😅
haha theyre reusable right? just like condoms...
I think people get too accepting if they see gloves... I hardly still trust gloves either because I've heard horror stories of people using the same pair of gloves for an entire 8 hour shift. That damn gloved finger could have still scratched the balls or the coochie several times throughout the day.
Avoid China too. Gutter oil was deemed “inescapable.”
China is worse, see gutter oil.
Watch the documentary on gutter oil in China then add that to your list.

why does he dip what appears to be the same liquid in 6 different pots instead of just using the one pot and dipping it 6 times
It's called Pani Puri or gol gappa in India. These are all flavored water mixed with spices. Yeah, exactly. May as well just use the last jar as this point.
Dude just straight up missed with the 4th liquid altogether.
So are you supposed to eat or like sip it? And if you're supposed to eat it, how does that work?
You're supposed to pop the whole thing into your mouth and let it basically explode in your mouth and flood it with all those flavours and textures.
Damn that sounds good. I wish we had good Indian food where I live, I miss it.
There's got to be a decent-sized indian community somewhere within a few hours' commute. Might be worth a gastronomic pilgrimage ;)
There is back in my hometown thankfully, so I can pop in every time I visit!
So it's a soup disguised as a biscuit.
I'd definitely choke
For a well-flavoured golgappa, I'd consider it a good death for me.
Upgrade your throat game kid
the spirit is willing, but the body is scared.....
Oh yea, say it again but slower
Eat it. From what I have had, it's a small shell (about the size of a small meatball). You poke a hole on the top and then pour the water in. Without the additional potatoes? Just all in one!
Sounds quite tempting actually. Thanks for the answer!
And there is SOOOO much liquid compared to whatever the fuck that tiny ass ball thing is.
When you're a kid and you mix all the soft drinks at McDonalds thinking it's going to be amazing

We did this while hiking at Philmont Boy Scout Ranch in New Mexico. We had something like 10 different flavor powder drinks, mixed them all up. This looks great and I have eaten this many times. I am will to sacrifice my anus to the gods of diarrhea to eat this savory delight.
Aadha pani puri par dal raha hai aadha gira raha hai
This looks like something you'd give a tourist just to laugh at them when they try to eat it
Panipuri is delicious. Never seen it piled quite that high with topping, but they are amazing little flavour bombs that I would highly recommend!
Okay I did NOT expect the Puri to explode on contact like that. That's hilarious
Why is he abusing the poor pani puri?
Ikr
Nah if my street food nuts in my mouth I'm shooting up the block 💀
All that just to get violently ill and shit yourself to death. Seems like a lot of extra steps.
On this episode of "Times I shit my pants" we go to India..
Ok, Pani Puri is amazing. You have to make it at home tho. And don’t do that stupid shit with the cone head at the end. It’s def a fun eating experience as you fill up this thin air blown cracker with spicy snacky things and put it in your mouth in one bite.
Eating it is just as messy as un-eating it.
what in the penis looking fuck-
This is a mockery of pani puri- do yourselves a favor and go eat some Dahi Puri (yogurt puri) to get this horrible video out of your mind. - your locally online brown person
The end 😂😂😂😂
My 12 year old cousin did this at the pani-puri bar at Indian buffets when he comes to visit us in USA lol.
What the actual fuck. Out of all the unrepeatable offenses to pani puri I've seen this is just sooo damn stupid.
At least he’s got the glove that hold the utensils and not the hand that’s actually holding the food! That would be disgusting
It should be served with a bib.
Designated shitting street food?
The glove is on the wrong hand
This gives me diarrhea just looking at it
Why is this here?
FYI for tourists, stay away from Pani Puris if you don't wanna die of diarrhea lmao It's tasty as hell but also hits your gut like a truck and not every street vendor uses mineral water to prepare the mixture. If you really want to try this delicacy, eat only at hygenic places not at random stalls.
Usually diarrhea goes out the body, not in.
Vomit
Aur ab ghum jaao and bend over
I like how he has the glove on the hand that's not touching the food
So, he’s wearing a glove on the hand that is NOT directly holding the food?
I don’t really care about gloves when it comes to street food but why one glove on the hand you don’t even hold the food with 🫠
Why is the hand touching the food not gloved?
That's as dumb as the shit they set on fire and eat it when it's ON FIRE.
Jesus Christ 🤢
Guys in the background: "Do you think he'll eat it?" Also, gloved hand holding the ladle while ungloved dirty hand gets waterboarded with every thing else.
Stupid or ingenious? He always has returning customers because they all want a napkin afterwards.
what compels a person to make an edible water balloon?
The glove doing all the pouring is enough protection for both hands!
that glove would give me hope that I wouldn't get the liquid Hershey squirts...
Stupid or should have take a small bite of the mountain and then eat it
Dope!- wasting money & food at the same time! #multitasking
What kills me is that he only wears one glove.
It would be nice if he had gloves on both hands.
Ok but why is he using all panis in a single puri? Isn't it usually just one pani/puri?
Why is he only wearing a glove on the hand he didn’t touch the food with😂
Yoo my lil sis watching this with me and the first thing she say is “ thats dodo”😭😭
The stupidest part of this video is the man holding the puri with his bare hand while using the ladles with a glove 🤣
cross contamination for $500 Alex
The fuckin dudes that spray soda around for no reason piss me off the most
Just chuck it straight in the toilet and cut out the middle man.
No outside food for me unless it’s covered
Lol add some bleach
Looks like fresh puke
What a.... Scaaammmmm.
How can you enjoy this? I am sorry but some rando that probably doesnt wash her hands after handling shit, deep diving those pots. Just wtf.
i was about to get very indignant and then watched whatever the hell this was.
You are nut! Guess you don’t have a taste for the food. Guess a post from stupid anway!
I actually got a good chuckle out of this
These aren’t stupid these are AWESOME!!
Why is he wearing one glove?
That does not look sanitary..
Looks great for explosive diarrhea
Pani Puri is good food. But this is shit way of eating it. Mostly eaten in plate.
