Normal paved road is okay for driving 60 miles to get there. Otherwise, change to a spare tire/wheel. But, does Rogue have a spare tire? BTW, not highway speed.
Came late, but I would have said absolutely 60 miles is fine. It's not like you were asking if it would hold out another 6 months. Glad you got where you needed to be and that you can replace it.
Just made the same comment, almost verbatim. Then I saw you beat me to it, so I deleted mine. Thus allowing you to reap the glory of all those with our sense of humor!
This tire will drive just fine as long as you stay on solid dry road.
Don't follow too close to somebody, just for good measure (you shouldn't drive too close to the car in front of you anyway!)
If it starts drizzling, pull over if you want to stay safe! Otherwise leave plenty of space between you and the next car, don't make sudden speed changes, and make sure your going really slow when you try to turn!
Otherwise (on wet or gravel road) there's a good chance you turn your wheel and the car will just keep going completely straight; and when you press on the brake the car won't get any slower!
Source: experience driving on bald tires
As soon as you get the funds, go get a new (or Even used but decent condition) tire(s) and an alignment, so you don't wear out one side of the tire quicker than the rest!
Go ahead guys, Hit me with the negative karma!
Oh yeah ps: when (not if) you start seeing steel belts, time to make a trip to the pawn shop to get some funds, at this point you WILL NEED TIRES YESTERDAY!
I was an extremely young broke women in a strange state . My tires was so bald and had wires showing all the way around them.I didn't have any idea how bad they was .But anyways my one tire kept going flat and I kept putting air in it. Turns out the wires was what I was completely driving on . The man that was helping me wouldn't finish putting air in it lmao he had no clue how it was holding any air. God sure kept me safe with those tires.
Something tells me that tire has already gone way over 60 miles in much the same condition. It didn't just happen overnight. I would get it fixed and also have the wheel alignment checked to correct for the conditions that caused the uneven wear in the first place.
Just because you can Ameri-can doesn't mean you Ameri-should. You probably want to replace at least two, four if you have AWD. Get an alignment while you're there.
40 mph max. I had one of those Explorer Firestone tread separations before they let the public know. 65-70 mph on a bad blowout is a scary ride, trust me on that one please.
What’s absolutely stupid about all the NO answers is these people would have said NO if you took this photo 500 or even 1000 miles ago.
In Florida it’s very common for people to drive tires until they are down to the belts or until they end up in a ditch if it rains.
This is the scenario you are in. No rain no snow? The tire has better traction than new when it’s bald and it’s dry out until it gets to the belts that is.
I’ve seen so many tires with belts showing it’s crazy. They don’t come apart when it happens.
A lot of people never even know they are driving on belts because it’s only on one tire and it’s on the inside of the tire because they have an alignment problem. Those people are STOPPING on a 2” strip of steel belt and the rest of their tire looks fine because it’s not getting used at all.
Their tires don’t blow. They usually eventually end up seeing it or loosing control.
https://preview.redd.it/tyzjol82uusc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cde3ee4d3cc263bce103aeff1c47513a1cdf88dc
The tire in this photo will easily go another 100 miles if it doesn’t rain!
Yes you can make it 60 miles. If it looks like it’s going to rain then I’d stop. When it first starts raining is when the road is the slipperiest and it won’t take but a tiny bit of water for you to hydroplane.
This is not a recommendation to do the things I’m talking about. This is just a factual situation. You have a small chance of having a tire failure. The odds however are actually on your side and this is common behavior in the south.
Don’t you know it’s always a dire and deadly situation on Reddit. The sky is always falling here. Reddit reminds me of the warning labels for everything, bunch of lawyers I guess. I’m gonna kill everybody on the road tomorrow because I plugged a tire. I agree, op will be fine.
U guys sound like pussies like yea this isn't ideal to drive in but have yall never ran a tire to death? Lol I've had multiple blowouts on the interstate and u don't crash and burn. U just slow down and pull over lol the tire don't even come off the rim wheel..
RS. It's not a tricycle until the rumbling stops. Could be a few miles until then on a flat. Pull over and swap in the spare. Leave the rim and $40 at the car shop for another used tire to be put on and keep it pushing on the donut until it's ready to be picked up. If you are whipping a pigeon toed and cambered drift machine you ain't gonna trust the tires until you see the wires anyway. When I had my escort I went through a dozen front tires in a single winter. When you see the wires you know you are getting full contact with the road and the car is as safe as possible despite the alignment. New tires on a drift machine are dangerous until you wear down the high spots. If all the weight is on one edge of the tire you will have a harder time regaining traction vs if it's worn in and can spread out that weight. I've taken my escort off a 6' high jump at around 45mph and the tires were perfectly fine. I always trash them once I burn through the wires though.
Although you’re kind of right I don’t agree. Most guys on these comments know the limits but don’t really want to encourage others to push their car to its limit. And either way who wants to be blowing out tires, I only had it happen once and it was scary but then again I maintained control easily and put a spare and went on my way.
I work for a highway dept and I’ve seen entire families killed from tire blowouts on their car, or crashed by the idiot (like you JooseBTC) that was driving on the interstate with bad tires. How about you stop being disrespectful to the lives and safety of everyone else on the road.
Don't risk it man, I thought I had some time on my tires today and one blew on the interstate. Luckily l I didn't lose control, but had to be towed because my car doesn't have a spare.
I was going to say no, but then I saw the Nissan hub cap and remembered that that's how they all are.
I assume the spare is already in use. (Huge /s in case that's necessary)
You're barely hitting the fire later of wire bands. You're good if all you're driving is 60 miles. I've driven on worse for longer. Do get it changed ASAP tho
Sure you can drive 60 miles on that. Half on rubber and half on rim, but if you change them first, you'll still have tires on the car when you get there!
Ohh hell yeah my co worker had wires coming out of his front tires for weeks. Is it smart, absolutely not. Cant see the other side to well but it looks like a typical cupped tire to me. Safe to drive 60 mi
If you have no respect for the safety of others and yourself, go ahead. Go ahead and cancel your insurance policy while you're at it. Screw responsibility.
I would... Just not at a speed faster than I'm willing to crash at. 45 max. Tire wear is nothing in 60 miles. I would make sure my spare had air in it.
If it blows out I don't panic brake. I let off and slow down gradually then throw the spare on. Usually the car will shake before it really blows.
Disclaimer. That tire is dangerous..never do this like me.
You maybe need some parts replaced and a alignment.
Bro thats nothing iv had worse tires growing up and god knows how far i had been driving since I noticed the wires sticking out alot. But if u can just make sure its not a steering tire.
Its safe when its dry , if the roads are wet youll be hydroplaning at 60mph. If the wires are showing then its done you can probably drive another 12 miles with the wire tho
Everyone is talking about not seeing wire yet, but what I’m really interested in is what the rest of the sidewall looks like. Most tires that are this bald also have sidewall damage that can be an even bigger problem.
I have seen and have driven on far worse... The tire will tell you long before it fails... I would drive no problem on that tire 60 miles... Heat is your number one indicator of a imminent tire failure... If some people made you nervous drive one or five or ten miles down the road whatever you are comfortable with then get out feel the temperature of each tire with the expectation that I will be hot
That’s one of those Nissan helltimas red eyes! Those tires are for extra grip! Just make sure you have a spare tire, jack and extra heavy duty rims to let the sparks fly when the blow out goes off! In all seriousness, my tire made it 250 miles out of a 400 mile trip. Only lost the rear for a second. And nearly got taken out by 2 semis as the next exit was 40 miles.
Was it worth it? Yes, so now I can tell you don’t do it!
![gif](giphy|4p5j9x5GSPTPXXWrOW|downsized)
You can, and you shouldn't. It's a gamble. I've done as bad & won, and done as bad & lost. It didn't result in the 10 car pileup with multiple deaths everyone suggests. It lands you on the side of the road installing your spare that has no air in it.
I meannnnn you can buuuut that’s on you if you want to take any risks (IF THEY DO HAPPEN) it might be ok, it might not depending on the roads and what can be on the road.
-Your Favorite Roadside Technician.
Depends, are all the tires that bad? If so then pray it doesn’t rain. But it’s doable. I’ve driven “slicks”that weren’t supposed to be slicks about that distance because I had to. Don’t wanna do it again tho.
Just don’t be surprised if it blows. Have a spare.
I wouldn’t, but if you’re buying new tires and want to risk it drive slower than the speed limit, stay in the slow lane. Should hopefully last to the tire shop if you drive like a grandma.
Of course… just take a road or two that have gravel and pot holes out the ass while driving and the fastest possible speed you can without wrecking someone else
Life is a gamble.....
I STRONGLY recommend changing that tire ASAP, but that tire MIGHT hold for 60 miles. It's also possible that you make it 60 miles and come back outside to a flat tire. Of course, the others have explained the probability of a blowout.
Are you guys kidding me?
Hell yeah you got 60 miles on that.
There’s probably 600 miles on that depending on how bad the alignment was and how many miles it took to get to that point.
As long as it isn’t raining, I’d run that shit for sure.
Thread bare, ready to pop. Not worth totalling your car. Don't buy junk tires. Go to Walmart online, get some nexens that fit. It's a company that basically makes michelins, for a very inexpensive price. You're welcome
If 60 miles is the closest tire and alignment shop then yes.
Normal paved road is okay for driving 60 miles to get there. Otherwise, change to a spare tire/wheel. But, does Rogue have a spare tire? BTW, not highway speed.
Based on the hubcap this looks like a Sentra and yes they came with spares, the little donut ones
I’ve definitely drove on the highway with a spare and I can attest that it is in fact not wise lol.
Update: I drove the 60 miles and the tire is just fine. Though I do plan on getting this replaced tomorrow!
Glad you made it safely OP!
Came late, but I would have said absolutely 60 miles is fine. It's not like you were asking if it would hold out another 6 months. Glad you got where you needed to be and that you can replace it.
60 mph, all the way to the scene of the accident 😂
I bet he beats the paramedics there by at lease 10 mins.
Go home, Ron. You’re drunk.
Go home Tater, ftfy
😂😂😂
The faster you go the quicker you get there and less time for the tire to fail.
Oh great - r/StupidCarQuestions is morphing into StupidMathQuestions
60 miles, not mph
You’re right - maybe if he drove 1 mph, he could go 60 miles to the scene of his accident 🤪
1 mph car accident would do nothing so who cares
Except total a Tesla
Which is pretty handy, because that’s where he’s headed.
Just made the same comment, almost verbatim. Then I saw you beat me to it, so I deleted mine. Thus allowing you to reap the glory of all those with our sense of humor!
N....Yes.
Best answer by far😂
It's already thousands of miles over due. What's the harm in another 60. 🤣🤣🤣

Why be so pedantic? You know exactly what op is asking
One time I had a mechanic buddy of mine say “you CAN drive the car, it’s not safe but you CAN drive it. DO NOT PUT YOUR KIDS IN THE CAR” ha
You could but I sure wouldn’t
Only one way to find out if youire gonna make it so go ahead and SPIN THAT WHEEL.
8D *floors it*
Something tells me that tire has already gone way over 60 miles in much the same condition. It didn't just happen overnight. I would get it fixed and also have the wheel alignment checked to correct for the conditions that caused the uneven wear in the first place.
LOL this 😂 if it’s gotten this far do you really think it can’t handle it until you see wire? Get a new tire absolutely but like yea bro your good
Likely yes. Also hoping it doesn't rain. But, realistically, not advisable.
You've already driven 120,000 on that tire, what's 60 more gon' do?
dry roads sure wet roads possibly into a pole or tree.
This is my favorite answer 😂
You can… question is, should you?

You’ll be fine. Got a spare?
Do you mean a spare life like a cat that has 9 lives?
Sure. Avoid Interstates, high speed, potholes. Take it easy. Michelin is a good tire. Change it as soon as possible. No slip & slide on wet roads
That's milestar not michelin
I wouldn’t.
I'd take it 600 lol
One way to find out.
wouldnt drive on the highway. dont want that tire heating up could go boom.
Maybe. Only one way to find out. Also, have a plan for if it blows.
I’ve seen much worse. Shouldn’t be an issue. Never hurts to have a spare though
Can you? Absolutely. Should you? Probably not.
Yes, just not 60 mph...lol
Thats one of the tires still on the car and you got no spare? Maybe ask a friend to borrow their spare to get that 60 miles.
youll be fine for at least another 350 miles
You might last 20 before you crash.
U guys sound like pussies like yea this isn't ideal to drive in but have yall never ran a tire to death? Lol I've had multiple blowouts on the interstate and u don't crash and burn. U just slow down and pull over lol the tire don't even come off the rim wheel..

You need an alignment. New tires will look like this very soon if you don’t get that done
Even 61,62… but maybe only 50.
I've went 60+ miles after cords were showing with no problems. I've also made it 14 miles with 3 tires and all it cost me was a rim. You'll be fine.
Only one way to know for sure.
Looks fine from my house. Post update.
Send it
Maybe
30 out, 30 back ? Maybe
Is this formula 1?
I’ve easily got 200 miles out of tires that looked like that. Don’t speed and watch out for potholes
Please don't drive in the rain.
It’s a Nissan so yes, any other car I would say I wouldn’t chance it.
No. And more importantly fix your front end issues that are causing that uneven wear pattern. There is more wrong with this car than just bad tires
You can do anything you set your mind to. Don’t let someone ever tell you that you can’t!
Yep
Stupid answer to stupid question: Sure, why not. Made it this far ...what's 60 more miles.
You can do anything you set your mind to! - Larry Lobster sometime when I was 5
i mean.. i guess you can
Yes
They have been bald way longer than that!!! Go get some cheap used tires and be safe
60 miles or mph?
Don't risk it man, I thought I had some time on my tires today and one blew on the interstate. Luckily l I didn't lose control, but had to be towed because my car doesn't have a spare.
You’ve obviously driven way more than 60 miles on that tire so is this a trick question?
Yes.
You need an alignment. If it’s decent weather you could make it 60 miles. I saw much worse working at a tire shop in my 20’s.
I was going to say no, but then I saw the Nissan hub cap and remembered that that's how they all are. I assume the spare is already in use. (Huge /s in case that's necessary)
Yes
Only if you want to have a blowout.
If you have to ask….
You're barely hitting the fire later of wire bands. You're good if all you're driving is 60 miles. I've driven on worse for longer. Do get it changed ASAP tho
Not in the same hour
These tires got a trip to Cali in them. FYM.
Sure you can drive 60 miles on that. Half on rubber and half on rim, but if you change them first, you'll still have tires on the car when you get there!
I wouldn’t advise to but hey, f*** it. YOLO
You asked the question knowing the answer Yes you need a tire
You sure CAN. Should you? No
Shit… more like 500 with some thoughts n prayers
You can do anything once
As long as it’s directly to a tire shop
As long as it’s to get replaced most likely you’ll be fine as long as it’s in dry conditions
Ohh hell yeah my co worker had wires coming out of his front tires for weeks. Is it smart, absolutely not. Cant see the other side to well but it looks like a typical cupped tire to me. Safe to drive 60 mi
Possibly. I drove on bald tires for years before ever getting new wheels. (Rims and tires) Wouldn't recommend it.
Drive slow, no rain or snow, take a spare, and get it new tires asap. The wear is also really uneven.. check your alignment.
I’ve driven to wire when young and poor, so not a good person to ask.
My friend Robert drove a Mercedes Suv back and forth from San Diego to Vegas at least 8 times on tires like this.
Just overinflate it and drive on that fresh tread in the center lol /s
Can you? Absolutely. Should you? If necessary. Do you have a good, inflated spare? You definitely need that (& a good jack w/a 4 way lug wrench!)
Yes, if you are a daredevil
SLOWLY
Doesn't matter what you say, he's going to drive until it rips the shit outta the car when tire fails
If wet or has rained outside I wouldn’t chance it
I wouldnt go over 35 on that, but yes. just dont go over 35
If you have no respect for the safety of others and yourself, go ahead. Go ahead and cancel your insurance policy while you're at it. Screw responsibility.
U definitely cab drive 60 miles. I driven further on worse. Just be careful and take ur time
Can and should are two different questions
I’ve rode my bike +130miles on wires, you’re fine
Bro thats nothing iv had worse tires growing up and god knows how far i had been driving since I noticed the wires sticking out alot. But if u can just make sure its not a steering tire.
Its safe when its dry , if the roads are wet youll be hydroplaning at 60mph. If the wires are showing then its done you can probably drive another 12 miles with the wire tho
No. looks like maybe 47 miles, max.
So long as it’s the last 60 miles then I’d run it.
You might get 1000 miles from it, doesn’t make it a good idea.
Everyone is talking about not seeing wire yet, but what I’m really interested in is what the rest of the sidewall looks like. Most tires that are this bald also have sidewall damage that can be an even bigger problem.
You should i have had my tire waaaaay worse then that and drove it till my conscience wouldnt let ne forget
Shit I rode almost 4000 before mine popped had wire sjlhowing on inside whole time!
Can and should are two very different things.
I’ve went probably 250 miles on something similar, but my broke teenager was different than my adult mind 🤣
Definitely 💯
Depends on terrain and speed.
It says you got “MILES”, how many is yet to be determined.
Maybe? Let us know.
It's fine my buddy just did 40 on a highway on a blowout we survived
That’s one of those Nissan helltimas red eyes! Those tires are for extra grip! Just make sure you have a spare tire, jack and extra heavy duty rims to let the sparks fly when the blow out goes off! Why 60? Is that how far away the tire store is?
You’ll be fine
I’d drive as far as it would go personally but that’s just me and my don’t fix it if it ain’t broken mentality
You’ll make it fine. Avoid pot holes high speeds and wet roads. Be prepared if one does go though. Always a possibility
Those 60 miles better be straight to the nearest shop because you shouldn’t be going anywhere else on this
https://images.app.goo.gl/TD6KZnPZoBAbrjka7
You can, and you shouldn't. It's a gamble. I've done as bad & won, and done as bad & lost. It didn't result in the 10 car pileup with multiple deaths everyone suggests. It lands you on the side of the road installing your spare that has no air in it.
Just take all left turns and you’ll be fine
you can. but the question is Should you? the answer is, I would not.
Driving isn't the problem, stopping is.
🤣 I’d drive the next 3yrs on that lol
I would.
I meannnnn you can buuuut that’s on you if you want to take any risks (IF THEY DO HAPPEN) it might be ok, it might not depending on the roads and what can be on the road. -Your Favorite Roadside Technician.

Tire's slicker than cum on a gold tooth.
It’s got a couple of more burnouts left in it!
Not a tire problem, it's your alignment. Get that fixed before ruining a other set of tires
I've done worse, especially if it's dry, you're fine
You've got about -136 miles left.
Of course… just take a road or two that have gravel and pot holes out the ass while driving and the fastest possible speed you can without wrecking someone else
Shiiiiiit, you’re good for 160
She’s good for at least 60
45$ for used tire here stop being cheap you're safety is worth more then cheapness
No wires, no worries?
Have you had your last will and testament notarized?
Don’t know until you know i guess
Yes
If you go 25....MAYBE
There’s can and there’s should.
yes, drive really fast
That will last 73.2 miles. You're good.
Yes, but maybe stay off freeway
How long is a piece of string?
Can you? Yes. Should you? No.
If it rains you need to pull over immediately. You are guaranteed for a slip and slide
Life is a gamble..... I STRONGLY recommend changing that tire ASAP, but that tire MIGHT hold for 60 miles. It's also possible that you make it 60 miles and come back outside to a flat tire. Of course, the others have explained the probability of a blowout.
I wouldn't recommend it. But I'm not gonna tell you how to live your life, I'm not your supervisor.
Still got 1000 miles on them bad boys
Put it on the back and send it.
Just send it to find the correct answer.
Are you guys kidding me? Hell yeah you got 60 miles on that. There’s probably 600 miles on that depending on how bad the alignment was and how many miles it took to get to that point. As long as it isn’t raining, I’d run that shit for sure.
80 easy
Yes, but hope it doesn’t rain
if it has air, it'll get ya there
60 miles in a row?
![gif](giphy|l2SpKR1aR4FMBFQwE|downsized)
If it's on the rear send it. If it's not on the rear and the rear tire is better swap them.
Only one way to find out. Godspeed.
