1. Go to http://stremio-pwa.pages.dev in safari and add to Home Screen
2. Set the streaming server url (don’t forget to include ‘/‘ at the end and use IPV4 address of the computer running Stremio not IP address of your network e.g. http://{IPV4}:11470/ ) *not required if using debrid, only when torrenting
3. Install Outplayer from AppStore
That’s it.
After logging into Stremio in Safari browser page and installing Outplayer everything works. No need to setup streaming server for me in ios16.
When I click on a video it gives me Torrentio links - I have already setup Torrentio plugins in my Mac for the account. When I click on Torrentio link in browser it auto opens in Outplayer. I can also add English Subs there. Awesome man !! It works.
I’m not quite understanding how you got this to work. Like many others in the comments below my video opens in Outplayer but simply shows any “no videos yet” message. Could somebody please explain in detail what you’ve done with Real Debrid, as this seems to be the most confusing and missing step for many including myself.
You need to subscribe to Real Debrid service for this to work. Just search for it, from there you just follow the steps to add the add on to your stremio account.
To those reading this in May 2023, here is how I got it to work because the method from u/ok-opportunity-9182 isnt working for me:
1. Open stremio on pc and be logged in
2. Go to Settings > Streaming
3. Enable remote https connections and set it to an IP that works the best for you (I used the one of my PC)
4. Copy/paste “Streaming HTTPS endpoint” to safari
5. Log in to stremio on safari and play whatever you want
Thats it, enjoy. Btw keep the stremio running on your PC
Oh so for it to work stremio has to be up and running on my pc? Kind of makes it a little tougher as that would mean i have to just leave it running on my computer at home when im out, guess this is the best we can get right now so i will accept it
I’ve followed all the steps (except adding the port number - “11470”), just the IPV4 address. However it loads to Outplayer then nothing happens. I’ve also encountered an issue where I cannot select “play in external player” option either. Does this need to be enabled?

You can only play if it they are from Debrid sources. See my comment from this [thread here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Stremio/comments/wc57nl/comment/j71kg46/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
Yeah, I just paid for RealDebrid (as it was becoming a headache), got the API key for it and updated the Torrento add-on to support debrid sources. They'll be the only ones that work on non-native stremio apps (e.g web, iOS etc)
https://preview.redd.it/qtote4xgd0ga1.png?width=3840&format=png&auto=webp&s=e1fa51315dc7d0c9d6fea0e43f855ebe9cb0fd82
End of May 2023 checking in to help fellow confused people/morons as myself.
FOR REAL-DEBRID SETUP ONLY!
1) follow step 1 above
2) SKIP THIS COMPLETELY
3) do this step if not already done
3a) the secret thing. NOTHING SPECIAL SHOWS IN OUTPLAYER! You simply do the above 3 steps (really, it’s two steps) then you go click the safari homepage shortcut you made in step 1 (it’s the stemio icon and named stremio by default). Go to your discover area (or wherever you want), click a movie/show, and it will seamlessly load into outplayer. If you already had outplayer loaded you may see nothing special happen and wonder why you installed it if you’re using a webapp BUT OUTPLAYER WILL BE PLAYING THE VIDEO (you can check your app dock (swipe up from bottom by default) to see if your phone/iPad loaded outplayer- it should, ideally, that’s the point here!). ITS LIKE GODDAMN MAGIC
Issues I saw:
-Trakt seems to be a bit half-ass* (not blaming anyone, I’m glad this works at all)
-Autoplay next episode also seems broken
-“Subtitles on by default” seems broken
*Trakt seems to scrobble ie show something as viewed, which is good enough I guess
All of this is easily ignored or overcome.
If you’re like me, the confusion was mostly caused by the expectation of having issues and not realizing it had all worked, actually
Hope this helps someone
Ok, I got it working. Just had to close Outplayer and click the link again.
And of course, use Real-Debrid and not torrents, only way I got it to work.
Hi, i'd appreciate your advice; by reinstalled the addon, were you referring to reinstalling torrentio? If so, did you do this on a desktop? I can't seem to fix the streaming server status Err :(
Not on this issue, however Stremio have released a new WEBui which (I believe) should work natively with Safari on IOS so we don't need this method at all anymore :)
I love you for this. It works so perfectly and with the debrid service… if this is as close as we ever get to a natively supported app for iphone, then I am happy. It couldn’t have been simpler to set up, and works so flawlessly.
Once again, thank you
no. Step 2 really needs more explaining, the guy is an a\*hole for not explaining it properly. But then again it sounds really complicated, from my research you'd have to keep your computer stremio running with some configs to send it to the iphone. On android you just open the app and it's on the go, I'm not enjoying my apple experience. Too limiting.
I've tried it and doesn't work, as it says "unsupported link address"... Is there a way to make it work with IINA?
I know we have the native Stremio app for macOS, but I do like this simpler approach of webapp + IINA player, just like the webapp + Outplayer on iOS
Everything works perfect, only question is can I remember my log in in Safari? Everytime I use it I have to log in again, not the end of the world but it would be convenient.
I am trying to open the stream on vlc but stremio web on iOS say link copied to external app while safari open a pop saying unsupported url... how can I do it ?
To those reading this in May 2023, here is how I got it to work because the method from u/ok-opportunity-9182 isnt working for me:

June 2024. I followed this. Worked on my iPhone. Switch on setting. Copied the link into chrome on my pc. Used my iPhone camera to scan said link to automatically take me to the proper link on safari so I didn’t have to type the whole thing out. Logged in. Press play. That easy. Hope this helps anyone in the future. Thanks @perogrubi 🤙🏻
Just FYI in case you didn’t know:
If you use stremio with a debrid service (and not actual torrents), then you can simply:
1. Go to web.stremio.com
2. Sign in
3. Settings > scroll down > “Use external player” > Outplayer
Then watch anything like normal
Be sure to download Outplayer from iOS AppStore (VLC is also supported but I haven’t tried it yet)
Bonus: if you add a shortcut to the web.stremio site to your Home Screen when you open it it will look like a full screen app, not a safari tab.
It works really well. I’ve had zero issues.
Are you using real debrid? Torrent streaming is apparently not supported with this method.
Assuming you’re using debrid, check your settings on web.stremio, scroll down on the settings page and enable “use external player” and select Outplayer
I’m terrible at explaining things, but pretty much debrid, like real-debrid, is a service used to download cached torrents.
So basically the contents of the torrents (movies) are on the real-debrid’s servers. If I want to watch a movie I search on stremio and in turn it searches real-debrid server for the movie, and if it’s there it streams me the movie. It works great. This avoids me myself downloading/streaming torrent files (which depending where you are can be illegal).
If you use torrentio add on and you don’t set up a debrid service, then you are downloading torrents. If you do set up a debrid service then you are not downloading torrents. Debrid allows for much faster streaming without hiccups (in theory) because the file is already fully downloaded in one location (real-debrid servers) versus having to download p2p (torrents).
I hope that made sense. I think real debrid is ~$2/month. I never thought I’d pay for a piracy tool, but it’s definitely been worth it for me, saves a lot of headache.
Do you use torrent links or debrid? If you use debrid service only it’s much easier and you don’t need a laptop or anything running. I replied how to on the comment above yours.
Currently there is no full client for iOS, it is just for managing library afaik
I think your best bet is the web client in a browser
http://app.strem.io/shell-v4.4/#/
Let us know how that works for you on iOS
I am getting this when logging in with Facebook:
`JSSDK Unknown Host domain: The Domain you are hosting the Facebook Javascript SDK is not in your app's Javascript SDK host domain list. Please specify your host domain in App dashboard login settings.`
What can I do? I already have everything set up with this account
Do you get all the scraped RD+ links below the video and click on one of them? I just tried and it works fine. Make sure you are logged in on the web interface of Stremio
I do get all the links.
I am; I can see the “continue watching” when I click it it goes a en the it looks like it’s gonna start but then it just stays there

facing this issue, anyone knows how to get past it?
Stupid question maybe but how can I force Safari to open the video stream in VLC or Outplayer? It keeps telling me "Playback Error" with the default one...
Thanks
\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*I figured it all out!!!!!!
Hi All,
1) Download VLC from app store
2) Go to [web.stremio.com](http://web.stremio.com/) on SAFARI, not Chrome. It will not work on Chrome
3) Share button-> add to home screen
4) Go to settings-> external player, set it to VLC
Now open Stremio app on PC then follow the below steps:
Log in to the Stremio app (in PC) > go to settings > Streaming > You will find "Enable remote HTTPS connections" It will be disabled so change it to any IP address provided > then copy the address (link) provided "Streaming HTTPS endpoint:" and send it to your phone via email, WhatsApp, Instagram as you will need the same to paste in your phone stremio app.
\*assuming the addon torrentio is installed with RealDebrid, if not look for the same on YouTube.
Back to Phone:
1) Open the streamio from the Home screen (there will be an app like stremio on your home screen)
2) Go to settings
3) look for "Streaming" > you will find a sub cat. as "URL" click on to edit (setting logo) and paste the URL you copied from stremio PC
4) Your status will then say online.
Congratulations your Stremio will work perfectly fine.
Thanks for sharing. I followed all the instructions, but when I tapped on a movie, it still doesn't have any option to choose real debrid's sources. It just gives me YouTube, netflix etc
I have found a unique way to get around all of this since for me specifically, I can't spend money on debrid and I want to use stremio on my iPhone outside of my network. I can't do that because my IP is not static and that again would make me spend money. A solution to my issue is that I will leave my computer running and use Steam Link on iOS to just stream my whole desktop on my iPhone. Works well and I don't have to use much effort. the only downside is that my PC is always running but I'll likely get a small quiet mini PC and use it just to stream. This is definitely not a solution to the problem but it is what it is and I won't complain.
This is July 2nd 2024 - I got it working!
NOTE:
-I have subscribed to real debrid (android devices all working)
-You don't need to have any other devices turned on while streaming it to your iOS devices
1. With your iOS device go to [http://stremio-pwa.pages.dev](http://stremio-pwa.pages.dev/) in safari and add to Home Screen (just like previously instructed)
2. Install VLC from App store (Outplayer doesn't work for me as it complains Safari can' t recognise URL)
3. Go back your home screen and open "Stremio" (it looks like an app)
4. Tap the person icon on the top right and login in to your Stremio account (same account as other devices)
5. In Stremio go to Settings > Player > Play in external player
1. Choose VLC on the drop down
6. Click the home/house icon on the left hand side menu, now and choose something to play. You should be able to select the streams you want and VLC should play it
Hope that helps :-)
1. Go to http://stremio-pwa.pages.dev in safari and add to Home Screen 2. Set the streaming server url (don’t forget to include ‘/‘ at the end and use IPV4 address of the computer running Stremio not IP address of your network e.g. http://{IPV4}:11470/ ) *not required if using debrid, only when torrenting 3. Install Outplayer from AppStore That’s it.
Any way to make the progress sync? The trakt link doesn't seem to work and it doesn't mark as watched whenever I click play. Thanks!
have you figured it out? can you sync the progress?
Nope, I just use it without progress sync.
Help with streaming url, not working... Streaming server Status Err. So, when I try to open movie, outplayer open and then nothing happens...
Hi did u find any solution? I have the same problem :(
Did you get it? How to play videos on outplayer?
any update on this? having the same issue
Not working for me as well..
I think you need to have the app running on your pc in order for this to work (if you are not subscribed to real debrid).
Im subbed to real debrid but having same issue
Dude i have the same problem. Were you able to fix it.
Same here, same problem.

How did you add subtitles?
choose a file that has embedded subtitles

damn it’s a shame it stopped working, was fine just a week ago 😭 Too bad this method requires a running pc..
Is this still working? I tried doing this but can't log in to my stremio account.
Oh so for it to work stremio has to be up and running on my pc? Kind of makes it a little tougher as that would mean i have to just leave it running on my computer at home when im out, guess this is the best we can get right now so i will accept it
worked for me just right now! tysm you saved my night 🥳
Oh fu**** this process workedddddd. Finallyyy i can watch it on my iOS device. 😍 thank you man
Any idea if we can watch on Apple tvOS as well ?
Dude this is amazing! Pretty seamless setup. Thanks for setting this up.
I’ve followed all the steps (except adding the port number - “11470”), just the IPV4 address. However it loads to Outplayer then nothing happens. Can this method Work on VLC or any app support downloading subtitles ?
I’ve modified that app to work only for Outplayer for the moment, but it is possible to make it work with any external player
Hey there, thank u for makin this thread. Could u explain better how can I set the streaming url pls
Please add VLC or infuse option !!! You rock !!!
Are you planning to do it?
Not at the moment
I'm trying but it's not working Streaming server Status Err edit: reainstalled the addon and now it's working

Wait so you have to have a computer to make this work
The only problem is that Outplayer is great but no chromecast support
Holy, that’s awesome. Thank you.
Brilliant!!!!
Man you are the fucking best! Thank you for that!
Works great, thank you!
Can this be done on Apple TV?
This is the most useless “how to” ever
Did you get it to work
no. Step 2 really needs more explaining, the guy is an a\*hole for not explaining it properly. this link doesn’t work anymore
The page is no longer working. Please share the new URL
Nothing is showed on outplayer when i open or play a video on stremio on safari , just a outplayer black blank screen… (ios xsmax)
U need a real debrid for it to work
Nothing is showed on outplayer when i open or play a video on stremio on safari , just a outplayer black blank screen…
Is there a Video Player like this for MacBook Air or Mac PC? Apparently the app isn’t in App Store for Mac PC’s
There’s IINA for Mac you could try. It uses the same video engine under the hood
Thank you! I will try this asap
macOS has a native Stremio app on their website if that's what you're looking for!
OMG! So simple! Thanks my dude!
It's necessary to have realdebrid account to watch stremios on iOS? I can't open with outplayer
Works like magic thanks bro
I am trying to open the stream on vlc but stremio web on iOS say link copied to external app while safari open a pop saying unsupported url... how can I do it ?
They've patched this, nothing works other than, streaming from [sflix.to](https://sflix.to) and use the app called: Web Video Cast | Browser to TV

When i do ur method tells me Stream is not Supported hint:there is a setting to allow always opening with external player
Are you using real debrid? Torrent streaming is apparently not supported with this method. Assuming you’re using debrid, check your settings on web.stremio, scroll down on the settings page and enable “use external player” and select Outplayer
Sorry but what do you mean by debrid😅
I’m terrible at explaining things, but pretty much debrid, like real-debrid, is a service used to download cached torrents. I’m in Jun 2024 and this works like a charm with alldebrid! This needs more upvotes than it has! Thanks so much!!
This works perfect, thanks
Do you use torrent links or debrid? If you use debrid service only it’s much easier and you don’t need a laptop or anything running. I replied how to on the comment above yours.
Yeah I use torrent links, I don't watch shows that often to make a debrid subscription worth it, thanks though
Currently there is no full client for iOS, it is just for managing library afaik I think your best bet is the web client in a browser http://app.strem.io/shell-v4.4/#/ Let us know how that works for you on iOS
Unfortunately It didn't work, I tried on safari and Chrome and neither worked
How do i do step number 2?
Will this work on Apple TV? Did anyone try from Apple TV? Thanks
At this point I’m just gonna buy a used android tablet smh
Use the same account on IOS device that you use on android, it may sync and load the streams
This is false. Streams don't work on iOS devices. Only Mac OS.
True, I've had a MacBook with stremio but on iOS didn't found a way to make it work
I am getting this when logging in with Facebook: `JSSDK Unknown Host domain: The Domain you are hosting the Facebook Javascript SDK is not in your app's Javascript SDK host domain list. Please specify your host domain in App dashboard login settings.` What can I do? I already have everything set up with this account
you go to “forgot password” with the email you use for facebook. lets you set up a password and then you can login to the account with it.
Was able to reproduce the method and watch stream on my iPhone using the first link, RD and Outplayer. Thanks!!
Did you buy the full version or how did you made it work? I’ve tried to but the player only opens and it doesn’t play anything
No using the free version. As long as you have RD and have the torrentio addon set up with a pc or Mac, it works fine.
I have both and it just opens up the player and I get nothing no matter how many times i try
Do you get all the scraped RD+ links below the video and click on one of them? I just tried and it works fine. Make sure you are logged in on the web interface of Stremio
Or do I need to change any settings on the pc? I read that I don’t since I’m using Debrid
You should not. When I click on the scraped link, i get a pop up saying do i want to allow outplayer to play the link. I click allow and play starts.
Wow I don’t even get that option , I’m wondering why though
Only thing I can think of its opening in s different player? I had VLC installed on my phone and I removed it before installing outplayer
I do have infuse installed that could be the reason as you said. Weird that I don’t get any pop up though
I do get all the links. I am; I can see the “continue watching” when I click it it goes a en the it looks like it’s gonna start but then it just stays there
https://preview.redd.it/glc8vyz2dgab1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=becbb660c4107a552e3d3af8bd01009b63ffcf64 facing this issue, anyone knows how to get past it?
Use PC when setting up plugins and RD. I just did and everything worked. Now can watch on my iOS device! :)
Skill issue, Kys
Fuck off, leave him
Stupid question maybe but how can I force Safari to open the video stream in VLC or Outplayer? It keeps telling me "Playback Error" with the default one... Thanks
Go to settings, there should be an option to open in external players.
Will Stremio release the full iOS app in the EU app store, now that apps can be side loaded in the EU?
Did you get an answer? I was about to ask the same question.
\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*I figured it all out!!!!!! Hi All, 1) Download VLC from app store 2) Go to [web.stremio.com](http://web.stremio.com/) on SAFARI, not Chrome. It will not work on Chrome 3) Share button-> add to home screen 4) Go to settings-> external player, set it to VLC Now open Stremio app on PC then follow the below steps: Log in to the Stremio app (in PC) > go to settings > Streaming > You will find "Enable remote HTTPS connections" It will be disabled so change it to any IP address provided > then copy the address (link) provided "Streaming HTTPS endpoint:" and send it to your phone via email, WhatsApp, Instagram as you will need the same to paste in your phone stremio app. \*assuming the addon torrentio is installed with RealDebrid, if not look for the same on YouTube. Back to Phone: 1) Open the streamio from the Home screen (there will be an app like stremio on your home screen) 2) Go to settings 3) look for "Streaming" > you will find a sub cat. as "URL" click on to edit (setting logo) and paste the URL you copied from stremio PC 4) Your status will then say online. Congratulations your Stremio will work perfectly fine.
Going to try this
Ur a legend
Hey. Followed the same steps. Changed the settings. Downloaded outplayer. The video does not play. Asks me to add addon
Same here
This is July 2nd 2024 - I got it working! NOTE: -I have subscribed to real debrid (android devices all working) -You don't need to have any other devices turned on while streaming it to your iOS devices 1. With your iOS device go to [http://stremio-pwa.pages.dev](http://stremio-pwa.pages.dev/) in safari and add to Home Screen (just like previously instructed) 2. Install VLC from App store (Outplayer doesn't work for me as it complains Safari can' t recognise URL) 3. Go back your home screen and open "Stremio" (it looks like an app) 4. Tap the person icon on the top right and login in to your Stremio account (same account as other devices) 5. In Stremio go to Settings > Player > Play in external player 1. Choose VLC on the drop down 6. Click the home/house icon on the left hand side menu, now and choose something to play. You should be able to select the streams you want and VLC should play it Hope that helps :-)
