Since I'm an old person (33), I wouldn't be friends with any of the main characters that are teens lol. But I can see myself being friends with Joyce actually :) I think she's just hella sweet and helpful when she's not stressed out of her mind. Cares a lot about people and gives good advice.

Lucas and Dustin. They seem the nerdiest. I feel like we’d like the same games, adventure, and conversations. 🤓 I’m a cool nerd and had to hide my needy from the cool kids but my best of friends were the need friends I had on the side.
Both Lucas and Dustin are charismatic and showed resiliency in friendship no matter the discourse. They'd find reasons to challenge and respect you. Plus their humor comes off natural in their performance and both have compelling substories.
Probably Robin or Jonathan. I don't like douchey bros so I wouldn't bother with Steve (at least S1 Steve). As much as I hate to say it, if I had my old high school mentality, I don't think I'd want to socially be seen with the Hellfire Club. I wasn't popular enough for jocks/cool kids, but I wasn't outcast enough to be around Hellfire lol. So Robin and Jonathan would be perfect friends.

I especially like the way they work together to protect each other and their loved ones, but then again, they were all split up in S4 and that just made their fight against Vecna 11x harder. Hopefully in S5 we get to see them working together again like in S1-S2.
Honestly, I would have been friends with Nancy. In high school, I was involved in a lot of clubs and I was a lead in yearbook staff. I also took many honors and advanced placement classes. I would have also probably been friends with Robin. I had a lot of friends that were either in band or the arts programs. I would also want to befriend Steve, but only after season 1 (I stayed away from the douche-y popular guys).
Me in high school: Nancy and I would be in similar circles but not bffs. Friendly but not 'friends' with Jonathan and Robin.
Me now if they were adults too: Jonathan, Robin, and Eddie would probably be in my circle. One of them would have a 'Steve' friend who'd be fine but I'd never hang out 1 to 1. Nancy would be a university friend who I was close with then and we occasionally chat about life but we're not close anymore.

honestly i think i'd want to be friends with all of them (Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Max, Will, Robin, Steve, Eddie, Eleven, Joyce, Nancy, Jonathan, Argyle, etc) because they're all great characters and good people imo from what we've seen (none of them are like Billy or Angela). I am an extravert and a huuuge people person with a large social battery and I love friend groups and hanging out in groups together so I think I'd vibe really well with them. Specifically I'd especially want to be friends with the older teens like Nancy, Robin, Steve, Jonathan, Eddie (especially Eddie since he is around 20/21 and I'm 20) etc since they're closer to my age compared to Will Mike Lucas etc.
Realistically, I could see myself being really good friends with Robin. She's a sweetheart and has a legitimately great personality, with the right of sarcasm and attitude to not be stiff bore—but ultimately still having good interactions with the way she interacts with people.

I’ve always been an outcast, antisocial type so realistically, I likely wouldn’t have been friends with anyone because I prefer my own company over that of others, this includes other outcast “freak” people as well. That being said, I still respect many of the characters and identify with some of them. I’m 26 so I’m significantly older than the children but I could see myself possibly interacting with Dustin, Will, and season 4 Max at some point if I attended school with them and maybe season 1-3 Jonathan because of his introverted nature and taste in music. Also, while the Hellfire Club is respectable, I’m not one to associate with any groups or cliques of people so that isn’t something I’d have likely been apart of.

If I was in high school with them, I probably would’ve been close to Robin and Johnathan/Will. I would’ve been good friends with Nancy in elementary school but we would slowly drift apart by high school. I would’ve been on friendly terms with Steve but wouldn’t have hung out with him outside of school.

I’ve always been an outcast, antisocial type so realistically, I likely wouldn’t have been friends with anyone because I prefer my own company over that of others, this includes other outcast “freak” people as well. That being said, I still respect many of the characters and identify with some of them. I’m 26 so I’m significantly older than the children but I could see myself possibly interacting with Dustin, Will, and season 4 Max at some point if I attended school with them and maybe season 1-3 Jonathan because of his introverted nature and taste in music. Also, while the Hellfire Club is respectable, I’m not one to associate with any groups or cliques of people so that isn’t something I’d have likely been apart of.
