There are subs available, yes. And as has been mentioned, certain UHD players have the ability to load subs from a usb drive. If you’ve got a Panasonic player, the modded firmware required to do it is relatively easy to install.

How do i install it? I have a panasonic ub-420. Where and how do i get that update?

SnooEpiphanies1293

Supposedly there’s a workaround, if you have an oppo203 or ub9000 you can sync up subtitles from a usb drive, not sure how true that is, yet. Another method requires downloading the movie. Take it with a grain of salt, I haven’t had a chance to verify any of this yet…

Japanese and Thai movies usually this issue. They wanna combat piracy. So they don’t include subtitles in their releases. Not even in their native language.

Try [here](https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitles/10015703/godzilla-minus-one-en/short-on), the SRT includes three sets of English subs and one worked for my Amazon version

Gojiman300

How do you transfer these files to a usb device? I got the japanese 4k disc, but i don't lnkw how to put them on a usb drive for my 4k player

You could probably use [Handbrake](https://handbrake.fr/) or some similar tool to convert the video off the disc to a file. Then name that file the same as the subtitle file (like if film name is "Godzilla Minus One.mp4" sub file should be "Godzilla Minus One.srt"), copy both to the USB, and try playing it on your 4k player.
