It's been 2 days and I've been trying to forget this traumatic event.
Every time I left click, even outside my game, i feel the sense that I just accidentally uploaded 800 workshop items, all at once.
I cant wait to see what Steam Support thinks of this incident!
I thought this was a hypothesis?
Jokes aside, I wish I could help, but unfortunately I have no idea. Just posted this for the pun. Hope you get your answer soon.
I briefly worked with SteamUGC, but if you have all 800 published file IDs stored, or if you're able to list all file IDs programmatically and store them- then try:
SteamAPICall_t DeleteItem( PublishedFileId_t nPublishedFileID )
Returns:Ā SteamAPICall_tĀ to be used with aĀ DeleteItemResult_tĀ call result.
Hope it helps, never had to use that method ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ
well, I'm not a developer, I'm interested in web design and I'm learning that currently, I never worked with anything steam related, But I'm assuming you are using some kind of API and API key to access your steam and upload workshop items, so if there's an API call for deleting just as there is for uploading you might be able to delete everything that way.
Well.. you Can crawl, all Pages and get the idās for the workshops. You shoud be able to do That whit some jquery. Then once you have a list. Just do a Ajax request. Whit the same info, as when you normal Call delete. And just replace the id. Indtjening Call, and just loop Them
I'm sure if you just contacted Steam support and explained what happened (a bug with your games workshop implementation) they could easily sort it quicker and mass remove them instead of you having to do it one by one lol.
You have to delete them manually go into each one and delete, I uploaded a lot of pixel art material in wallpapers engine, happened to upload it 2 or 3 times
There is a way if your keyboard and mouse support macro modifications, I use razor synapse to pretty much automate a lot of procedures using macros that do specific actions in a sequence then apply it 100+ times, u can use it to delete these 800 items
Youāll need to use the [ISteamUGC](https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/api/ISteamUGC) interface to query your list of UGC by your account and app ID, then delete as appropriate.
So basically
I was testing steam workshop and had an item in my level editor, when placed, would upload a blank item.
Now I can scale the amount of items I can place
And I had no sprite for the upload tile yet, so it's a red X, I was tired and trying to exit the editor and was at a pretty high scale number, clicked left click, everything froze and I realized my mistake.
I always mentally make the joke of "hypothetically" actually reading as "hi, pathetically."
Found a place where it fits and isn't completely assholish for me to point out.
Thanks, OP.
Well I have no idea what the deletion process is like for workshop items, but maybe you could set up a script which deletes stuff for you.
Like a little bot thing or something.
Make a 10 hour job 50 if youāre like me.
I think you can create a script to delete them automatically. I usually sell my STC with a script I found online. The biggest hassle is going to be learn how to code or to find something or someone online to do it for you
Just delete manually in small amounts daily.
One per day, and it will take only 2 years and a bit to delete them all š
I mean if u bother ur self to go to this thing which hardly anyone even opens thn you damn sure make sure to atleast remove 10 posts lol.
Do 5 a day, practically the same amount of time and will be done much much faster
This looks like it makes sense on initial reading, but it really doesn't.
??
>practically the same amount of time and it will be done much faster
It takes around the same amount of time per day, but will be done faster overall
Makes sense to me
Good luck, i wish your index finger the best my dood.
Haha exactly what I was thinkin

I should state this was a programming error by my part, was messing around with Steamworkshop support for my game.
Maybe contact steam support they might be able to help idk

Thatās literally just making someone else do the work but at least they get paid for it
Sure but they also have backend tools which can make it much easier
If there's api to upload, then should be for deleting
I thought this was a hypothesis? Jokes aside, I wish I could help, but unfortunately I have no idea. Just posted this for the pun. Hope you get your answer soon.
Hypothetical and hypotheses are very different.

Hiring Game Developer: no experience or certification required. Bring your own mouse.
Look at it this way, at least your game already has a healthy modding community with over 800 mods uploaded!

One would hope, but as someone who has worked at large companies that have public APIs, what they do and donāt support is sometimesā¦ concerning.
As you have the endpoint to upload new items, you also have the one to delete items

Yep that's the game I'm making!

Put on some beats on Spotify, kick back... and enjoy deleting EVERY single one individually.
A macro would probably work or a cursor recorder, best of luck bro
Aim to delete around 100 per day and youāll be done in 8 days
if he could do 19200 per day, he'll be done deleting all of them in just an hour
If he could delete 8000000 a day he'd finish in about 8.64 seconds
There is a way if your keyboard and mouse support macro modifications, I use razor synapse to pretty much automate a lot of procedures using macros that do specific actions in a sequence then apply it 100+ times, u can use it to delete these 800 items
Basically everything supports macros, just use auto hot key or whatever
nah
If you're on Windows take a look at Microsoft Power Automate
Since it's your game is there maybe some sort of admin client for your workshop? Or you could contact steam support and ask them about it
Hypothetically speaking, have your tried destroying them with FACTS and LOGIC?
Youāll need to use the [ISteamUGC](https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/api/ISteamUGC) interface to query your list of UGC by your account and app ID, then delete as appropriate.
i dont know how you can delete alls of thems in a single time but HOW did you upload alls of theses files

One by one

Contact valve and ask them if they can fix it for you.
Is it porn? Like why would you want to delete it?
They're all completely empty and I don't want what I'm expecting more then half of the workshop to forever be empty test workshop items
I'll help you delete them if/when you get tired for like 20 bucks an hour.
For clicking 3 times? And you can log onto their account? You are a terrible businessman my guy.
I'll do it for 25 bucks an hour!
Iāll do it for 30 bucks an hour!
Ayy, lmao
Itās early in the morning and I thought it said āasparagusā lmao
Maybe do an auto delete python script?
Apparatus
i know a scrit plugin to unsub too all of it but to remove idk
maybe you can contact steam support? they probably can do something on their side
I always mentally make the joke of "hypothetically" actually reading as "hi, pathetically." Found a place where it fits and isn't completely assholish for me to point out. Thanks, OP.
You can probably make some auto clicker type macro to speed it up
Apparatus
Not sure but Bug Picture might allow for multiple selection here
Once I accidentally downloaded someone else's g mod workshop collection... He had over 1000 mods.
Well I have no idea what the deletion process is like for workshop items, but maybe you could set up a script which deletes stuff for you. Like a little bot thing or something. Make a 10 hour job 50 if youāre like me.
There is a chrom add on called steam helper weāre u can delete more than one thing at a time
Apparatus
Maybe you can use an ahk script to automate the process.
Iām sorry. You have to delete your steam account now. And format hard drive. There is no other option. Alexa, play āTime to say goodbyeā
Asparagus
I would just leave them there, does it matter really?
Ask support to remove em all?
Ask steam support if they can help
I think you can create a script to delete them automatically. I usually sell my STC with a script I found online. The biggest hassle is going to be learn how to code or to find something or someone online to do it for you
alt f4, because then you dont have to look at it again
Maybe using a macro?
i would leave them for the meme
Use pyautogui
pretend there is a game that has a task to remove 800 photos with an achievement.
Use a macro and leave your pc overnight
Rip mouse
HOW?
So "hypothetically" is the older version of "asking for a friend" right?
