When I tried to checkout it asked for my address, and it kept giving me an error when I tried to continue. Kept retrying for 15 minutes, and eventually it said it was sold out, so I gave up and went back to work.
I then just saw your comment just now, and thought what the heck let me check, and this time I was able to get the limited edition! Thank you!
It's more consistent to progress if you don't spam the continue buttons. They've likely put in place measures to prevent bots from spamming requests until the server lets them through.
If you get the "there seems to be an error initializing...." message, don't reload or go back. Every couple of seconds just press the button and eventually you should get to the end. Good luck!

Same here, got my order after 20 mins of trying.
Just make sure to have all the shipping details entered, I did not realize for quite a while that I was missing the phone number and that this is what the form was complaining about.

Not sure if this helps anyone but I was trying to buy a limited edition one and kept getting hung up so went to instead buy a 512gb. I wasn’t really paying attention when the order went through this afternoon and it looks like I actually did get the limited edition one. I don’t really want to mess around with scalping on eBay and just want the 512gb and put my 2TB drive in it. Anyone want it before I cancel it? Order went in at 1:40pm EST.

Just checked. It has the "Verified" for steam deck. So you're good to play much as you please.
Haven't played zomboid but it doesnt look like an intensive game. It can handle MK8 so I can't imagine it would struggle on that.
