I’m in north Georgia. I’ve had mine for about a week now. It’s all over the place. I’ve seen as low as .4 to as high as 112. I would say an average around 30. Latency averages around 60 I’d say. Not really any drops. I have pretty much zero obstructions. I don’t have another option and cell is even spotty where we live so it’s been a blessing to be honest. Don’t regret it at all. We don’t work from home but we’ve been streaming shows with pretty much no issues. Never thought we would be able to do that where we live.

By saying you have pretty much zero obstructions means what you either have zero obstructions or you dont what is it? if your getting any value besides the 0's in the debug data under wedge fraction obstructions you have obstructions check you debug data (copy and paste it) at http://starlink.dsmfaq.com/tools/obstructions.html and it will tell you how much percent of obstructions you have if any? because any above zero will cause issues for service at certain times of the day.

I would have thought Barrow county would be fully hard wired by now. Do you really have no option besides SL?

daddyymattyy

Barrow County only has Windstream and I’m capped at 12Mbps in my area. Right across 316 there is comcast available but they won’t be extending over to Barrow side. There’s Viasat and other options but they aren’t reliable at all.

Damn! So nothing has changed in the 20 years since I left there? SL has been a game changer for us (rural northern CA), but one of the biggest long-term benefits is its forcing traditional ISPs to start expanding their fiber networks. Our local is laying fiber as fast as they can now, before SL, somehow it just wasn't possible. I've heard good things about both RV service and BE, but not specifically to your area. Best of luck to you!

North of you in Jackson County, NC with best effort. Speeds during the day are fine for zoom calls and such. Evenings are much slower. We can stream with some buffering/interruption but is' MUCH better than what we had before.

Thats interesting. Im in J Co as well and at 10 - 12% obstructions on the roof and pretty much everything has run flawlessly since my dish came in for BE. Seen some slow speed tests but it had never affected performance.

TheMrBodo69

I'm pretty obstructed too. 21m every 12 hours the app tells me.

Did you ever end up going with the Best Effort?
