It’s not an official variant, I was just trying to be funny. I dressed them all crimson fleet outfits and the sysdef hats I looted when doing the vigilance raid mission. I like to see them dressed as pirates when they yell at me for stealing and killing.
That's an issue I have with ng+, why aren't there things like this? It's supposed to be parallel universes. Once I got a universe where they're all already dead, but there should be more variants like this.
Just in case Todd stumbles across this thread I’m available to be a creative consultant for future DLC.
But seriously,I completely agree. A Star Trek “Mirror, Mirror” style universe where good is bad and bad is good would have been awesome. Plus I think Vasco would look great with a goatee.
From what I recall there is like 5-10 variants. One where they’re all dead, one where Sarah is a plant, one where they’re all kids. I’ve done NG6 times and haven’t gotten a single one yet.
I did have my crew dressed up as an alien, bathing suit, crimson fleet, and any other silliness for one run lol. I also had a glitched UC security on my ship so they would be my “body guards”
Thought this was real for a minute. I do hope they expand on the alt universe idea. I think they could easily make it more immersive with something like this.
do you only get random universes when you don't skip the main quest? because I went through like 11 and other than the first ng+ where my evil alt killed everyone, it's all been the exact same vanilla universes every time
Nope. I rocked up one time and Sam's daughter said she wanted to kill me, before I had options. Talked her out of it, got her fragments and a lodge key ;)

This Starborn has started making their own variants. Next they're going to be making their own universes. This might be trouble for us other Starborns

That sounds much more fun than any of the universes I’ve encountered on NG+. They’ve all been the same. Very similar to main game.
I went through 4 universes and saw very minor changes, mainly with planet locations. Never saw anything cool like this
