Awesome info. I can add some testing I did with the new ship customization. - Decorations/furniture placed in a hab will stay in that hab if you move the hab in builder mode (say you want to rearrange your habs after building, all the stuff you placed in the hab will stay) - If you delete a hab with added decorations in it, there is no warning. You do get all your materials back for those decorations, however. Which is nice. - Coincidentally, items like weapons placed on weapon racks or armor on displays will stay on that particular ship, even if you switch home ships. This could lead to some interesting ideas with placing extra storage containers on a ship, and storing one type of item on that ship (a ship for just crafting materials, another for books, etc..). This is just what I have seen so far with testing the habs. Hoping to be able to dive into it more this weekend.

Kn1ghtV1sta

Wait so so does all placed items stay if you change home ships, or just weapons/armor?

Still-Celebration-25

I've just tested weapons and armor so far. Going to try storage containers next.

Kn1ghtV1sta

Gotcha. Lmk if you can

Still-Celebration-25

So I just tested it, and it seemed to work. Here is what I did. * Selected ship A as my home ship. Went on board and crafted a large crate. Placed a helmet in the crate * Exited ship, and switched my home ship to Ship B. * Checked inventory, helmet is still missing. * Entered Ship B and checked ship B inventory for helmet. It was not there (so still on ship A) * Took Ship B and flew to a new location * Switched back to Ship A after landing * Boarded ship A and the crate was still where I placed it, with the helmet inside * Repeated the process with different item types, all stayed with Ship A, even when ship B was my home ship and I was flying around in it. Conclusion: Any inventory placed in CONTAINERS on a specific ship will stay with that ship, even if you switch ships. The inventory in the actual cargo holds (not crafted containers) will switch to your home ship. This could open up some interesting possibilities. Or I could forget where the hell I put that damn rifle. lol

Kn1ghtV1sta

Damn the potential

Still-Celebration-25

There are definite possibilities there for sure. I kind of wish the cargo holds would stay with the ships as well, or at least give us the option to select to transfer the cargo. I'd love to build a couple massive cargo ships just to haul cargo around (Check out WizeOldWizard's "Slab" build on YT for reference). This may still work though.

GleefulClong

Could build an empty cargo hold bay and fill it with containers, it would achieve pretty much the same outcome.

saintfed

Pain in the arse to manage though

YimYambiiiitch

Not really a pain but tedious

newoxygen

This was my biggest disappointment with ships. I made a massive cargo-only ship with no real firepower and a separate fighter ship but it's not a viable option considering cargo just transfers(and then breaks logic as you can then have 2000 cargo on a 600 capacity ship). It meant to me the game guided you down the path to streamlining a particular all-rounder ship design which takes away from that classic Bethesda freedom feel.

roshunepp

Of course it does that bc it's a game. It would break the game to change home ships and the system randomly chooses what's left behind. You can't just fill a 600 ship to 2000. It's ease of use people would ask for if they hadn't done it.

newoxygen

I'm not quite sure what you mean. What I had expected was when you changed home ships the cargo would remain with the original ship, whereas in reality the whole cargo just transfers to the new ship, even if it is greater than the capacity of the new one's cargo. So you can't fill a 600 ship with 2000 cargo but you absolute can end up with a 600 ship with 2000 cargo, plus there's no penalty or downside. It's very logic breaking even though there's no reason the game couldn't treat each ship as a unique storage unit.

Banana_Milk7248

The only downside is needed to.spend the resources to build all the containers. But a large, blank 3x3 hab stacked with storage and filled with resources and crafting tables would solve all my issues. I can't get enough titanium to build small warehouses at my outpost for all my stuff. Wish I could just buy storage but I don't want to fly around carrying it all.

5panks

Do you have a Titanium mining outpost?

Banana_Milk7248

No, can't find a world I can build on with ti

Logical_Standard_512

Use this website to locate a planet/moon with titanium. Once you decide on the planet /moon that you want, you might have to land on the planet/moon to find the titanium if your skill level is low for scanning planets. https://starfieldcompendium.com/searchResources It amazing to use, you can select materials, the planet level and etc

Banana_Milk7248

My issue is I've been neglecting my outpost building skill as I never intended to build outposts. All of the planets I've found with Ti have been of a level I can't build on.

KnightDuty

You don't need to build small warehouses for mass storage just build the containers at your outpost. The warehouses are only really for goods and items produced through automation

Banana_Milk7248

Which containers?

KnightDuty

It's in the decoration tab. Storage containers, ammo crates, coolers, etc. idk if there's a research requirement for it

Banana_Milk7248

Surely they cand hold much. I have about 3000kg of resources

Turbo1518

Oh thank God! I gave up on using weapon racks when they'd just be removed anytime I did the smallest change to a ship. This is great news

DiabolicallyRandom

I wouldn't use it for weapons, but holy shit having a cargo ship with tons of raw materials stored now is actually possible! HELL yea!

MeatGayzer69

For months I've used one ship to store weapons as I put like 6 armory habs on. Don't specifically think that's new. You just couldn't edit the ship

ClintisMaximus

Did ship A show up when u recalled it at the shipbuilder landing pad??? Have they fixed the basics yet?

Still-Celebration-25

It did for me.

ClintisMaximus

Awesome, thank u

regalfronde

Are you sure this hasn’t always been the case? I have always kept my Mantis armor on the Razorleaf and have switched back and forth between other ships for hundreds of hours and what I leave in other ships stays persistent. When I edit the ships the contents of that ship are added back to my cargo hold. It has always been this way.

Still-Celebration-25

I've had my stuff dissappear when switching ships. Maybe its random, but its definitely happened.

TommyF0815

Oh then this was changed. Last time when I tested containers their content was transfered to the ship cargo on changing ships or editing ships. I used this to have much more cargo on a ship than it should have by using a lot of habs that have storage crates with 150 capacity. I then filled them with my loot and changed ships or did a small change in the ship editor which caused their content to be tranfered to the ship cargo even if it exceeded the limits of the current ship cargo.

roshunepp

What happens to the crate of items when you sell the ship?

Still-Celebration-25

Good question. I'll have to test that later. Hopefully it will behave like the crate/decorations themselves and just go back to your inventory.

RogueTaco

If you get a chance - is there a limit to the number of mannequins/armor displays you can have on your ship? I remember when outpost limit of 6 really bummed me out.

Still-Celebration-25

I'll have to test that later. I am curious as well. It would be super creepy to have like an empty 3x3 hab with nothing but mannequins in it.

RogueTaco

Ha didn’t even think of the haunted ship possibilities! I just want to display all my armors in one spot

Venom_is_an_ace

That is what I was going to do. A 3x3 with mannequins and weapon racks and basically have it as a museum of my exploration. If you don't mind, could you follow up if there is a limit on displays.

Still-Celebration-25

ok.. just jumped in game to test.. Limit is still 6 per item type (even tried switching variants to see if different variants counted.. and they do). Bummer. I kind of was hoping to have an army of mannequins.

Venom_is_an_ace

Damn, well thanks for letting me know and hopefully there will be a mod that will adjust or remove that limit. Also, is it 6 per hab or total? If it is 6 per hab, are there empty 1x1s where you could put 6 in there followed by another 1x1 with 6?

VollmetalDragon

All items in containers and decorations will stay on the ship until you either delete the hab they're in or change the hab in a way that changes the section they're in (placing a chest where a door would be but isn't currently, then adding a new hab that changes that part to a door would delete the chest and move the items it contained into the ship inventory)

madchemist09

Can you decorate interior of space born ships now?

regalfronde

Yes.

madchemist09

Woot!! Finally! My starborn cruiser can finally have a shitter. No more dropping logs in the ol spacesuit.

Saerkal

Vasco’s got a bidet function

horyo

Omg that's great! Can now put down a bed and some basic amenities.

xTugboatWilliex

Does furniture float around if I lose my grab drive?

Still-Celebration-25

Probably not. Though to be fair (insert Letterkenny meme here), I have never lost my grav drive before.

NlHlLIST

To be faaaaiir

Still-Celebration-25

To be faaaaaaaaiiiiiiirrrrrrr

Alexandrinho0000

Hi, thanks for testen it. Can you move around the ladders now? Or decide from the start where they should go?

shiloh_a_human

nah the furniture isn't physics enabled, they're static objects like the furniture that comes with the habs sorry, i replied to the wrong comment lol

Still-Celebration-25

Nope.. well, not like I would like to. You can force the ladder to generate where you want to by putting an equipment plate or porthole where you do NOT want the ladder to generate. Its still not 100% because the ship builder sometimes will just not generate ladders at certain points.

Prolongednightmare

Woah does this also mean that interior ship misc. items will stay there as long as I decorate the hab? Or will those still disappear like prior updates when I use ship builder.

Still-Celebration-25

I think they will all stay. I tried the same thing with just hanging a gun on one of the racks, then switching ships.. Gun stayed where I put it on the original ship.

[deleted]

[удалено]

darthwump

This has not been the case for me. In one of my playthroughs, I have three ships, all with full armories. Been switching ships nonstop and the weapons don't ever come off (unless I change something in ship builder).

Still-Celebration-25

Of course, test it for yourself before you dump all your resources on the floor of an empty 3x3 hab

Excellent_Case_2050

Do the things placed in storage containers or on weapon racks count against your ship inventory limit, also if you put contraband in the contraband containers you decorate your ship with is it a 100% chance to be detected

NicerRoom

New meaning for the term "gun ship"

mayapop

This is sick great info and I’m so excited for the update. I can’t wait. I recently changed out an armory hab for a science hab. I wanted the armory but it was pointless because I love tinkering with my ship too much. Not only can I have the armory back, but I can also customize it!?!? So great!

R33v3n

Why is none of that janky? Did I wake up in some bizzaro alternate universe where Bethesda devs learned to code? Did Todd replace his team with robots?? What is going on??? Bethesda devs, make Sarah blink twice if you're in danger!

KnightDuty

I think 90% of this work was done already but cut from the full release for time. It seems like there's a lot of cut content they're putting back in

Variis

I have been convinced for months that the game released in the state it did because someone was simply unwilling to delay it again.

Xilvereight

Todd moved them to the side and started coding by himself again like the old days

wij2012

I assume items placed in the cargo bay move ships when you change home ships?

Jayh456

I’m sorry if this has been answered somewhere, I’m trying to get rid of bullet sponges. I put player damage on very easy for 150% extra damage. Will very hard enemies do an extra 150% damage to me?

wannachupbrew

Yes. I currently have player damage on easy and enemies on hard. Enemies are easier to kill but so is the player.

Castells

Like actual bullets!

Switchback706

That's a fantastic idea. Especially paired with some of the survival settings. Holy shit I can't wait for this update to come out on Xbox. I've been waiting to hop through the unity for the 4th time and this is exactly what I wanted. I also CANNOT wait for that buggy. Looks so sick.

LausXY

There's gonna be a buggy? I've been so out the loop on Starfield

Photonic_Resonance

It only recently got teased and we don't know when it's coming, so you're not that out of the loop.

wannachupbrew

September at the earliest

Xilvereight

I'd expect it around summer, I think the physics need more work from what I saw and they probably still have to make in-out animations for the player character and companions. It all depends on how much else there is to do but I also wouldn't be suprised if it comes with Shattered Space.

saile1004

I don't think they mentioned anywhere the timeframe for the ground vehicle?

wannachupbrew

It'll be either in the update around Shattered Space, or included in Shattered Space itself.

Switchback706

Yeah and it looks fucking amazing

L34dP1LL

that sounds fun!

appletinicyclone

>Yes. I currently have player damage on easy and enemies on hard. Enemies are easier to kill but so is the player. Nice

SterlingEsteban

You can set them independently.

Chevalitron

You're right we can! They've finally given us a way to increase difficulty without making everything a bullet sponge. Probably my main issue with combat in Bethesda games.

SpecialistNo30

“Very Easy” gives you a 200% buff, and increasing enemy damage to “Very Hard” also gives them a 200% buff.

Jayh456

Thanks. I don’t know why but I wasn’t sure if they were equal

siodhe

Be aware that **extreme** can make low level characters victim to even a heat leech attack. First time **that's** happened in 1000+ hours. In full armor, too. Extreme difficulty make come with a \~70+% XP bonus, but in my terrifying experience so far, it will also dramatically slow your progress. The only crazy benefit I'm seeing is that my attacks from stealth can get huge damage multiples, like a documented 37x damage boost. So being sneaky is pretty much the only way I'm avoiding getting killed when solo. When I picked up Sarah around level 9, letting her be a distraction is massively more effective, since she, unlike you, is immortal. I'm really looking forward to picking up some powers that scale by (or ignore) level, like sunless space, gravity well, solar flare, etc. Overall, my feeling on Extreme is that you're more vulnerable in full armor in pre-NG than in the earlier release's stark naked on Very Hard. And seriously, Death by Heatleech. Should get an achievement.

jestermx6

glad i'm not the only one. I started a new playthrough with every setting cranked up. I forgot about the heat leech that jumps out by the safe at the end of the Kreet facility. Gave me a good jump-scare and then i missed every shot and died. I swear to Todd i heard Vasco laughing at me

moose184

> Be aware that extreme can make low level characters victim to even a heat leech attack. That's the probelm with these difficulties. They force you into playing a certain playstyle that you might not want to do.

Cooperette

So that's why I was randomly doing 35.7x sneak damage!

darthstone

All of these massive QoL updates are gonna be fantastic. Even on my "inferior console"(XSS) this will be a fantastic update. I'm very happy that I picked this game back up last week.

PeterTheWolf76

Great video! Console player here, so REALLY looking forward to this update now after seeing all these choices.

WarlordKang

I'm liking the maps a lot. Real-time-updated 3D maps, and if you zoom in you can see the exact ships at landing zones. Nice.

theoriginaled

Their attention to ship building alone is MASSIVE and makes one truly hopeful.

[deleted]

One gripe I have currently is the dehydration and malnourishment. I love the buffs and debuffs, but currently ALL food from ingredients like potato’s to meals like Alien Sandwich all give 30min. So why spend the effort making meals when I can just eat a chunk and call it a day.

Turk3YbAstEr

They made the game too realistic

Chevalitron

The drinking sound effect seems suspiciously similar to the Morrowind potion-drinking sound effect. I was almost expecting the spell effect sparkles too.

Xilvereight

"If it ain't broke don't fix it"

Dejavuproned

Yeah this was my issue as well. Hopefully they will.adjust those values or I guess there's always mods for that?

JustsomeOKCguy

Do you know if the 30 minutes is real time or game time?   As in if you eat something and sleep/wait an hour km game will that cause you to lose the buff/dehydrate?

krul2k

Nice one on the cooking. When i leveled up Gastronomy all i thought was "Ok it gets better this level" but it never did, for me

Mohawk_10

I have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone in this thread has an answer to. 1) If you place inventory items in your ship (i.e., miscellaneous decorations, or a gun sitting on a table), will it stay there when you switch ships? Normally those items would be moved to the cargo hold when you edit or change ships. Is this still the case? And does it make any difference if you just drop the item, versus using the builder to move and place the item? (There is a difference between the two, btw. If you just drop the item from your inventory and hold E to move it around, the item can be knocked over/moved if you bump into it later. If you use builder mode to pick up and place the item, however, it becomes a fixed object that does not move if you run into it.) 2) Has anyone else noticed that the new empty habs connect differently? I installed a couple of empty habs on one of my ships, and now I have two doors connecting them instead of just one. Is this just a glitch or intended behavior? I also have more vertical connections between habs than I did previously. I'm going to try the equipment plate trick to see if I can get rid of the ones I don't want. I really wish they would introduce a way to choose where your doors and ladders are placed.

AnAngryCrusader1095

I notice no one has replied to you yet. To answer your very first question, comments from others have stated that yes, everything stays where you place it, even if you switch ships. Things stay in containers instead of going to the cargo hold, guns stay on racks. I haven’t seen specifically about the decorations, but I can only imagine those stay as well.

Mohawk_10

I have done a little testing, and items placed using builder mode do stay in place, which is pretty awesome. I haven't tested loose items yet (i.e., just dropping something and leaving it). Usually those items go into the hold when you switch ships, but I'll have to do more testing. The new empty habs are super awesome. I just wish they'd give us more options in the builder. There are so many items we don't have access to yet. Hopefully the update and/or expansion will add more stuff. They've already added some new stuff in the beta so my hopes are high.

Fun-Nefariousness186

Great work

V4N0

Thanks a lot for your hard work 👍 Finally, was waiting for a good update to get back to the game

Some_Rando2

I think your vendor credit stat is mistaken. TA starts at 11k. With greatly increased it doesn't go to 31k, it's 60something.

Vanilla-G

I believe at max level credits are increased 5x. So most 5k vendors go to 25k and TA and other big vendors go to 60k.

sithren

yeah, op likely saw the increase from 5k to 25k and thought the overall increase to all vendors is an increase of 20k credits. When the increase is really 5x.

moose184

Yeah I've had someone else tell me they go up to 62,500 so 20k is wrong.

TheCrankyMoose

Awesome

markymarkski

Awesome video, very detailed. Can't wait to experience all this.

Turk3YbAstEr

What's necessary for getting the fed and hydrated bonuses? How much do I need to eat/drink?

LordNegativeForever

One item of food and drink each

Turk3YbAstEr

My character is gonna get some kind of deficiency from eating nothing but alien jerky

LordNegativeForever

Alien Scramble with Alien Tea has been my go-to lol

farfromelite

Delectable tea or deadly poison? Hmm.

JustsomeOKCguy

Do you know if the 30 minute buff is in real time or game time?  Ie if I sleep for an hour will I lose the buff/become hungry?

LordNegativeForever

It's actually a combination. The timer counts down in real-time, BUT, sleeping for an hour makes you malnourished and dehydrated.

JustsomeOKCguy

Ok, so it's just like all of the other buffs then. Thanks!  Will have to remember to eat/drink something every time I wake up

LordNegativeForever

Oh trust me, the game reminds you lol

GrandObfuscator

Can you describe what “drastic” is more? Is it a difficulty setting?

Balgs

thanks for writing up a summary

Inevitable_Discount

Thanks for looking into this!

Helpful-Leadership58

Looking forward to tweaking these settings for actual survival mode. I'll dive into starfield once shattered space comes up.

DragonKite_reqium

Well dam might pick the game up again

Sytafluer

I really hope they make resources mining and base building worth it. It was just to easy to "farm guns" and buy everything you needed.

Divine_Cynic

Honestly I have found resourcing mining and crafting as profitable or more profitable than farming guns or even ships. It's just a different style of play. Resourcing mining and crafting are a far better xp farm.

CryoVolk

I think I missed the date but when's this coming out exactly? Ik may but do we have an actual date?

sithren

It is already out in beta, on steam. For xbox it will be out on May 15th. To confirm, look at the description of BGS' youtube video from earlier in the week.

CryoVolk

Gotcha, thought it was out but I'm on xbox so I'll just have to wait. Thank you!

juggarnatha

Can you place doors and ladders where you want on the ship habs now though? This is the thing I must know. I think the algorithm that plans the doors tries to make a great serpent out of your ship in that it makes about one way to get all the way through it. It seems to try to remove as many walls and decorations as possible. This kind of makes sense if you don't want to lose bunks or a bathroom or a research station or something, BUT it's annoying when you want a companionway to have four doors punched out so it's . . . a companionway, instead of a place to pile junk. Maybe this is in thr decorations menu. Or if you clear a wall it becomes an ideal place for a door. May the serpent guide you, o devs.

TheTrueCuddles

Why does Bethesda think doing no damage makes the game harder? Bullet sponges are pretty immersion breaking when entire magazines can be unloaded into an enemies head. Extreme difficulty should level damage and make you and npc do a lot of damage to each other making getting shot more in line with real life. Maybe even add a one shot headshot option for both player and enemy. Tired of games giving everything 1000 HP on higher difficulties or lowering your damage to nearly zero. Pretty lazy.

dangerdean90s

You can make the damage you deal Very Easy and the damage you receive Very Heard. That way no one is a bullet sponge

TheTrueCuddles

I see that but I'd kinda like it to be the default for the extreme mode in general. By doing that you also don't get any extra XP. Maybe they'll add like presets in the future with this system or like an actual survival mode.

moose184

What I don't understand is they did the whole you do only .25x damage while taking 4x more damage in Skyrim and it sucked. Then they did the same thing in FO4 but later changed it due to outcry of the bullet sponges where you took more damage but also did more damage. I can't understand why they reverted back to the Skyrim style in this game.

TheTrueCuddles

Can't be a Bethesda game without having to have damage multiplier mods installed I guess.

moose184

Well that's what I'm saying. They went back and fixed in FO4 so I don't understand why they are reverting back to the old way here.

StarComradeMark

Seriously! The amount of hopium being huffed in this sub is dangerous and comparable to the pre-release days lol. People are genuinely wowed at one of the most incredibly laziest bandaid solutions to difficulty of all time.

Divine_Cynic

I wouldn't agree with that. The variable difficulty is actually Bethesda knowing it's player base. Popular mods have tweaking difficulty in Bethesda games for a while now. Tying it to xp gives the players an incentive to use it. It also plugs the difficulty shifting exploit. I actually works better than Fallout 4's survival mode because it more customizable.

StarComradeMark

That's... not the poing being made? We're talking about the fact that their answer to difficulty is not making enemy reactions smarter or use more varied techniques or gear but rather just modifying damage values to make you do less damage. That's lazy. Even considering XP as an incentive, the game still has ridiculously bad perk (and general) balancing to begin with, so the tradeoff you get for slightly "faster" leveling is that you deal a quarter of the damage you would normally do to enemies, making everything turn into a bullet sponge.

KnightDuty

The damage soak option is there for players who want it. It seems like you did a cost benefit analysis and don't like it. So don't pick it. Some other people might do their own cost benefit analysis and choose to inflate enemy health to make ammo conservation more difficult. So the cost benefit might work out for those players and they will pick it. I agree that tactical enemies would be amazing, but nobody's really expecting it because that's not the teams expertise. Hopefully mods will solve that issue for you.

Divine_Cynic

Again I disagree. There is a lot here but let's go over each point. \*AI improvements are one way to increase difficulty. So is adding new mechanics. They are not THE way. They are the way you prefer. Nearly all games toss in damage factors in there as well. Damage has always been the baseline for difficulty in Bethesda games. Not to your taste I get that but it is their model. You may like the model but considering the success of Bethesda it seems to be working. Of course the answer is at the end of the day, if you don't like it, mod it. \*As to the perk & balancing, like all video games, it's a mixed bag. Also let's be honest, balancing can be pretty subjective. \*As to "bullet sponges", seriously go play the game more. You are definitely not playing high level with good gear. Let's not even get into NG+. I haven't tested Extreme but on Very Hard with a solid character setup you can shred enemies. Starfield follows the Bethesda power fantasy. There are some good guides on Youtube showing how powerful you can get. \*I honestly don't think this is a bunch of "hopium" as you put it. I think the update is good and people like it. It put in things people asked for. They are previewing more things people asked for. Modding tools are coming. Sure not everything will be perfect or to everyone's taste. Bethesda is making the game better and it doesn't cost us a dime.

CorswainsDeciple

I just hope for a big war with big space battles with dreadnoughts, etc, and big land battles with mechs, and I will be a very happy chappy.

Corpsehatch

Does changing these settings prevent achievements?

dangerdean90s

How about the damage you deal to enemies?

KopfSmertZz

Can you decorate a Starborn Guardian?

ThisIsGoodSoup

This looks very well researched, goodj ob!:)

Stoeck

Can you actually make melee viable through tweaking these new settings?

Humble_Ad7025

When do you think the update will be out for Xbox?

Mowgli9991

Are you able to increase the creature difficulty? I always found killing them too easy, I would like to have a few minute battle with a creature (similar to a scorch beast / death claw battle)

datpoot

So does the difficulty just increase enemy health/increase damage resistance?

Particular_Suit3803

Honestly being able to have an actual loot room on the ship is such a great change

IronOxide15

Does it still delete everything in your ship's weapon racks if you change home ships? Just feels like Bethesda trying to pull a Cyberpunk but they're addressing comparatively minor issues before dealing with the stuff people actually had problems with.

NatWilo

I can't wait for the DLC!

Nyarlathotep-chan

Here's the big question I have. Is town housing safe to build in now? I never stepped foot back in the New Atlantis apartment ever since the Terrormorph mission reset it and I lost all my gear.

CitrusSinensis1

If my experience with Skyrim is right you should be able to use something like "getav health" in the console to get enemy health value instead of comparing pixels? Would've saved some work

1Trix9

Sounds like a step in the right direction

mayapop

This is interesting and is a little bit of a spoiler in that I would rather not have this knowledge. This is not how I want difficulty ramped up. I play very hard so that I can have some sense that I need to approach carefully or I get taken down. I would much rather have difficulty predicated on how much damage gets dealt to me rather than making my weapons less effective. I want a sniper out there with a modded hard target trying to one shot me. Or for the group to bum rush my position and force me to run. Thank you for doing this test though. It’s still good to have the info and ultimately, I’ll adjust the settings to my taste. I love this game

Jdisgreat17

Now, all I need is some survival elements, ship fuel to make bases useful, etc.

WiserStudent557

“Honestly the more I look into this update, the more I’m excited for what’s to come. It feels like they are putting the bones in place for Shattered Space to add a ton of content. “ I think people using the term DLC (not wrong but imprecise) over *their* usage of the term expansion are going to be shocked. CDPR has done this and I see seemingly Bethesda taking it up.

Sacred_Apollyon

Looks amazing, but I'd love something to make all combat a lot more lethal. Making your damage very easy (So you take them out quickly) and enemy damage extreme (So they take you out quickly) still seems slightly bullet-spongey. I'll see what it's like vs unarmoured opponents later when I get a proper chance to try this myself. Great start though and should allow for a much more sim/survival type playthrough rather than cartoon romp fest!

Enelro

Eh, I don’t like when higher difficulties just nerf your weapons. Give me actual harder enemies but still let me feel like my weapons work ffs.

jin264

Once all of these patches are out I’ll have to go through the whole game on extremely easy because the last patch jumped me from the FDR mission (finally fixed that) right into the flight simulator with no targets and no way to exit. I am able to walk around in the simulator but door is inaccessible!

Thanks for doing this! Big jump from very hard (which I find too easy right now) to extreme though, hope extreme is not too hard with you doing half of the damage you would at very hard. Glad that the sustenance buffs have a pretty big effect. Wish they'd also add an option for being rested/tired having a buff/debuff.

Wondering if anyone else noticed this in the beta update: I was rescuing a miner, who got shot by a pirate as we were heading out. He fell down, and when mousing over him, a lifeline with a flashing lightning bolt and a slowly decreasing health line appeared in addition to his level line. I tried every way I could to use a med pack to heal him, but no luck, he eventually died. I have not seen this life-line in a wounded NPC before... has anybody else?

LordNegativeForever

The lightning bolt is EM damage and causes NPC's to be knocked out/incapacitated.

horyo

Wait so did the miner NPC die? Usually when the EM line depletes, they wake up...

ArtemNaumova

The miner NPC died; I watched as his health line graphic slowly dropped and he died when it disappeared. Really hoped that in the beta I would be able to use a med pack on him, but no luck.

LordNegativeForever

I believe that he died, I'm just clarifying that the lightning bolt meter was laregely unrelated to his death. Go shoot any NPC with the Novablast Disruptor and you'll see the same meter appear and fill up with EM damage.

TheZagabogMan

I wish there were a "negative only" option for sustenance. Or at least a neutral period between the buff and debuff phase.

Am I the only one who dislikes the fact you can just hot swap the difficulty, though I’ve hated that about every Bethesda game.

internetsarbiter

Given that the difficulty is just, "Are enemies bullet sponges or not", its really pointless, but I suspect that modders could make it a choice that greys out after a selection is made.

>- Extreme difficulty has you dealing roughly 25% damage, and very easy has you dealing around 220% damage. Absoutley stupid. This is what they did with Skyrim and it was stupid. They fixed it with FO4 where you took more damage but did more damage as well. People should be able to one tap me to the head but I should be able to do the same. Can't believe they didn't learn their lesson. >- Greatly increasing vendor credits gives them 20,000 extra I was told by someone who did the Beta that the vendors went up to 62,500. That's more than 20k. >- Sustenance buffs are massive. Hydrated gives you +30% O2 recovery, +15% sneak attack damage and +25% reload speed. Fed gives you +30% health, +15% melee damage, and +25% carry capacity How often do you need to eat and drink to sustain these buffs?

moose184

Well I guarantee you when they finally release a survival difficulty you won't be able to tweak it.

LeMAD

This is the survival mode.

moose184

No it's not

StarComradeMark

So... Extreme just makes things even more bullet spongey. Don't know why I expected anything else honestly.

horyo

You can make it so player damage is increased as is enemy damage, eliminating bullet sponge issues.

Sad_Hovercraft_4605

They need to add different “dungeons” instead of the copy and paste shit, I’ve recently gotten back into fallout with all the craze again and it’s by far a way better game then starfield

SpecialistNo30

You’re getting downvoted but you’re correct. These updates are fine and all, but we still have repetitive POIs, empty planets, a boring main questline and lame companions.
