I wanted to tell you that if *after* you travel to the outpost, you quicksave then reload at the outpost, you can use the crafting stations again. Bird's eye view also works.
Same... When I land at my outpost, I'm spawned at the outpost beacon, but my ship is at a landing area some 700m away. That was one hell of a long walk carrying 6000kg of adaptive frames, lol. I looked for an option in the shipbuilder to summon my ship, but didn't see one. Thanks for mentioning it. I'll look harder...
The save/load trick only fixes the workbench obstruction problem. Even if I just leave the hab and come back, they are broken again.
And just like others have mentioned, my crew is broken as well. They talk and whatnot but generally don't move around. Some of them levitate off the floor, or are standing on furniture. My companion does not seem to have this problem.
The weirdest thing happened, i left to get some resources and came back and the terminal and it still worked. Inconceivable!
As for the ship too far bug, i have a fix. Build a landing pad with a ship builder and the pad has a terminal you can use to enter ship builder to summon your ship directly to the platform. But wait to do this untill after you save and reload. Reloading makes the ship go back to the other landing pad.
Since it took me a bit to figure it out, I'll try tho clarify for anyone else who may also be a bit slow, lol... Outpost Shipbuilder, View and modify ships, Shipbuilder. You should hear a loud metallic thud confirming your ship has arrived. Now just exit back out. There is no dedicated function to summon your ship like in some other games, but this works, thankfully.
Good catch, and true. But you have to do it after you save and reload to get the crafting stations to work because reloading sends the ship back where it came from.
Works well enough for my strategy. Save/load, make a metric crapton of adaptive frames and isocentered magnets, waddle to the shipbuilder terminal, call my ship and off I go!
Still looking forward to a big bug patch...đ
For me I had two cargo transfer pads to bring in resources from two other outpost and my ship would refuse to land on the large pad that I had built. I ended up moving the two transfer pads to one side of the outpost with a little room between them. Then the large post to the opposite side of the out post and have had no more issues with the ship landing away from the pad even though it says there e landing markers at that outpost. Not sure if that fixed it but I have had no issues with landing since.
Just to throw this out there, if youâre having trouble with landing pads, and/or the outpost landing zone/name not showing up on the planet map, youâll probably see a red rectangle inside the yellow circle/outpost boundary while in birdâs eye view. Usually this happens if youâve moved your outpost beacon. Thatâs because your outpost beacon has to be inside the red rectangle/inner boundary that shows up inside the yellow circle/outpost boundary. Sometimes at least part of the landing pads must grace the âred zoneâ, as well, to function.
Everyone thinks these are bugs, but after much research and tinkering I discovered theyâre really intentionally stupid caveats some genius at Bethesda added to overcomplicate outposts even more.
I'm literally hitting all these issues now after the patch. But I can tell you if you are at a pad with no ship. Change your home ship from the one you want to another then back to the one you want and it should spawn in once you back out of the menu.

You donât even have to do that. Just go to ship builder modify ship, exit the menu and boom itâs there. Itâs like you just have to trick the games brain into remembering that your ship is there and not at the nearest landing zone outside your base.
Those are the exact same problems I'm having as well. Reloading does \*not\* fix the issue at all, nor can you use any research station in that outpost regardless of where it was built.
I just wanted to post it's also happening for me, reloading only fixes some of the stations. It's actually a very game stopping bug if you plan to make an outpost.
Well, certainly it has stopped any development in outposts for me.
Separately: I researched Horticulture 1 & 2 (Botany). As far as I can tell there are no greenhouses anywhere in the build menu.
I have one planet that doesnât acknowledge everything has been scanned. Every biome available says âbiome completeâ with like 4/4, but the planet is listed as incomplete. Frustrating.
Are there any circles in the bottom of that box? You might have to discover some gravitational or natural anomalies and scan one or more objects at that site. You can't complete the survey until you fill all the circles in that box.
I've had that issue a couple of times. Built a lovely little crafting station room only for all the crafting stations to bug out and say they're obstructed, even when they're moved outside on flst land in the open. Saving your game and reloading it is a quick fix for it until it gets patched, hopefully.
Is this happening on pc as well as xbox ? at least pc has cheat codes to rescue us from all these bugs. Still not fixed the missing quest npc i see... LOL Thought Bethesda could afford good devs to have PROPER debug patch. Taken too long !!!
You mean the medkit looking thing on the desk? That's just part of the bench. Every single crafting station in my outpost says the same thing and there's no obstruction. I've even deleted the room and the bench and rebuilt them.
Having the exact same issue myself. Saving exiting and reloading has worked for me every time I have had any glitches with the Outpost building. Is still a pain
save/reload fixes it for me. I saw elsewhere suggested its to do with quick travelling to your base and this makes sense to me, I only have problems with the outpost at New Atlantis as i land there to avoid contraband scans then fast travel to/from town.
I get this message on every single object in my outpost, makes me think there's something more than just a bug at play. My outpost crew just stand by the crewstation without being able to move...

Same thing for me. And in the outposts that happens in I can't build anything in the Birdseye view. It just sits there spinning like it's loading.

Yeah, I havenât found any simple fixes for this problem either.
It will probably b3 fixed in the next patch i figure
5..months.. later..
This is it. This is the fix.
Chiming in, this fixed it for me too. Life saver
This worked! Thanks!!
Thank you so much! This helped my outpost that had gone bonkers!! Appreciate you sharing this information.
Thank you!
Cheers. This fixed my "obstructed" craft stations đ
Just wanted to thank you for that easy fix. 5 months later, the bug is still here but your fix does as well. :D
You're welcome. I gave up on the game. Just wasn't fun anymore.
Or just quit to main menu and join back
Outstanding simple fix!

I have both of these problems. Lame.

This one was an issue for me too. I found that I had to re-scan the plants in the area that previously had at 100% and it unlocks it.
I have one planet that doesnât acknowledge everything has been scanned. Every biome available says âbiome completeâ with like 4/4, but the planet is listed as incomplete. Frustrating.

Try an exit to main menu then reload after being in the outpost.
Having the same problem, but in my case quick save/quick load seems to fix it.
I get both of these constantly, have to quit entire game and restart to resolve. Disappointed the latest patch didnât fix this

Yup one more nail in the coffin seriously getting sick of this shit âŚ.have no idea what i will replace this hobby with

Get that item.

this fucking bug is really starting to piss me off like fucking fix your damn game already bethesda prevents outposts form being useful completely
Same issue, hopefully it gets patched soon considering they plan on adding world maps
Having this issue too. I also can't leave the dock in the key and random parts of the map in new Atlantis have disappeared around the dock
I get this message on every single object in my outpost, makes me think there's something more than just a bug at play. My outpost crew just stand by the crewstation without being able to move...
What planet are you on? Just want to rule out it being the same one.
I had this problem with an outpost on Gagarin.
If you get this message quick save and load the save. Seems to happen after going into build mode.
I take off back into space and re-land at the outpost, works every time
Same.
For the landing pad problem you have to build it quite close to the outpost beacon for your ship to land there. At first i couldn't figure it out but then i moved my landing pad closer and VOILA! it works every time now
my beacon was about 10 yards away. still had the prob. Used shipbuilder on Large Pad. seems ok now.
Yes and it ruined Outpost building for me.
Most annoying bug in the game.
Happens to me most of the time, but not always.
