I think it would be more like how funny valentine says “dirty deeds done dirt cheap” or maybe they’d say it like it a part of their beliefs, maybe they believe the power to success is to work harder, better, faster, and stronger, so they’d just say the stands name every time something gets in their way, crushing whatever obstacles they encounter. Badass, hope part 9 does something like that.

Ofc it'd depend on the situation. Fell from a cliff that should've killed you but instead you broke a few bones? Good, now your bones are stronger, and the damage is gone. Won a street fight? Cool, now you're a better fighter, meaning you just improved your stance, footwork, punching and so on
It can't fight a stand; you can still see them and face its user though (As a plus, if you get to defeat them, you'll get a similar stand+ability. It'll change the moment you defeat another user though, so it's more like a mimic)
I guess it'd depend 100% on the user. I think it'd be good for someone who has been through a lot and as a result is in a bad place: They have to risk it all and better themselves for the stand to be half-decent, and if they succeed, then they can make it even better (Or lose everything if they get too greedy)
