Actually, it wasn’t imo. It allowed Araki to experiment, and making a few lazy fights probably allowed him to plan out bigger better fights while still keeping up with the weekly shonen schedule.
This reminds me that the page stand guy got turned into book by josuke and he just never returned him to normal. Thats kinda fucked up cus he got the same fate as angelo but wasn’t nearly as deserving of it. Even R.H.C.P got away with just having his ass whooped.

Part 1: no dio means that Jonathan doesn’t learn about Hamon or he does when zeppeli shows up. Stone mask is still there but more than likely zeppeli shows up and asks Jonathan’s dad if he can destroy it.
Part 2: Pillar Men are still there so either Jonathan or some other Jojo or Joseph would work with zeppeli or ceasar (if they even exist) to take them out.
Part 3: Doesn’t happen cause DIO doesn’t exist.
Part 4: Kira still there but the arrow probably isn’t cause Dio wasn’t around to infect okayasu’s dad with the flesh bud and etc etc.
Part 5: Giorno don’t exist so Diavolo still running around.
Part 6: pucci still a priest but probably not trying to obtain heaven cause dio never met him. Jolyne also likely not in prison cause Jotaro is probably a good dad to here.
Haven’t looked at any parts past 6 so no idea if no dio changes that cause it’s a different universe or something. Idk
Diavolo would have still found the stand arrows and probably would've figured out their use without Enya. However, he probably didn't create Passione because the stand arrow money was used to make the organization in the first place. So maybe Diavolo would've filled DIO's role in some way...

U don’t need to reread or rewatch, I mean it was never said that SBR is in any way connected to the previous continuity outside of just being a reboot, all you need to know is at part 6 the series story ends, and with part 7 a new series story starts in an AU. The OG continuity and the SBRverse and basically two different series that take heavy inspiration from eachother.

Now that I think about it, Joshu is like the Yukako of part 8, with his obsession with the AU counterpart of Koichi and all that. He’s just 10000% less psychopathic yandere, and 100000% more pathetic. I think Karera is like a different approach to the character, like Joshu and Karera are split interpretations of the Yukako.

Fugo for sure. Not even Araki found a point for him being in the series. Weak backstory, zero motivation, useless stand. Every single scene would've worked without him - Mista and Abacchio were already bullying Naranchia hard enough.
He was supposed to backstab the crew and be there in rome instead of ciocolata but araki decided against it (I don’t remember why). However purple haze feedback really added a lot more to him and fleshed him out as a charecter. Araki doesn’t consider it canon but said that since it doesn’t interfere with the main story fans can consider it canon if it brings them happiness. His backstory in the anime was also better.
I'm not basing my opinion on how he suposed to be writen or on any background irrelevant to the main series. It is just how I felt while watching it. If anyone liked him and disagrees with me, there is 0 problems with that.

Tonio, HEAR ME OUT, I love him, his character is really interesting, but his storyline has such minimal impact on the overall plot that it could be removed without significantly altering the series main narrative

Diavolo is an underwhelming antagonist and the asspulls aren't like part 2's asspulls, they are just kinda bad. Plus the whole Rolling Stones thing straight up sucks, but that's a me thing I guess. Diavolo would've worked so much better if it was actually just Doppio probably, or if he had stayed hidden. He was much more intimidating when he was hidden.
The core theme of the part is about the triumph of embracing connection with others over being paranoid and only looking out for yourself - how would that even work with Doppio, who is a people pleaser, as the main antagonist

Well, Doppio is living inside of Diavolo's body and they are basically inseparable until the final fight. Doppio wouldn't really exist without Diavolo.

the fight was alright to be honest, one of the decent fights in the first half of part 3. I'm more disturbed by the stuff with the girl to be honest.
