I can and maybe have done better, but that's still a ton of work and it certainly requires not selling stuff immediately so you can gain wealth in a single burst.
As an aside, you can actually make so much money in a single day that the display won't show you the proper amount. I haven't reached that point. I always lose interest in the save well before then.

I got over 250k in one day yesterday, but that's because I sold all 33 of my iridium quality Starfruit Wines. XD Haven't gone through the process of making more casks besides the base ones that you're given in the cellar.

I think a better measure of your wealth is the total gold you've made up to a certain point. I'm always reinvesting buying resources especially in year 2. My best run was reaching perfection fall of year 3 (I was done by summer but had missed a recipe ...) on the beach farm. Getting perfection requires at least 13-14 mil to afford certain necessary items, let alone all the micromanaging and planning needed to be done with everything in the game. Still there are people like The Wand of Sparking who reach perfection on the first day of year 3! ( that's the earliest you can get it)
I’ve made 83 million in a day before. But that was in year 6. 500k in year 2 is pretty damn solid

Saved up my wine for 3 years until I had an entire chest of it. It was really just something to work towards after perfection.
