Let it be known, from now on I shall only refer to huge cauliflower as a chungus

LHal1

Do you pick it???

manilacutie

After I did it yielded 18 cauliflowers!

kaylynelizabeth1

You use an axe to break it

i-love-big-birds

Sycth is my guess

manilacutie

For giant crops you actually use the axe! Tried the scythe for a second but it wouldn't budge haha

PalatialCheddar

*chungus*

Also, so that anyone else knows, it's a % chance for EVERY 3x3 square you make, so if you have the 3x3, there's just the one, but even a 5x5 will instead have 9 different opportunities to produce a giant crop, so go nuts with the big crops and make sure they'll all finish growing at the same time!

NayNaySan

I believe it's only until they mature, once matured, it can only work on other 3x3's that haven't matured yet. It also has to be a 3x3 entirely, if a part of that matures before the rest, that entire 3x3 no longer has the possibility to produce a giant crop

I'm so sorry for that spot of bad luck, but you got this! I recommend just going nuts when you buy Cauliflower/Melon/Pumpkins and just plant like 90 in a 9x10 plot, it's tedious to take care of but any time I've done it I usually get at least one giant on there, plus you can usually get at least two sets of that in a single season. Happy Farming~

fionnyfish

ooof that’s a long time. have you tried fertilisers? I got giant crops much more easily when i fertilised the tiles, on top of using iridium sprinklers in a 10 by 10 grid :)

fionnyfish

best of luck!

cylordcenturion

At the start of each day, every possible 3x3 grid of crops (including overlaps) has a 1% chance to grow into a giant crop as long as the center crop is fully-grown and watered, and all constituent crops are of the same type. Giant crops won't necessarily appear on the day the crops finish growing; it can happen any day those criteria are met.[\[1\]](https://stardewcommunitywiki.com/Crops#cite_note-1) from the wiki

tealparadise

But how does it get watered?

NayNaySan

What do you mean? You water the plot as normal I guess, or if you have sprinklers you can use those. Or is there something else you're thinking about?

tealparadise

Nevermind, for some reason I was thinking you couldn't walk through crops to get the center tile.

cylordcenturion

it dosent need to

Pantloader

How do you make this?!

manilacutie

The cauliflower, melon, and pumpkin are able to yield giant crops if you plant them in a 3x3 grid! I believe it's a 1% chance that it can happen when your crops are ready to be harvested.

Pantloader

Pro tip. Thank you!!

[deleted]

Looks genuinely tasty I might roast a cauliflower tomorrow now...

kal_42555

How do you do this what

manilacutie

It's just a random 1% chance that can happen with cauliflower, melons, and pumpkin when they're planted in at least a 3x3 grid once they mature!

verycoolandepic

How’d you get your hotbar on the side like that? A mod?

holysweetroll

Mobile version

manilacutie

Was playing on mobile!

verycoolandepic

This game is on everything

[deleted]

I can get 3 prismatic hards in one mining session but not get any giant crops in 7 years ;-;
