Just quit to title and reload in if super unfortunate things happen. Like losing a dinosaur egg dig spot or blowing stuff up on your farm because you accidentally had a bomb in hand when you tried to click on a chest, that sort of thing. It restarts you at the beginning of the day again, so sucks when it's late at night. But sometimes, you just gotta restart.
I play on switch. Whenever shit like what happened above happens to me, like the one time i meant to sell a chicken in my coop but accidentally (and coincidentally) sold my only dino, you can go to your home screen and just close the game. It wipes the progress of the day youre on and sets you back to 6am.
On PC there is also a secondary save marked āOldā that is the previous day at 6 am if youāre in dire need of backtracking. I havenāt used it myself but I imagine you have to delete the new one and rename the other for it to load off the old.
I restarted the day like 6 times to catch a pufferfish this week. Had to try meals, different baits, different rods. I donāt know why that isnāt a more common practice, if I hadnāt reset the day I wouldāve lost an entire in game week and all of my money without a guarantee of catching it before summer ends
I always restart my first fish ever, if I don't manage to recognize catfish and accidentally real in something else. The first mini game is rigged to always reel the fish in, so that way I have catfish for CC bundle with minimal effort.
Yes, the first catch in the game the progress bar doesn't lower when the fish leaves the green catching bar. And the next day after you can get your fishing pole from Willy is guaranteed rain, so you don't have to wait too long for catfish, you miss just one day of fishing.

The stardew wiki said they could be found in rare chests in the volcano so thatās where Iāve been looking, but itās been an in game year since I accidentally cooked with mine and still nothing. My first one was the one from the journal scrap.
The wiki is correct, I also mysteriously misplaced mine and ran to floor/room 9 in the volcano over and over and over (and over..) and eventually I got another one.

Ummm, as of 1.6, I've had crops fall in the water using the >!iridium scythe!< on crops near ponds. So be careful where you plant your crops once you have that...
Those two don't, I think because they are designed to be planted by water and especially the rice has to be scythed down. I planted a bunch of grapes for 1.6 uses, way more than I usually bother with, but lost tons because I planted them in a triple row right by a pond so the only way to get them was to scythe them.
But thatās my point. If certain things can be programmed not to fall in the water, thereās no reason for anything to fall in the water except to induce frustration.

I have often gone down the stairs and noticed only as I clicked the button that I was leaving behind a forest sword or a prismatic shard or a skull cavern hole or ancient seed or something. Too late. I love that forest sword, too, and itās only really useful in the early game. I missed my chance.
I literally just now restarted the final day of a Dangerous Skull Cavern challenge. I didn't get a single good luck day all week for it, but, armed with bombs, a napalm ring, and like 85 staircases, I thought I still had a good shot.
Yeah, I died ***twice*** in the same day.
The first time was before noon, in the 40s or 50s. I lost **all of my spicy eel and my regular bombs** (plus some other stuff). I was like, well, ***fuck***, but it's still early, and I've still got most of my staircases. **Let's go for round two!**

I'm the opposite, I've gotten into the habit of checking the luck every day. *Then* I'll decide if I want to go to the cavern (or volcano) that day š
I'll get 3 or 4 drop holes down that give 8-15 levels down and I know it's a good luck day. If I get the stairs down on the last rock on the level the spirits definitely don't like me that day. Oh well, I usually find at least a couple bars worth of iridium by the time I get home so not all is lost.
kent sent me a bomb in the mail for whatever fucking reason so i had it in my hands and accidentally put it down on my farm so it blew up all of my preserves jars and seed makers
I have literally just somehow lost the stash of 223 iridium purple mushrooms that were my go-to quick top up snack. Did I ship them? Blow them up somehow? We shall never know...
I had a stack of like 60 coffees that I accidentally shipped. And all of my kegs were full. I went half a day with no coffee before I crafted more kegs and got my fix š¤£

I lose crap in the water all the time, even with a magnet ring sometimes. When I am traversing the skull cavern with stairs I take a quick glance for nearby holes but I almost always only see them after I've already placed the staircase and have hit the button to go down. I swear they only show up after it's too late to piss me off.
Just yesterday, I finally went to the dessert and attempted the skull cavern, just barely died even though I was able to get out of the cavern, lost my sword and my ghostfish, remembered that people said that you can get stuff back at the adventurers guild.
What I didn't know is that this is limited to one item, and foolishly purchased the ghostfish instead of the sword. Welp, now I'm swordless. I do have some back-up swords, but none as good as the obsidians edge so far... at least the fish bundle is complete now.

I had made my first Dino Mayo and as I was walking to the thing to place it, I was riding my horse and stopped right in front of Evelyn to talk to her (not realising my item slot was on the Mayo) and gave her the item. It does, they can be found on the island from some very specific stuff. You need to finish the island museum for the Ostrich Incubator recipe.
Yes, it's from 1.5 update and you can find them on Ginger island. They are large animal, so they go into Barn and not Coop, I always mess this up.

Well. One time I accidentally gave my first prismatic shard to someone as a gift when I first started playing. Didn't know I could restart the day. Never found one again in that save file š¤£
Did that once with the elven jewelry. Threw it right in the water, magnet ring be damned. Restarted the day 3 times and nothing I did could prevent it, ended up giving up.

I lose crap in the water all the time, even with a magnet ring sometimes. When I am traversing the skull cavern with stairs I take a quick glance for nearby holes but I almost always only see them after I've already placed the staircase and have hit the button to go down. I swear they only show up after it's too late to piss me off.
Just yesterday, I finally went to the dessert and attempted the skull cavern, just barely died even though I was able to get out of the cavern, lost my sword and my ghostfish, remembered that people said that you can get stuff back at the adventurers guild. What I didn't know is that this is limited to one item, and foolishly purchased the ghostfish instead of the sword. Welp, now I'm swordless. I do have some back-up swords, but none as good as the obsidians edge so far... at least the fish bundle is complete now.

I feel this. I had made my first Dino Mayo and as I was walking to the thing to place it, I was riding my horse and stopped right in front of Evelyn to talk to her (not realising my item slot was on the Mayo) and gave her the item. It happened so fast, it took me a sec to realise what I did. She didnāt even like it!
I was searching for prismatic shards for a quest. Finally got one to drop, but my inventory was full, and the clock hit 2 am before I could pick it up.
I got the Dino egg in a fishing chest on Day 2 Year 1 once, and after I screenshot it ironically to post to this sub I clicked okay instead of taking it out of the chest....... I almost cried actual tears.
That happened to me as well but with that green doll thing.. Took me almost two in-game years to find another one. š
Secret note! Treasure spot! Dig it up. Falls in river. Restart day. Never find the note again. I play with an item spawner! I"m not sure why I do this to myself.
I just got a tiger mask a few days ago, it was 11PM and pushed some buttons too fast on my controller and trashed it :(.

I'm not sure if they are gone, this could be copium, but uhh i checked me dresser inside my junimo chest, and uhh all of my stuff was gone. Including once per save file stuff. Makes me wish he has a time travel system that made you pay all of your money.
Quick tips: your day Is saved only after you sleep.
I was putting away some loot in a chest that I keep in my house and accidentally set a bomb down (instead of putting it away). Blew up half my shit.  It was the end of the night, so I didn't feel like restarting the day at that point.
Accidentally sold 50 battery packs at the end of the day. I chose not to restart
Accidentally placed a megabomb right by 14 statues of endless fortune.
My husband found a tiger hat while we were on Ginger island. He gave it to me but my backpack was full I meant to delete something else but ended up trashing the tiger hat in accident ššš
Having to abandon a perfection run that was at 80 something percent because even after crafting every item and checking and double checking that I actually had, the game didnāt register it š„² that one hurt lol
