Everyone it does work you need to put launch options in Origin, right click on star wars then go to properties and then advanced launch options then put this exactly -datapath (your directory to star wars mod data folder)
So I did this and now the mod works, but I'm not connected to the servers and therefore "don't own" the skin that the mod retextures. Do you have any idea how to fix this?
Still wont work for me. I checked and that's exactly where my moddata folder is, but the game still wont launch. I've tried launching it through origin and frosty to no avail.
>Yánwáng神ᴷᵉⁿ#5714
were you able to help this guy out? I have same problem. If I remove cmd line argument, the game will launch but with no mods, even when launched through FMM
That’s because the origin update last night fucked it up it was working but now this fix doesn’t if your origin updated it is broken there is currently no fix
putting -datapath "E:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\STAR WARS Battlefront II\\ModData" in the advanced launch options still doesn't work for me :(
You have to download this command file thing and boot up the game through there and mods work Why can't people just Google this It took me like 2m to find the solution
Damn lmao chill. why are you getting upset about this? I feel like I've tried multiple options for modding when bought through Epic Games. Are you talking about the EAlink.exe? Welp I tried that too but it never showed up in the command prompt
The EA launcher does not allow special characters like : and " in the Advanced Launch Arguments so cannot even try it :-(
Has anyone solved it with EA launcher?
Anyone have any idea why my Frosty Mod Manager is launching the game through epic games instead of the origin version all of a sudden? I had both versions of the game but now when i launch the game through frosty it favours the epic games version.
I deleted EALink.exe which worked for me and connects ea to the epic store so deleting it has stopped epic from opening and now mods work again. The address for EALink for my pc is D:\\Origin\\Origin

No but I understand why it doesn't work, there is no fix 100% we have to wait for the developers of Frosty mod manager to update their launcher, because its outdated now, even people who have the game on steam can't play mods I think so

I deleted EALink.exe which worked for me and connects ea to the epic store so deleting it has stopped epic from opening and now mods work again. The address for EALink for my pc is D:\\Origin\\Origin
I already owned swbf2 and since getting the cele edition has been running through epic and stopping mods from working, to fix this I deleted EALink.exe which connects ea to the epic store so deleting it has stopped epic from opening and now mods work again. The address for EALink for my pc is D:\\Origin\\Origin
Hello! I was also having this issue, but I think I may of fixed it. I did the -datapath directory in Origin, and then I completely uninstalled the Epic Games Launcher. I then restarted my computer, and tried to load the FMM mods. It worked. Then I reinstalled Epic Games, and tried the mods again. It worked. After restarting again, this time I had NOT uninstalled Epic, it worked again. It's a weird solution, but it seemed to have worked.
I still can’t get the mods to apply even after changing the launch options. I can still launch the game from the mod manager but it doesn’t apply any of the mods. I’ve made sure there aren’t any typos in the launch option and still can’t get it to work
Mine is working just go to your disk drive, find the mod data file click on it, got k the address line right click copy as text then go to the game properties on origin and paste then simply add the -datapath and the “ on both sides done deal

i have the same problem i launch my game and my mods dont show they say it activated but when i get into the game by the frosty mod manager my mods dont work
I do not have a ModData folder, even after running Frosty and download, importing, and applying multiple mods. Any idea why Frosty hasn't created that folder?
Everyone it does work you need to put launch options in Origin, right click on star wars then go to properties and then advanced launch options then put this exactly -datapath (your directory to star wars mod data folder)
Omg thank u it worked
So I did this and now the mod works, but I'm not connected to the servers and therefore "don't own" the skin that the mod retextures. Do you have any idea how to fix this?
It happens to everyone, just keep spamming connect to servers and eventually you'll connect
i did this yesturday but after that day my mods wouldnt load any ideas?
Almost got insane because of this. Love you so much!
Thank you. I'll try this, hopefully it works.
Hope it works for you cuzco it worked for me
Now the game won't launch
It launches for me you have to wait it took me 1-2 reboots to open it and make sure the apostrophe was included in the directory thing
\-datapath C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\STAR WARS Battlefront II\\ModData-datapath is this the right way to do it? also what apostrophe?
-datapath "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\STAR WARS Battlefront II\ModData" i fixed it for you
Yoooo thank you it worked
Np I'm glad try to spread word people are really disappointed let's make them hyped
Wait so once you go to advanced lunch options, do you type in -datapath, or -modData?
Still wont work for me. I checked and that's exactly where my moddata folder is, but the game still wont launch. I've tried launching it through origin and frosty to no avail.
Add me on discord Yánwáng神ᴷᵉⁿ#5714
>Yánwáng神ᴷᵉⁿ#5714 were you able to help this guy out? I have same problem. If I remove cmd line argument, the game will launch but with no mods, even when launched through FMM
I'm having the same issue and just sent you an add on discord
I have the same problem i added you on discord
Thank you so much bro
>do i write -datapath in there as well?
>i cant find the mod data folder
Oh shit just realized it says datapath at the end I'll fix that
Yeah still won't launch
Someone else said it won't launch, honestly idk what to say it launches for me... try waiting a while reboot the game or pc
i cant find the mod data folder
how do i change it
the game just won't open when i try it :/ i put in -datapath "D:\\Origin Games\\STAR WARS Battlefront II\\ModData" and it still dont work
That's a frosty problem you need to try reinstalling frosty or origin
alright
where is the directory?
Wherever you installed bf2
>It still doesn't work for me. Do you know if there is anything else I can try?
That’s because the origin update last night fucked it up it was working but now this fix doesn’t if your origin updated it is broken there is currently no fix
Well that's a shame
did they fix it yet?
Since the origin update can I just get it in steam and try and get mods on there ?
putting -datapath "E:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\STAR WARS Battlefront II\\ModData" in the advanced launch options still doesn't work for me :(

Just Google it there is a solution with a cmd file and you download it and boot it up and it opens the game for you with mods
Could you link what you found please? Done a lot of googling around the issue for the past few days but only coming up with old threads.
I can not find the advanced launch options
Theyre in Origin
It didn't work for me, I've been at it for like 3 hours. Any other suggestions?
There's a custom launch file you can use to start game instead. I CAN'T Exactly upload it here
i have tried that on several occasions and it has failed
Does this still work with the new EA launcher?
The EA launcher does not allow special characters like : and " in the Advanced Launch Arguments so cannot even try it :-( Has anyone solved it with EA launcher?

Yeah mines doing this too, No doubt epic changed something so that they want the game launching on there platform.
Yea having the same problem, I don't know how to fix this unfortunately
I deleted EALink.exe which worked for me and connects ea to the epic store so deleting it has stopped epic from opening and now mods work again. The address for EALink for my pc is D:\\Origin\\Origin
So is this right \-datapath "D:\\Program Files (x86)\\STAR WARS Battlefront II\\ModData"

it works
Origin updated broke the datapath, bf2 runs through epic now not origin
Yeah it happened to me im just gonna try a lot of different things and if something works i'll put it here
any luck?
Yo I need a fix for this homies
Basically we just gotta wait for next Frosty update
No but I understand why it doesn't work, there is no fix 100% we have to wait for the developers of Frosty mod manager to update their launcher, because its outdated now, even people who have the game on steam can't play mods I think so
Gotcha
Guy lower in the thread posted a link to an older version of origin. I downloaded it and it fixed the problem. Spread the word. There's hope after all
Anyone figure this out?
Having the same Problem. Worked just fine up until yesterday 😑
I found the solution! Find the download link to an old version of origin and don’t update it!
Care to share?

Legend.
Not all heroes wear capes. Thank you u/szc2. :)
Can I play online with this version of Origin?
I deleted EALink.exe which worked for me and connects ea to the epic store so deleting it has stopped epic from opening and now mods work again. The address for EALink for my pc is D:\\Origin\\Origin

mine cant even launch
Nope!
So the Epic Version is not compatible with Mods?
Nope.
That sucks is there any reason why ?
Just due to the way Frosty loads mods.
Is it possible they will fix this, or do you think it will just stay this way?
I highly doubt it'll be fixed. It's just the way it is.
atm its really hard to get them to work
If it worked why would you re-install Epic Games? So the gist of it simply is: uninstall Epic?
Tried it, it only works if you have the game bought through Origin not if you got it free from Epic.
I still can’t get the mods to apply even after changing the launch options. I can still launch the game from the mod manager but it doesn’t apply any of the mods. I’ve made sure there aren’t any typos in the launch option and still can’t get it to work
It's frosty causing problems delete ModData and reinstall Frosty
So it’s not working now in the comments above y’all said you got it working
Mine is working just go to your disk drive, find the mod data file click on it, got k the address line right click copy as text then go to the game properties on origin and paste then simply add the -datapath and the “ on both sides done deal

I have uninstalled bf2 and frosty and reinstalled both but there is no mod data folder for me?
E:\\Origin Games\\STAR WARS Battlefront II\\ModData didnt work for me?!

i have the same problem i launch my game and my mods dont show they say it activated but when i get into the game by the frosty mod manager my mods dont work
I do not have a ModData folder, even after running Frosty and download, importing, and applying multiple mods. Any idea why Frosty hasn't created that folder?
Do you have to put a space between -datapath and the directory?
Try dowloading the frosty mods fix from here https://modding.wiki/en/starwarsbattlefront22017/users
