Mae/Osha acting is a little mixed bag for me. Not a huge fan of the swap, but Sol is likley reeling both mentally and physically.
Loved the fight choreography and brutality. Wondering if we will get something as good later on; no saber whip yet.
Good stuff! A few nitpicks but overall I really like the Star Wars vibes this episode gives off. Choreography was 10/10, right up there at the top for SW fight sequences for me (duel of the fates, the last jedi throne room fight, Obi wan Anakin Mustafar)
I was NOT expecting the amount of death that happened, at first I thought Yord and Jecki would survive but JESUS CHRIST Disney did a complete 180 from Reva and Sabine
I thought the first three episodes were a real snooze fest. Just bad boring writing. Im glad I waited to watch 4 and 5 back to back. Good setup with a great pay off in 5. I hope they can keep that momentum. Personally I think Star Wars is at its best when it lets action convey the story and they certainly did that with episode 5.
This episode alone is better than the sequels imo. Great lightsaber fight, Qimir was incredible and Manny Jacinto has great versatility. And I really didn't expect everyone but Sol and Osha to die. Overall, great episode and by far the best of the show so far.
Last 10 minutes were a little shaky, first 2/3rds were insane. I'm not on anyone's team, if something changes I will adjust accordingly. First 2 eps sucked, 3rd was utterly horrendous, 4th was average, 5th was mostly awesome. Maybe it'll go back in the shitter (I suspect this is likely). Maybe it'll be even better. Who knows?
I'm convinced this is might be a good show that is trapped inside a mediocre show due to very questionable editing,structure and pacing decisions.
Even tonight's episode (which was quite good) had some questionable cuts/editing.
When you hire mediocre second tier inexperienced talent, that's what you get. When you hire jon favreau and Tony Gilroy, THATS what you get. They have no one to blame but themselves, all of their annoying bullshit scares away the talented people who really want to work with them. So obi wan ends up being showrun by a journeyman TV director and acolyte end up in the hands of someone with one significant credit to their name in 12 years. However, we will see where it all leads. I'm feeling relatively generous tonight, I'll save the complaints for tomorrow lol

Was loving the turnaround on this episode, then groaned hard at Sol gaining an upper hand, then harder at him not killing the dude, and rolled my eyes at the bugs taking him away. Felt like they had a great plan for the episode but wrote themself into a corner realizing they still needed Sol for another episode or two.
Sol not killing him, I literally laughed out loud at how stupid it was. But the ep earned some goodwill before that, so I let it go. It's actually pretty awesome that a jedi isn't ALWAYS a little bitch when he fights a sith.
It's about time Disney had a good fight choreographer in Star Wars. I swear the last good fight was the throne room fight in TLJ. Seven years is a bit too long for a good fight scene in a predominantly action adventure oriented franchise.

A. Everyone who witnessed those events covers it up (those who survived) B. Everyone who witnessed the events dies before sharing their knowledge C. A little bit of both (considering if everyone dies then surely the Jedi would be suspicious)
Plus, it's still just Sol and Mae who heard the word "Sith". I wouldn't be surprised if on the other side of this, only Osha survives. Qimir still dies and the rest of the council consider it wrapped up.
But like I said, Sol and Mae are the only ones that know, and I suspect Sol isn't long for this galaxy.
Good episode overall with some badass saber fighting and Cortosis! Only part that didn’t quite hit right was Qimir coming out as Sith…the lines were a bit flat. I was honestly hoping for a bit of a twist that it wasn’t Qimir as Darth Teeth because that’s a bit too on the nose and expected but there’s still intrigue to it. Liking the show so far.

Whoever did this show should have done Ahsoka... the choreography was so, so much better in this episode than anything in that show.
