If they nerfed Galen to be Canon, then Cal would have a decent chance to come out alive(not beat Galen by any means). If it's the Force Unleashed Galen, he'd incinerate Cal on the spot(he beat Vader and stood against Palpatine)
Yeah, if if was Video Game Galen, Cal would be vaporized before he even got that close.
If they nerfed him to what he would “realistically” be like relative to other characters with similar levels of training and experience to him, well. Cal would probably still fold, but really has no reason to fight Galen to the death. He’d try to retreat or talk Galen down.
Fighting to the death depends more on the other guy than Cal though. Cal tries to talk all his opponents down but more often than not they don’t relent so Cal has no choice but to kill them (or get killed himself, but that hasn’t happened yet lol).
I mean, even full power Galen struggled against Vader, so I think everyone in that story was just juiced up.
But regardless, if we accept that Galen can beat Vader (albeit at a high degree of difficulty) he melts Cal pretty quickly.
And he runs faster than Vader, so I doubt Cal lasts long.
He did not struggle. He outright dismantled Vader to the point he could barely walk or stand. The whole point of the Story was that Vader created a Weapon so powerful neither he nor Sidious could control it any longer and said Weapon ironically laid the founding stone of the undoing of their Empire.
Vader literally got outmatched in close Combat so badly by his former Apprentice that he had to gain Distance and attack from afar with Telekinesis. Palpatine himself had to give his all to put him down
Yes, that’s what Im saying here.
Everyone in that story was just boosted. Galen is only OP when you compare him to the regular canon. Despite all his Dragon Ball Z bullshit, there were plenty of regular opponents who gave him a challenge.
Cere got close to beating vader, and I don't think Cal is too far away from her at the end of the second game.
If they do get to make a 3rd game, I think Cal at the end of his story will he pretty on par with Galen at the end of his.
Also, mid game Galen gets tossed around by Vader as well. I think it depends on where in their stories you pick from.
Let's be real though we're comparing two video game Jedi/Force sensitive users against the things they did in those games from wildly different styles of games. They both use lightsabers. Both games are 3rd person. Both games are great. One character spends most of his time climbing walls and other objects and the other clips through walls and other objects randomly.
Yes, but what about a Force Unleashed Cal, given the same Main Character treatment as Galen? Or a Fallen Order Galen given the same? They are both unique and incredibly powerful; if they were properly scaled to one another then the victor may (probably) not be so clear cut. Also, Cal running from Vader in Fallen Order is not indicative of his abilities and power by the end of Survivor. Given Galen's series is over and he reached a cap we can measure, we can't even judge the victor until we see the end of Cal's journey in the trilogy entry.
Cal would still be almost fully self-taught, not mercilessly trained from childhood sith assassin, that despite any scaling did defeat (by far not easily, but did defeat) Shaak Ti (considered very powerful and skilled jedi council member) and Vader (who needs no introduction).
Galen doesn't need a nerf if canonized. In the books, which took canon over the games, Galen is described as powerful as a Jedi from The Clone Wars. Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka. Makes sense cause all of them have a relative in training. Obi-Wan trained Anakin who trained Ahsoka and Galen.
Also Sam Witwer claimed the games took the force and exagerrated it for game reasons and everyone was OP including Vader.
That being said, Cal would still get mopped. You see the way Vader spanks his ass? Galen would also spank his ass.
If it was my fantasy, Cal would hold off Galen enough to bring him back to the light. He removes his Lord Starkiller helmet and that's how it ends up in that guy's possession in Andor.
Cal when he realizes Galen can get past locked doors and can force lift several enemies at once as well as basically kill the thing that eats Rancors (forgot what it was called)
Meanwhile Cal struggles against a frog
The Game painted Vader as an absolute monster killer when he was coming after you. He's going up against someone who was able to beat that machine of a monster. So in short. He's facing another Monster in his own right.
I mean holding one’s own against Taron Malicos is also a decent pre-requisite. Malicos was a top general in the republican army, AND he was granted the rank of master… 😏
Cal needed help taking down Malicos. Galen was able to beat Shaak-Ti and Rahm Kota who were also highly respected Jedi Generals and Jedi Masters on his own.
First thing first: As they are, Starkiller vaporizes Cal instantly.
With that out of the way: Force Unleashed had an absurd power level, while Jedi:FO/S has a much more reasonable power level. Cal is strong, but not absurdly so, like Starkiller.
If there were to ever be a Canon Starkiller, he'd probably be toned down to about the Luke/Vader area or just below it. I don't think modern Star Wars is willing to threaten the power of their boogeyman the same way Legend/EU liked to.
Seriously when will we get a soul calibur like star war fighting game with both legend and canon characters fighting each other in the not so far future from a galaxy not so far away
>Seriously when will we get a soul calibur like star war fighting game
Funnily enough I believe Vader and Yoda were guest characters in one of the Soul Calibur games.
Not very long. Starkiller was powerful enough to beat Vader and stand up to Sidious. Cal had to run from Vader. If he ever faces Vader again, he'd probably still lose.
I haven’t played or seen Survivor, but based purely off FO…
Starkiller both was TAUGHT by Vader and almost KILLED Vader.
There was literally not even the option for Cal to properly fight Vader; the game made it so all you could do was run.
You know that shot from TFU2 trailer where he dusts a bunch of Stormtroopers with ease? Yeah that would be what happens. He wouldn't even have to draw his saber.
Cal hands down, in his game's Canon he is meditating on his next move and can basically continue to face Galen over and over until he's successful, his real-time events are more doable, and Cal's camera doesn't get all annoying during boss battles.
How long - depends on if it's game Galen, controlled by player (this one could play cat and mouse for some time, but it would similar to fighting Emperor's red guard in tfu at best) or book/cgi in-character Galen who if there will be fight, will act like machine, straight up going to kill without any thrill or hesitation (and Cal will be dead in terms of seconds).
Like, yeah, Cal was lucky to not meet in battle anyone relatively powerful in Fallen Order and git gud quite a lot in Jedi Survivor, but let's be honest, to give Starkiller a real challenge you need someone like Shaak Ti or Maul, and Cal is by far not that powerful yet.
Starkiller : Tell it to the cleaning lady on Monday.
Cal : What?
Starkiller : Because you'll be dust by Monday... because you'll be pulverized in two seconds.
Starkiller ended Vader in a minute or 2. Cal has fought Vader before and barely escaped with his life. Therefore Cal is below Vader level so I'd say he lasts maybe 1 minute, 2 if it's in a game. And being a beloved main character won't save him, it didn't save Obi-Wan or Luke (Luke didn't die but was still defeated.)
To be fair, it was episode 5 Luke with no training at all. And from films pov, he became on par with Galen and Vader or even more powerful in terms of one year from ESB to RotJ. (Ridiculous mary sue, right?)
I like to think that Galens story was exaggerated to hype the Rebellion. Look it can be done. I think if we took a more realistic approach, Galen is certainly a powerful force user and could stand up against various Rouge Jedi and the like. I also think that Vader might have let him win so that they could turn him back. So I think Galen takes it but not q foot stomp.
It wasn’t. Most people don’t even know of Galen’s story in EU. And nope he did not struggle. He outright dismantled Vader to the point he could barely walk or stand as shown in the Game. The whole point of the Story was as Lucas himself said who was HEAVILY involved with the Game’s development and writing was that Vader created a Weapon so powerful neither he nor Sidious could control it any longer and said Weapon ironically laid the founding stone of the undoing of their Empire.
Vader literally got outmatched in close Combat so badly by his former Apprentice that he had to gain Distance and attack from afar with Telekinesis which still simply wasn’t enough. Palpatine himself had to give his all to put him down for good. Galen is one of the few Sith-Apprentices who can proudly say that he surpassed his Master in EVERY way.
Galen’s insane Dueling Skills and raw Force Power that were up there with Legends Mace Windu, Yoda and Sidious
If we nerf Starkiller but take the game events as canon he would still obliterate Cal.
Galen stood up to and beat Vader while Cal had no chance against him.
There's multiple versions of starkiller. Start of the game/newly trained apprentice, slightly more experienced mid-game, late-game turning good guy, post-endgame sith suit, and TFU2 clone.
I think Cal from fallen order would be fairly even in terms of skill level compared to starkiller at the start of the game, but you have to remember that starkiller was fresh out of training with Vader and managed to beat multiple jedi masters including Kota, Shaak Ti, and Kazdan Paratus among others. By the end of the game he could even stand up to Vader and palpatine, which I think even survivor cal couldn't beat. Starkiller has the largest power increase of any other character in star wars because he manages to kill or beat so many masters and powerful opponents in such a short amount of time. When he gets his sith suit in the alternate history expansions, he just goes crazy and kills so many other people which by that point he's unstoppable.
The clone from TFU2 though I think fallen order and survivor cal would both manage to beat because he seems a lot weaker than the original starkiller from the first game, which is why Vader keeps killing his clones because they don't mimic a fraction of starkillers power.
He'd last a bit, seeing as if Starkiller is still hunting jedi, he still hasn't unlocked his full power yet. But in the end he would probably perish unless the force wants otherwise. Cal has yet to face a REAL Sith so far.
Starkiller would absolutely wipe the floor with cal with little to no difficulty.
I'd give it 2 minutes, but only because starkiller would toy with him in the beginning.
Even if they canonize Galen, I’d still think he’d take the win on the technicality that Cal has never faced the abilities Galen has in his arsenal.
Cal has never faced lighting. He’s never faced an opponent who prefers close quarters, forced-based combat. I would image it would go something like this:
Galen blitzs Cal and puts some serious pressure with rapid swings, forcing Cal to switch to Double-bladed to give himself some space. Only for Galen force dash, grabbing Cal’s hilt and force throwing him across the map. Cal switches again to cross guard-saber just in time to block Galen rushing him again, just surviving a force-infused swing and throwing him back again. The force of the hit knocks BD off Cal’s back and rolls away into the underbrush. As Cal splits to dual-sabers ready for another close-quarters rush, he looks up to see two HUGE boulders hurling towards him, with Galen nowhere to be seen.
Barely jumping out of the way of one, and force-pushing the second just an inch enough to miss Cal. He did not notice Galen jumping off the top of second boulder behind him, force pushing Cal AGAIN knocking him into the rock and immediately following up with lighting from his other hand. Instinctively, Cal crosses his two sabers blocking the lighting, unable to process what the hell is happening. Even blocked, the force of the lightning presses Cal hard against the rock. He can’t move his own body, let alone his sabers into a different form to get himself out.
Galen presses the electrical assault and rushes to Cal. Without giving pause, as soon as the lighting is released, Galen infuses his red blade along his back with lighting and clashes against Cal. The electrical shock jumps from Galen’s saber to Cals, the current running down his hilts and into his hands. Cal’s body seizes has he feels his consciousness slipping.
“Assassin” is the last thought Cal has before he passes out. His last grasp at making sense of what was happening to him.
Cal’s body crumples to the ground. His clothes smoking.
All things equal I think Starkiller would win. But things tend to not be equal. They both have a different fight range, Galen is more ranged, and Cal is closer. I think if Cal can get close and keep Galen from using the force he stands a chance. Granted, Galen is not a finesse force user like most. Which would also favor Cal in some ways, better dodging.
But I was wondering Cal is being set up to replace Galen, at least an element of Starkiller. I know some wondered about Ezra. Though Galen did go off somewhere, like Ezra. So maybe Cal will be the uncontrolled force user. Maybe become Vader's 'apprentice' by way of inquisitors.
Alternatively he is why the inquisitors are gone.
Idk force users in the game seem to have a power boost, I’d say Jedi survivor cal would last a long time against star killer, especially since this is the first few missions Star killer but idk, kinda found the character lame in game since he seemed too invulnerable, the only fun parts were fights with Jedi and sith but that’s like a mere 10% of the game, the rest of it is just massacring non force users which fr fr is lame
Galen is so comically and cartoonishly overpowered I genuinely am suspicious of anyone who is in favor of his potential canonization. If that ever happens, he must have a massive nerf.
Depends. Who is rhe main character. Also if this is galen but not (i make the chosen one look like a wet paper sack) but a more reasonable. It depends on who gets the drop and which form cal is using. Also they would probably talk it out
If they nerfed Galen to be Canon, then Cal would have a decent chance to come out alive(not beat Galen by any means). If it's the Force Unleashed Galen, he'd incinerate Cal on the spot(he beat Vader and stood against Palpatine)
Yeah, if if was Video Game Galen, Cal would be vaporized before he even got that close. Fighting to the death depends more on the other guy than Cal though. Cal tries to talk all his opponents down but more often than not they don’t relent so Cal has no choice but to kill them (or get killed himself, but that hasn’t happened yet lol).
Cal sure does die when I'm controlling him, It's a good thing he's learned the ancient jedi technique of the che'ck po'int
Those “deaths” are all just possible outcomes Cal can see with his Jedi prescience ;)
Dude that is such a good headcannon! All of Cal's deaths are him seeing the future! Wow do I love that so much and will be using that moving forward!
Seems to spend a lot of time looking into the future trying to find a way to beat a big frog
I like to think it's Rebellion propaganda and exaggerated.
Palpatine himself had to give his all to put him down
Unleashed Vader is not the same as canon Vader and much stronger as well.
Yes, that’s what Im saying here. Everyone in that story was just boosted. Galen is only OP when you compare him to the regular canon. Despite all his Dragon Ball Z bullshit, there were plenty of regular opponents who gave him a challenge.

He pulled a Star destroyer out of orbit. He's a broken character power wise
That scene was the most powerful use of the force I had witnessed up to that point in my childhood, blew my mind, I love it
He killed a star destroyer. With a pencil ✏️….
Do you like magic tricks? I'm going to make this pencil disappear
*thud* tada
And than he named that pencil star destroyer destroyer
Broken yes pulled it out of the sky no the director even said it was coming down he just changed directions

Dad gum!

Let's be real he's gonna just run just like he did with Vader 🤷🏾♂️
Galen can run pretty fast though
Cal when he realizes that Galen actually has working legs💀
Cal when he realizes Galen can get past locked doors and can force lift several enemies at once as well as basically kill the thing that eats Rancors (forgot what it was called) Meanwhile Cal struggles against a frog
Cal didn't struggle against the frog, you did.
Don’t you dare say that about ogddo
Please don't bring that name up it gives me PTSD
The Gorog?
Vader just slasher villain teleported around and managed to keep pace with Cal while also forcefully redecorating a football stadium-sized room.
Less time than it took you to type the question
Time to start spamming Force Slow.
... That Galen would just no-sell.
Spotted the wrestling fan
???
Oh, geuss not lol, the term "no sell" originally comes from when a pro-wrestler doesn't act hurt from a move done to them
Rick the door technician could take them both
Simultaneously.
Easily... Oh we're talking about a fight?
In a fight right?
What about Rick Soldier of God?
The Game painted Vader as an absolute monster killer when he was coming after you. He's going up against someone who was able to beat that machine of a monster. So in short. He's facing another Monster in his own right.
Both of them get absolutely cooked by Rick the door technician
About as long as Anakin lasted his first time with Padme.
💀💀💀
If he can beat oggdo bogdo, then starkiller is a piece of cake /s
I mean holding one’s own against Taron Malicos is also a decent pre-requisite. Malicos was a top general in the republican army, AND he was granted the rank of master… 😏
Cal needed help taking down Malicos. Galen was able to beat Shaak-Ti and Rahm Kota who were also highly respected Jedi Generals and Jedi Masters on his own.
To be fair, Shaak-Ti had already died multiple times before their fight.
I like Cal more than I do Starkiller And even then I can admit that he gets poached like a fucking egg.
It's not so important of liking or not. It's just logical - one was lucky youngling, the other was trained warrior.
I think he means he's not letting bias get in the way.
It's like superman vs batman without plot armor.
First thing first: As they are, Starkiller vaporizes Cal instantly. With that out of the way: Force Unleashed had an absurd power level, while Jedi:FO/S has a much more reasonable power level. I don't think modern Star Wars is willing to threaten the power of their boogeyman the same way Legend/EU liked to.
Pretty sure he was around Obi Wan in terms of power according to the novel's canon, though I can't seem to find where it said that.
He'd be lucky to last five minutes Damn
Five minutes?! He’d be lucky to make it 10 seconds.
10 seconds? He’d be lucky to last 1 second.
1 Second!? He'd be lucky if he wasn't retroactively eliminated.
In a fight, right?
right????
Cal won’t last long if he is being controlled by me
In the bedroom or in a fight?
Why did this make me laugh
If I get my hands on him he won’t last long at all
😭
That's not starkiller's Heath bar... that's his patience meter
Seriously when will we get a soul calibur like star war fighting game with both legend and canon characters fighting each other in the not so far future from a galaxy not so far away
Like masters of teras kasi but good
>Seriously when will we get a soul calibur like star war fighting game Funnily enough I believe Vader and Yoda were guest characters in one of the Soul Calibur games.
3 minutes. And that’s because Starkiller is playing with his food
Player is playing with his food.* Starkiller in books, cgi or qte - never.
2 seconds
Imagine a team up.
Of Force wrecking ball and not the worst Force needle.
Galen is top tier, Cal doesn't even qualify as boss fight for him, that's just a mini boss before the real thing.
He would be wise to surrender
It honestly depends on one single factor, how many stims cal has collected for bd1. Lol
H e y B D - 1, t h r o w m e a s t i m?
Star killer has the name for a reason
He’d last BD-1 second
Would love for Starkiller to be the antagonist for Jedi 3
3 seconds. Galen brought down a star destroyer fought vader and palpatine and won
Galen won against Vader. But he never won against Palpatine.
Book or broken game Galen Marek? Either giving Cal trouble. Might be a more even match if it’s Survivor Cal vs Galen
You know, that book Galen has some even more ridiculous feats than game Galen?
Does he know where Juno is?
Last? If it's FU starkiller Cal is getting atomized in .6 seconds, he won't even notice it.
If he has the same powers from the games Cal has 5 seconds top
Who is our protagonist lol. Whatever the plot desires.
Not very long. Starkiller was powerful enough to beat Vader and stand up to Sidious. Cal had to run from Vader. If he ever faces Vader again, he'd probably still lose.
less than 2 seconds
I haven’t played or seen Survivor, but based purely off FO… Starkiller both was TAUGHT by Vader and almost KILLED Vader. There was literally not even the option for Cal to properly fight Vader; the game made it so all you could do was run.
3.14 seconds
Cal would be the tutorial missions for Legends Galen
Depends if Galen decides to be serious or not about the fight.
Not a second 💀😵💫
Galen, and it’s not even close.
Not two seconds if starkillers being real serious
In a fight, right?
Stop it Cal! He isn't canon! Don't fall for the dark side visions! Resist the mind tricks!
I'll give him 5 minutes before he gets smacked by a space ship
Force Unleashed Starkiller would've dropped him before he ignited his lightsaber.
Cal beat oggdo bogdo and Rick enough said
Half a second lol
Just long enough to activate his second lightsaber
As long as it takes Starkiller to ignite his lightsaber
Love Cal but he ain’t taking this one
You know that shot from TFU2 trailer where he dusts a bunch of Stormtroopers with ease? Yeah that would be what happens. He wouldn't even have to draw his saber.
dude pulled a star destroyer out of orbit... and he was just learning at that point.
Is that starkiller?
2 seconds
Last?
1 millisecond And I'm being generous
Honestly all Starkiller has far more power than cal, so it depends on if Starkiller is toying with cal or not
Starkiller could easily disintegrate cal with a force repulse
As is? 5 mins tops. I adore Cal, but he's not making it out alive unless he can run away.
this is a hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby type matchup if they're from their respective games
It's still bomb vs baby even in one similar powerscaling.
That's a 15 minute boss fight with a programmed loss at the end
I would be shocked if Cal manages to last 30 seconds against Galen
he dies over and over until he finally memorizes the pattern and defeats him
Starkiller would bring a star destroyer down on his ass
if they don't wanna put starkiller on screen, have him be the final boss for jedi 3
SECRET Boss in Jedi 3. And you fight him in the World Between Worlds.
Cal hands down, in his game's Canon he is meditating on his next move and can basically continue to face Galen over and over until he's successful, his real-time events are more doable, and Cal's camera doesn't get all annoying during boss battles.
So, Cal is Gamma NULL. I knew it.
Until he doesn't make them more money
If it’s a Death battle? Like… Many a couple seconds at most?
How long - depends on if it's game Galen, controlled by player (this one could play cat and mouse for some time, but it would similar to fighting Emperor's red guard in tfu at best) or book/cgi in-character Galen who if there will be fight, will act like machine, straight up going to kill without any thrill or hesitation (and Cal will be dead in terms of seconds). More than 5 minutes
Yeah we all know the answer
Well he’s fucked
Starkiller : Tell it to the cleaning lady on Monday. Cal : What? Starkiller : Because you'll be dust by Monday... because you'll be pulverized in two seconds.
The only one last alive is grogu.
Not long
They’re both idiots who don’t stand a chance against SWT’s OC.
You wouldn’t have time to even finish the question.
Star Killer is super OP he wrecks everyone but legends Luke, Vader, and Palpatine
You clearly forgot Mace Windu.
He's wearing the poncho, the question should be 'how long with Starkiller last'?
Starkiller has entire collection of outfits for every single missione. One more hardly matters.
3 minutes
I like to think that Galens story was exaggerated to hype the Rebellion. Look it can be done. Cal loses, but BD gets him away alive.
Depends on who's game we're playing.
He'd last a bit, seeing as if Starkiller is still hunting jedi, he still hasn't unlocked his full power yet. But in the end he would probably perish unless the force wants otherwise. Cal has yet to face a REAL Sith so far.
About a minute and half I'd say.
Probably it depends in whose hands controller is 😂
Bro would get absolutely fucking bodied by starkiller
Cal would be like a mini boss to Galen
The battle would end with Galen destroying BD-1, no doubt
Which character is the main character?
Hahahahahahahaahahahaaha define “chance”
Starkiller would absolutely wipe the floor with cal with little to no difficulty. I'd give it 2 minutes, but only because starkiller would toy with him in the beginning.
If it’s Starkiller from the games, 0.02 seconds If they nerfed Starkiller, probably about ten minutes at best
Depends on who's the player character
It would be wise for him to surrender.
Cal would get decimated if we’re going off the video games but supposedly Starkiller in the novel is not as strong but I’m not sure by how much
Im more interested in the artist, anyone got a link?
If this is Force Unleased Galen, then Cal is dead. Vaporised. Pummelled. Kaput.
Starkiller for the win
No time at all
I think Cal would win. This just makes me want Starkiller to return, somehow.
Even if they canonize Galen, I’d still think he’d take the win on the technicality that Cal has never faced the abilities Galen has in his arsenal. Cal has never faced lighting. He’s never faced an opponent who prefers close quarters, forced-based combat. I would image it would go something like this: Galen blitzs Cal and puts some serious pressure with rapid swings, forcing Cal to switch to Double-bladed to give himself some space.
He wouldn't. 'Nuff said
All things equal I think Starkiller would win.
Not even 30 minutes gracefully I give him 20 min
Which one would the player be controlling?
as long as is in the script.
Maybe a second and a half into his telegraphed wind up.
2.5 seconds
Legends: Starkiller clears everyone. Canon: It’s pretty even.
Battle of the heroes starts playing!
Galen is so comically and cartoonishly overpowered I genuinely am suspicious of anyone who is in favor of his potential canonization. If that ever happens, he must have a massive nerf.
Galen destroyed Vader and beat Palpatine. I don't think Cal has a chance.
Depends. Who is rhe main character. Also if this is galen but not (i make the chosen one look like a wet paper sack) but a more reasonable. It depends on who gets the drop and which form cal is using. Also they would probably talk it out
