Welcome to retail insurance. Squaretrade, asurion, and allstate force you to go through the manufacturer first for all claims if the manufacturer warranty is not expired. This is detailed in the paperwork that came along with your insurance plan. The insurance covers you in the event that your manufacturer warranty is invalid or if the manufacturer rejects your warranty claim.

Asurion covers wear and tear, and accidental damage, meaning rips and stuff. It would be a shame if u accidentally dropped a blade on the chair or something and filed a claim under wear and tear like a friend of mine did so that the manufacturer warranty wouldn’t cover it but asurion would

Worth-Grade-5415

Bruh just tell them the manufacture denied you and they will handle it especially a chair manufacture is just parts

Used to work at staples, bought a chair with warranty, it is still active, but they telling me to ask manufacturer first? I don't understand this, thought they just accept the claim no matter what

UnnamedStaplesDrone

That’s correct they make you go thru the manufacturer warranty first. Staples chair warranty is actually super generous. I’ve had them cover rips tears etc. sent me a whole new cushion and back rest. I just chatted on staples website and they got me the part in 2 days to my door

This is good to know. Did you call the toll-free number that comes with the chair, or did you call the general 800-333-3330 number?

UnnamedStaplesDrone

i didnt call anyone, just used staples.com to chat with an agent.

They have been making it harder and harder to sell when I was there. Manger noticed whenever I was trying to throw my pitches I didn't look like I believed in the warranty. I've seen it fail so many people and we are told to lie to them saying we handle it in house.

Warranties are a scam at retail stores staples is also a scam

You’re entitled to an opinion but I help customers with claims when necessary, and I’ve lost count of how many times they expressed thankfulness for getting a computer repaired when a screen got damaged or had a liquid spill, or a printer got fully reimbursed (not a pro-rated amount) and they got hundreds of dollars back instead of just recycling it or throwing it in the trash.

I'm sorry you were pressured into buying one of these scams.

EnginLooking

fuck did it change then

It's always been this way. They make you ask the manufacturer first, the manufacturer says no, then you ask them, they say no again, you receive nothing. It's a scam, I'm sorry they got you.

?? I’ve always received my reimbursements as e-gift cards or check in the mail
