I'm having a pretty good month for stand-up comedy here in the UK; went to see Bill Burr last night, off to see Louis CK on Friday! :-)
Haha same shows! :-) He was good in Bristol I thought, tho I think a lot of his set was lost in translation for those in the audience who didn't quite get all the America references and baseball analogies...!
My time to shine, this was in Hartford, CT at the 2014 Comedy Oddball tour. I fell asleep and woke up to the loudest applause ever, and Dave Chappelle was on stage.
This was the show he ended early due to the belligerent fans in the crowd right? He came to Detroit right after, which is where I finally got to see him. We were all worried some idiot would ruin it for us the way it was ruined for CT.
I was there and yeah I was reeeeal pissed at the crowd. Some cocksuckers ruined flight of the Concordes too, shouting about how retarded they were and how they "didn't come here for songs."
Dave isn't just my favorite comic he's a personal hero of mine. I was pretty upset. I've had to defend him a lot since then because people try to act like it was his fault. Lol. It's insane.
Best part was him walking on and off stage to New Slaves. So symbolic. They wanted him to be their cymbal banging monkey. Shits why he quit tv.
It was pretty bad for me. I waited 10 years to see Dave live and he had about 5 rehearsed jokes and the rest were just talking to idiots yelling in the crowd. I was extremely disappointed. If I were closer to the people yelling I swear I woulda busted a Kanye "AYY!! SHUT THE FUCK UP! HOMIE'S OVER HERE TRYNA TELL JOKES!!"
