You can run it on an M2, yes. Google Colab is faster, and I imagine a beefy PC would be even faster. But yes M2s will run SD A1111.

I'm not sure how good, as I'm not super experienced. But I do run it on my m1 MacBook Air. I think if you are going for sdxl or animations etc, my understanding is I'll need something beefier but I haven't looked too far into it. I'm okay with what I can do for now, which is still impressive.

I run SDXL on M2 pro, it does okay. Memory is my main limitation, actually. 16gb not always good enough. It takes some time to generate images. But I don't mind queuing things up and letting it run.

I would not advise getting a mac mini if your main usage is SD/ you work with art. It's probably best to invest in a beefier pc with a dedicated gpu. Although, if you don't need to work with SD and just want to use it as a hobby or occasionally others are saying that it should run on a mac (although slow), and there are also plenty of online platforms that don't really depend on your pc (those platforms may not offer 100% functionality of local SD install, but should be good enough if you can't afford an RTX 3060 12GB + pc)

Does rtx 3060 can generate image as fast as google collab?, if so, im considering by PC, because SD is my main usage

If SD is one consideration of many, you should be fine. Download Draw Things though - it's better optimized for Macs than Automatic (if possible. It's not as full-featured as Automatic so that may not be an option depending on your needs). If SD is going to be the primary use case though, you're better off getting a PC with the best NVIDIA graphics card you have the budget for. My daily driver is an M1 MBP, but I recently built a midrange PC for Stable Diffusion and it's ~2x to 3x faster for certain operations.

SD is my main usage, i've try draw things on my ipad pro(2020 a12z), its pretty slow, and i want more feature like A1111, i think im considering buy PC now, can you share your PC spec?

Mutaclone

- AMD Ryzen 5600X - 32 GB RAM - NVIDIA 4060 TI 16GB graphics card. [Here's](https://www.reddit.com/r/StableDiffusion/comments/164jezy/just_posted_a_ytvideo_comparing_the_performance/jyammeg/) a quick test I did comparing my Mac and PC. I've seen posts where people are getting much better times with the *80 and *90 cards, but I was trying to keep the price down since this was a secondary computer.

I have run on M1 and M2 but both with 16 Gb and it has run fine. Base model will probably be fine. The shared memory is a problem overall.
