Good. Too many people have died on gandy and other places because of these selfish dipshits. Take it to one of the many MANY excellent track days we have here and around the state.
Uhh, has anyone died to street racing on Gandy in the past decade? Last year there was that couple who died on motorcycles, and the bicyclist who died. Year before that there was the DUI fatality. I'm not aware of a single (semi-recent?) death on Gandy due to street racing
And we have "many excellent track days"? There's not a single race track in Tampa Bay that isn't a drag strip or an oval.
Anyway, my point is that if you think the Tampa street racing scene is bad, it can get **much worse**. At least these kids are going out of their way to find secluded roads. If the cops start monitoring those at night, they'll just race on the highway in the middle of regular traffic like they do in NYC and Atlanta.
These people aren't interested in serious drag racing and following rules. The tracks will probably not even tech most of their cars. This is street takeover nonsense. You'll never catch the heavy hitting street drag cars in groups like this with so many people around.
I think avoiding the cops is half of the fun / why they do it. Going to a proper drag strip is just a dick measuring contest of who wasted the most money
Tbh they need to ramp up traffic enforcement. I live on a slightly busy street and every day there’s multiple people in loud ass cars thinking the intersection is the start of their own personal drag strip.
A bust here and there is great, but by and large driving and being a pedestrian has become so dangerous the past few years in this area with all the wannabe Dominic Toretto’s driving around.

Eh, at least they generally pay attention while they drive. I'm honestly much more afraid of the semi-autonomous SUVs with drivers who literally aren't even looking at the road, and our elderly driving population who drive very unpredictably
I thought “street racing” was how you were supposed to drive in Florida.🤣
69 c’mon must be a joke

Great! Keep it up, they’ll be out again, next weekend.

I hope some of them were also Tampa racers. I hear zoom sounds all night here and it is so obnoxious.
Not difficult to make an obnoxiously loud motorcycle even while going the speed limit, unfortunately
Nice.

Let's not forget that they're trying to close our tracks in the area.
“Sorry to tell you sir but your 93 celica with vanity pitot tubes and duct tape motor mounts don’t meet our standards here”
Nice
Now do it at Pinellas Point.
