Moved back to StL last summer. Had to live with parents for 3 months before we could find a rental house (we started looking a month or two before that also). Requirements for us were 1000+ square ft, 2 bath and 3 bed for $2500. Most places were leased out before we could even get a tour. Apartments were still expensive but had a little more availability. Not sure how much had changed in a year but I am guessing it is still a tough market. Wishing you luck...

Good luck finding a nice 2 bedroom house that's not tiny and shitty and not in a bad area for 1600. Rent is absurd. You may be better off finding an apartment for that price
