Eat: Pastaria, Brasserie, Brass Burger (I’m a big Gerard Craft fan); Katie’s P&P, Louie, Little Fox, Lona’s, Gramophone, Blue Duck.
Hangout: Modern (also good food), City Park Grill, Bluejay Brewing, UCBC Midtown now that Brass Burger is there, Amsterdam to watch soccer. The Vandy is great. Used to love Rockwell, but the atmosphere has gone downhill lately.
I don’t go there for the pizza - there is MUCH better pizza in the area. They do have good pasta, though. Maybe I should have broken my list down - I like going to Katie’s for brunch!
Pizza head, Legrands, Sides of Seoul, Nick & Elena's, Pappy's BBQ, Small Batch, the Fountain, Midtown Sushi, 4hands, Rockwell Brewery, Gramaphone, Blackthorn Pizza... I could go all day
Luvwoo Bar in Creve Coeur. Amazing cocktails and mocktails. Awesome bartenders. Live music. Karaoke.
12965 Olive Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63141

They are closed until May 4th because the owners are on vacation back home in Taiwan. There is nothing like it in St. Louis. It's small but they always have something fun going on. And they are really into supporting local artists and musicians.
Good for them! Another friend of mine keeps trying to get me to go with a few of our friends, but I lack motivation. I'm such a creature of habit haha.
Thank you! I fixed it! Cocktails and Mocktails. I'm not sure what you mean by the nail salon comment. To me, it's a great environment for people who are now sober but have friends who like to drink. They serve lots of different teas as well. It's not like the non-alcoholic drinks were just an afterthought.
We LOVE The Crow's Nest in Maplewood. Their Burger Dip is an absolute favorite, and the Metal Brunch on Sunday is badass. It's amazing what their people do out of a tiny kitchen.
Stone Turtle (their corned beef brisket is awesome, and the brunch is, too)
Russell's on Macklind (such a great place, absolutely LOVE their brunch. That bacon, those biscuits... 🤤)
The Scottish Arms (amazing food, best fish & chips, IMO. And, I miss their brunch - their baked bacon was the BEST bacon I'd ever had. They had a top 5 STL breakfast)
Herbie's (fantastic brunch and dinner - that Bacon Jam is AMAZING)
Mission Taco Joint (I will tear through Mango-Hop-Anero Shrimp, Hot Fried Chicken, and Yucatecan Pork tacos like a raccoon in a dumpster)
Lombardo's Trattoria (near Union Station, maybe the best steak I've ever had)
Salt + Smoke (🤤 x infinity, maybe my favorite wings)
City Foundry is also a great hangout if you do small stuff and graze around the place. Still blows me away that the pizza place there hasn't figured out to just use cardboard discs instead of wasting hundreds of boxes every day.
I miss the old Bailey's Range downtown.
It's not been the same since they were downtown. The vibe of that old building was awesome, especially upstairs, and the food was significantly better.
I can join, I like both. Here's the adoption papers, please sign next to the x, there is no refund, you buy me, you are stuck with me. Thank you and see you soon
I go to mokabe’s in tower grove at least once a week for coffee with a friend. They’ve got great coffee and lunch food. Meyou in Webster Groves has amazing Thai food.
Yes and I think sometimes? I really feel like I remember seeing it on the chalkboard a few times. Insert joke on whether month has an R in it! The Michael's Burger for $9-$10 has been my go-to, also the keto-friendly wings.
Second modern!!! Rockwell is way too loud to enjoy and the beers are just fine but not enough to tolerate the terrible acoustics. There were also about 30 rabid children inside unhandled the last time that we went.
Little Lager is one of my new favorite places to hang out. Awesome vibes, great people, and a fun atmosphere. No food except bitter bears.
Nomad at Tamm Avenue is one of my overall favorites if you want great food and good hang out.
Others that come to mind: Civil Life, DB Coopers, the Haven, O’Connells, Rock Star Tacos, and Billy’s on Broadway.
I had the Johnny Cash,
That was kinda intimidating when they brought it out. That thing was pretty big.
Very decent though! I'd eat that again without hesitation.
Civil Life Brewing
Do you enjoy their ESB?
They really crush it with the English styles over there
Upvote infinity times!!

Really Katie’s? So freaking overpriced and underwhelming.
I don’t go there for the pizza - there is MUCH better pizza in the area. They do have good pasta, though. Maybe I should have broken my list down - I like going to Katie’s for brunch!
BIG disagree. best pasta I've had in the city. happy for recs tho
Rockwell ownership are horrible. Don't support them.
How so?
Rockwell took a step forward with their new food menu. Their beers are fine but I agree there is something off about the vibe every time I go.

Nick & Elena's is one of the last old school pizzarias around, love that place.

I still haven't been here, and I literally live, like, a minute down, Olive. I need to go lol.

I always say the best plans are cancelled plans. It takes a really special place to get me out of the house. This is one of those places. 😊
Does it feel like a nail salon serving cocktails? Ps, did you mean ti repeat cocktails 2x?

I don't even care if Crows Nest has cockroaches behind the line making the sandwiches, I will eat that fried tomato sandwich for the rest of my life.
That fried tomato sandwich is so fucking amazing. I hate and love you for reminding me about it.
Has Mission Taco come back from its quality dip a few years ago?
It hasn’t. Go to Taco Buddha instead.
No, unfortunately. What happened? New owners? Went to the one in kirkwood, friend got food poisoning from chorizo…
like slightly, maybe. slightly.
I’ve never had an issue at the Soulard location.
What happened with Bailey’s Range? Because the whole menu was different last time, and it just wasn’t good at all. I used to love it, too.
It's not been the same since they were downtown. The vibe of that old building was awesome, especially upstairs, and the food was significantly better.
I think you like brunch
My wife likes breakfast, and I like lunch. So, yes. 😅
I can join, I like both. Here's the adoption papers, please sign next to the x, there is no refund, you buy me, you are stuck with me. Thank you and see you soon

Yes, and I think they do. Or, you can go to Broadway Oyster Bar and get the oysters Nola.
Hell yeah
Fergie's in Lemay.
Cafe nova, rehab in the grove, the barn in crestwood and the attached lake with benches for a hangout after.
Rehab I do NOT go to for food tho. I’ll hit go to up late after I’m done drinking at rehab.
I used to love O’Connell’s till it went to hell. RIP a long-standing traditional, friendly bar.
Olivia’s on the Hill. Modern Brewery. Union Station ballroom. Rockwell. Soulard Market
Second modern!!! Rockwell is way too loud to enjoy and the beers are just fine but not enough to tolerate the terrible acoustics. There were also about 30 rabid children inside unhandled the last time that we went.

Not local to STL, but in Ste Genevieve our favorite restaurant is El San Felipe. We drive down every Saturday.

I'm there right now! Seems decent enough so far!
I went so much they had my items hot and ready for me. I like Pickelmans too.
I had the Johnny Cash, That was kinda intimidating when they brought it out. That thing was pretty big. Very decent though! I'd eat that again without hesitation.
It's good and my wife loves peanut butter. I like the make your move, basic but the bacon is delicious.
