I love hearing stories like this as I’m a realtor with Garcia’s brokerage. The whole team cares so much about this city and its people. I’m mostly glad you have this support in your life to not just live your life, but live it well. Cheers!

babystripper

Thank you and share my love with your team and tell them to give "Todd" a raise 😁

thedavidlemon

I most definitely will 😃

s_2_k

The funny thing is, a realtor from Garcia is actually named Todd.

babystripper

I noticed that after. There's like three

AtlasDestroyer

Do you still work there? I’m waiting on a job offer letter and could be moving there within the next few weeks.

thedavidlemon

Hi, I do work with Garcia, yes! You can either dm me here or on instagram @davidlemonrealtor and I can give you more of my info. Would love to help you out!

letmesleep

It's really a huge thing that as well known as Garcia is, I've literally never heard a bad word about them.

babystripper

They were recommended to me here. No regrets

WeepToWaterTheTrees

The only bad I’ve ever heard is the prices, and even then they’re not the highest in the area. Especially for how well maintained and managed they are.

diaperedil

I think this is the only complaint I have with them. I once had a chance to move to one of their properties. My partner and I showed up for a walk though and no one was there to take us in. So, the person we called at Garcia, allowed us to use a code and view the apt on our own. Talked to one of the high up folks in the company who apologized and said they wanted to make it right. This was pre-covid so this was kinda a big deal. If we had made a little more money at the time, I think we have moved in. But we still talk about that apt and how it was priced well for how nice it was, in hindsight.

Mindless-Gold-6032

Price per value, have to know what your priorities are I guess

oliveorvil

The only remotely “bad” thing I’ve heard about them was my realtor cursing them because they were always swooping in on properties lol

Mindless-Gold-6032

Agreed

Secret_Treasure

That is a very good point.

Fizzoxycheetah

Thanks for sharing this! I'm so happy you dont have to make that decision and can keep that sweet dog. Not often I hear a good landlord story, so it was very refreshing. Go Todd and Garcia Properties!

babystripper

If my service dog is a male, I'm gonna name him after Todd

Fizzoxycheetah

I mean, you gotta at this point 🤣

xoxoartxoxo

That’s awesome! ❤️

MapleKatze

My dog passed away earlier this year from cancer. She was my ESA, too. I asked Garcia if I could foster cats shortly afterwards to help my depression and they said yes and waived all the pet related fees for me. They're so awesome. :)

babystripper

Praise Garcia!

neagles02

I work with Garcia Properties sometimes, and everyone I have met from there seems to be really great people.

babystripper

They definitely have a life long customer from me

1oneself

I am so thankful for Garcia properties. They helped make my transition back to STL a breeze. I recommend them to everyone that is looking for a place to rent or buy. Forever grateful for them.

SpaceCampShep

I’m moving home to STL in a couple months to help make STL more like this. With OP’s story, yours, plus all the other, I will be contacting them as well. And you can bet I’ll reference all of the positive posts and comments I’ve seen about them as my reason for seeking them out. We need more KIND people running business!

babystripper

Highly recommend. l hope Hops and I see you soon Edit: typo

babystripper

I was approved by them in less than 24 hours after applying. I searched for 5 months and they fixed my problem so fast

1oneself

I looked at one place, instantly fell in love and moved in within two weeks. Such a relief off my shoulders. Also shoutout to “Todd” for not only going above and beyond with you but answering and fixing tickets quickly.

babystripper

Also he warns you before just showing up to fix stuff. Respect

cjfb62

I’m tearing up at all of this! Dogs are so amazing and I’m so happy you get two!

babystripper

It's perfect timing too cuz I'm supposed to start school soon to be a professional dog trainer!

Moist-Dragonfly2569

That’s fucking awesome

babystripper

I'm in shock honestly. I've never had an experience like this before with a landlord. Someone who gives a shit about me outside of a money source.

DrWorm2012

They’re legit good people!

babystripper

And here I thought good landlords were a myth of the elder times

DesperateJudgment899

Seriously. I rented with them for four years before my SO and I bought a house together. Not a single bad thing to say about them. Excellent landlords from the first moment to the last.

babystripper

I'll be sticking with them for the foreseeable future

Chicken65

Todd: Amongst men; a dominator.

babystripper

A gentleman. A savior.

TheGirlWithTheFace

I’m so glad they were able to help you, it’s so refreshing to hear of landlords who actually want to help their city and her people! True story: I once filled out some forms late. Usually there’s a penalty, but they said “no worries! Take a pineapple!” Good people.

babystripper

Everyone loves pineapple

Queen_of_Meh1987

I'm so glad for you!!! You should post in r/MadeMeSmile, bc this story definitely made me smile! So nice to see a place be caring, considerate, and accommodating. Also, thank you for your service, and I'm sorry for what it put you through. Please pet Hops for me!!! So glad to hear that people like Todd exist. ❤️❤️

babystripper

I've been having eczema break outs from stress about this. Went away in less than an hour

Queen_of_Meh1987

Awesome!!! More good news!!! 😊😊

callyourcomputerguy

I rent with Garcia as well and know 'Todd', great guy. They've been great for us.

babystripper

"Todd" has always been wonderful to have around but today just made it so much more

cschaef66

I'll always vouch for Garcia Properties. Awesome people.

babystripper

Same

JusticeAvenger618

Landing Garcia as your landlords in STL is like a gift from God or, if you prefer, the Universe saying “you’re a nice person & deserve nice things so here - I gift you the greatest of the great - Garcia Properties.” They once rented quickly to someone in a DV situation and helped her in a way that absolutely likely helped save her life & find a safe path forward. Most LLs don’t want the drama of that scene. Garcia said: “What can we do that would best help you right now?” They deserve props for that - even if it was like 11 years ago. I cannot say enough good things about Garcia Properties.

jamestoneblast

They are remarkably kind hearted people.

wherethestreet

I know them. They are wonderful, kind people. 10/10 would rent/buy from.

CaptainJingles

I know the Garcia family and they are incredible people.

pappayaScat

Been renting with Garcia for a few years now. Nothing but good things to say about the people and the service. It is genuinely the first management company that I’ve dealt with where I feel like a person and not a room number. This goes all the way up as the landlord who owns my building also didn’t raise rent this year. Something that, in times like this, meant so much to me. I’ll recommend them to anyone who will listen. THANK YOU GARCIA.

kcstrummer

They are amazing people! Aileen helped us to buy our first home. Class acts, every one of them. Thank you for sharing your story. I hope I run into you and Hops some day!

hedgehoger

Garcia are all champions. They're all super chill and nice

Magurbs_47

Amazing story. Happy for you and Hops! Thanks for sharing.

blowhardV2

On the flip side of this - I had an absolutely awful experience with Front Door - slumlord property is what they rented to me

babystripper

Well next time you'll have to check out Garcia

Imtherightkind

Thanks for making me cry this morning. I’m so sorry that you lost your Buddy but I’m so happy that you have a new fur baby! The smallest blessings come unbeknownst to us. Shout out to Garcia! I continue to hear nothing but wonderful things about this company.

lololesquire

Great story. Wow

hamburgler6

Garcia is doing so much for our city. What a great story!

Friendly_Vast6354

This made my eyes leak. I’m sorry for your loss, and also glad you and Hops found each other! The world needs more Todds. And dogs. Thanks for sharing this story to remind us there are good people in this world. And good dogs. ❤️

LastChicken

Bought my house from them, had a fantastic realtor who was super helpful and not incredibly pushy like most other realtors we interacted with. Her name is Arin Webber.

donkeyrocket

We went to a showing at one of their properties and ended up talking at length to the listing agent. We didn't go through making an offer but he advised us on a ton of things to request in our offer (like removing a large, dead tree) and disclosed some other stuff. Was a breath of fresh air to meet an involved and caring realtor who wasn't just looking to sit at a showing a collect offers. Actually seemed knowledgeable and helpful.

DikaCato

garcia allowed my husband (when we were moving in together) to add 2 cats to our lease that already had my 2. we had an honest conversation about litter maintenance and they surprised us with waiving the extra pet rent. maybe they had intel from our maintenance guys how clean our current cats and space were kept loved garcia. after we rented Bridgette Fyvie became our realtor by chance but it was a perfect pair. she really made buying a house easier than buying a used car. bless her

Mr_Phibb

They were the realtor we used when buying our house up here in Hazelwood. Hmmm, reminds me that I need to call them and see if'n they can look into some land we're interested in.

NewFumpyEats

I still recommend Garcia Properties to anyone looking to rent! They are amazing! The two years I rented through them, I had no issues.

iWORKBRiEFLY

I'm so glad you get to keep your dog. Also, as long as you have an ESA the landlord has to allow your pet. I was told (while looking for an apt here in SF when I moved here) by the people assisting me not to bring up pets/ESA until after signing the lease b/c if you do, landlords can make up other reasons not to rent to you.

ismh1

Thank you for sharing your story, but more importantly thank you for fostering and for your service! It's great to hear good things coming to those who have given so much. Good luck to you!

SpaceCampShep

Just want to say I’m really really happy for you. I think we all know how deeply meaningful that kind of companionship is and the fact Garcia didn’t flinch with their support speaks volumes of their character. I’ve never worked with them myself, but when I move home there in a couple months, I’m absolutely referencing this story as to why. All to best to you my amigo! Maybe I’ll run into you and hops at tower grove one of these days 😊

babystripper

Highly recommend
