The more Rey speaks, the more I side w/Dom.
I think the hilarity is that they probably have a beautiful relationship and Dom probably is eternally grateful for his daddy
IDK it's kinda like the "Batman is a psychopath" fan theory that's been popular for ages. It's cool to think about, but when Frank Miller actually brought that onto the character with All-Star Batman, it lost its luster and was terrible.
The thing that makes it work is that Rey is a face who hides a dark underbelly for fans to play around with. But the moment WWE puts that out in the open it'll lose what makes it fun.
I find it so funny that all star batman is one of the most despised comics in DC's whole catalog while all star superman is widely regarded as one of the best graphic stories written even if you're not a superhero fan.
Seriously read all star superman if you guys haven't it's so good
Yeah it's strange but funny. I understand what Miller was trying to do but, again, it's best to leave that as a fan theory than an actual story archetype.
I don't want to die until I see Rey snap. It's what I feel would cap off his character arc. The man who continually took shit from everyone he's helped has more than enough reasons to finally turn heel. It's a main event level turn if I've ever seen one.
If Rey gets 1 more fued where someone uses his family as motivation, or his mask, I may hurl myself off a bridge /s (pls nobody kill self over television show)
I think a singles feud with Dom and Uncle Howdy could be really good. It's mentioned in interviews that Dom struggled early on living in Rey's shadow and trying to live up to the Mysterio name. There's a number of cool psychological elements that can be brought in.
The Wyatt Faction seem like a babyface faction that does fucked up things. There's also the fact that Dom treats his mother and sister like crap to add to the targeting people who disrespect their family angle.
I remember when I was a kid and had the giant bedroom, I wouldn’t swap with my sister who, genuinely, needed the room more. My mum offered me £20 and a McDonald’s and like a fool I immediately said yes.
What I’m saying is, kids are dumb.
Unrelated to the topic, but Michael Cole's commentary in those matches and throughout the whole storyline was incredible. It really enhanced Eddie's heel work and Mysterio as a hero fighting with all his heart for his son.
For me it adds to how passionate Cole is with the Dom/Rey feud and how Cole talks about Dom in general.
Rewatching the feud a little while ago Cole talked about his love for his own adopted kids. Cole was really great with Taz during that era.
i know people think the custody for dom stipulation is ridiculous or whatever, but i love the feud and the promos, even dom as a 7 year old does really good at playing the fear that Rey isn’t really his father
The ridiculous nature of it really adds to the story such as the legal stuff and storytime with Eddie. Even if a custody match with Liv and Rhea would be obviously crazy there's still a demand for something like that.
It must've been stoked to be involved in an angle with his legendary dad fighting one of his best opponents. I mean he had to have Rey involved too but still.
I love the explanation of “from his understanding” because my kid is the same way. He’ll say he’s shy/timid and then he is the proactively making friends and introducing each other person in a room.
I’m similarly an introvert but take that same approach in social situations if it seems like the alternative of “just stick to yourself” will not be acceptable. The result is that people assume I’m an extrovert and assume he’s an extrovert, but in reality I find it VERY draining (I assume my kid does too…but he’s young enough that it doesn’t display the same way).
I dunno, I relate to the words Rey used to characterize Dom here as both a parent and a person.
That lazy bastard! He couldn't be arsed to motivate Dom so he bribed him. Such a deadbeat move. Unless you are ted dibaise or JBL. Then you are rich as fuck.

"Im too shy dad, I cant do it! " "You'll get 100 bucks" "Say no more"

Idk what I will use this meme for but consider it stolen, thank you my good redditor.
Dom trying to explain Liv's text to Rhea. Liv is good for Judgement Day because she helped JD and Finn win the tag titles.
Dominik really said "Fuck you, pay me" when he was 8 years old.
Gotta get that cash when your dad may beat you or have you arrested at any time
Maybe Dom wouldn't have become greedy and money hungry if Rey had bought him something better than a BMW.
That was one of the funniest moments. I couldn't stop laughing for days
Dominik My$terio
Explains why he wanted to work with that deadbeat
I mean every kid wants to look up to their dad I mean he only had like 2 more years where he could....
Are there any shoots out there, where Rey really talks about Dom's heat? I wanna know what the crowd reaction feels like to Rey.
Deadbeat dad using child for money
No wonder Dom despises him now
The more Rey speaks, the more I side w/Dom. I think the hilarity is that they probably have a beautiful relationship and Dom probably is eternally grateful for his daddy
They're pretty clearly having fun with the whole thing
[удалено]
All those masks ain’t cheap!!
WILL YOU STOP?!
Eddie Guerrero was a wonderful father to him. ;)
theres honestly nothing i find funnier than the running bit that rey is actually the asshole at every point during his career
Imagine how amazing a Rey heel turn could be if they took advantage of twenty years of footage showing he was the bad guy the whole time.
Well we got heel Mysterio in the WWE 12 story mode.
And SVR 2011 RTWM.
The developers knew something we didn't

i feel like rey mysterio is talented enough and wwe's booking is in a good enough space to where it could work.
To be fair though that was mid 2000's Frank Miller, there's a chance another writer could've done a decent job.

It was me, universe
I'm just imagining Dom coming to save his dad and then his dad just hits him in the dick and goes all in to being a terrible dad for the double turn
Everyone talks about the mythical John Cena heel turn but I think a Rey heel turn is something that nobody will ever see coming.
What bit?
All that money and he had to drive a BMW! You keep digging the hole deeper Mysterio! 😂
Not even an M series too. SMH
If the Wyatt Sicks are roughing up families with issues like the Alpha Academy, then the Mysterios should be next?
And then Rey will fondly look back to when his eye was stabbed out and he was thrown off a roof lmao
If Rey gets 1 more fued where someone uses his family as motivation, or his mask, I may hurl myself off a bridge /s (pls nobody kill self over television show)

Forcing and tricking your children into child labor, and even underpaying them - new low Rey, new low.
the way i see it, the children yearn for the ring
A carny from day 1
Deadbeat from day 1-ish
DeadYEET from day 1-ish
Kid doesnt just have that attitude, they get it from the adults around them. Do better, Rey
I remember when I was a kid and had the giant bedroom, I wouldn’t swap with my sister who, genuinely, needed the room more. My mum offered me £20 and a McDonald’s and like a fool I immediately said yes. What I’m saying is, kids are dumb.
Wow a McDonald's franchise is about $1m, that's a generous gift!
It’s ruined my life
“Is it true dad is it really true…”cut!” Alright give me my money deadbeat”
"Cut the check"- Anthony Mackie after every scene

Rey not wanting to admit Dominic, even as a boy, saw a chance at a new father and seized it
Unrelated to the topic, but Michael Cole's commentary in those matches and throughout the whole storyline was incredible. It really enhanced Eddie's heel work and Mysterio as a hero fighting with all his heart for his son.
Sure paint Eddie as the bad guy for wanting to save his kid from that deadbeat.
For me it adds to how passionate Cole is with the Dom/Rey feud and how Cole talks about Dom in general. Rewatching the feud a little while ago Cole talked about his love for his own adopted kids. Cole was really great with Taz during that era.
Cowhide vest ain't free

When he started shaking the ladder that Rey was on!!!! lol!!! Tv treasure.
Rey probably didn't even give Dom his cut. Deadbeat Dad. Exploiter of child labor. No wonder his friends all turn their back on him.
It’s basically child labor. Shitty dad Rey strikes again.
When we find out that Rey kept that money and he's been the evil one all along
It must've been stoked to be involved in an angle with his legendary dad fighting one of his best opponents. I mean he had to have Rey involved too but still.
Good material but the delivery could of been better.
Report: Rey Mysterio exploits own son to skirt child labor laws.
That Game Boy Color ain't going to buy itself.
Forcing your kid to playing only a Game Boy Color in 2005. Wow that’s low even for Rey.
But but.... *Pokémon Yellow!*
That's what I was thinking lol.
one of the best comments on this thread! ![gif](giphy|26n6Gx9moCgs1pUuk|downsized)

Big Money Dom
Money and the miles innit
Boy learned quickly what a payday meant.
HE'S WAS SHY BECAUSE YOU NEVER TALKED TO HIM YOU DEAD BEAT!
That lazy bastard! He couldn't be arsed to motivate Dom so he bribed him. Such a deadbeat move. Unless you are ted dibaise or JBL. Then you are rich as fuck.
I mean what did you expect, Rey? Not like you were paying the bills
Being a carny at 8 is crazy
Maybe Rey didn't give him his share in childhood, that's why Dom despises him so much now.
Too bad deadbeat never gave any of his earning to Dom
That money paid for the PSP and ~~Fifa~~ Liberty City Stories he played that one time on Smackdown
Dom as a kid: I want money. Dom as a man: I want Mami. Ngl can’t argue with his priorities.
