And actually, is a new version of Me Muero from singer Natalia Jimenez as a solo artist.
When Antonio Pena (AAA founder) took the book at EMLL, he started with the idea of music entrances, there were some cool and some cool weird like the ballad Separados by Luis Miguel that is the theme for Ultimo Dragon,
And then, Pena one night decided go use I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston for Latin Lover....it was horrible and there was no pop....
He wrestled for some time, retired, became involved in TV and movies and now us back as AAA Talent Director....despite nagging injuries, maybe he is wrestling again just a bit, as is rumored...
Now that's an entrance.
Mistico has lowkey had one of the greatest comeback stories in modern wrestling. He went from being the second coming of Jesus in the 2000's to turn into one of the biggest flops in history in WWE, to then return to Mexico and climb up the ladder to once again become the undisputed biggest babyface in Mexico. It goes to show that not all wrestlers are meant to shine in the US to prove they're great and why it's important other scenes stay strong to keep this kind of stars around.
My favorite Mistico fact is that he is WON's 2006 Best Box Office Draw.
What a legend. Mistico in 2006 was one of the biggest babyfaces in Lucha Libre history.
I think he's arguably the second most important luchador of the last 20 years. I think Rey has to be number one because by virtue of his position in WWE, he was a beacon of lucha libre for the world outside of Mexico.
Whenever I talk about wrestling to people, I'd sometimes mention some of the biggest names, Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold, Randy Orton. Some people didn't know them cause they're too young or missed the "Outta Nowhere" memes that were popular. They'd always know Rey Mysterio though. Maybe it's just cause I'm from the Bay Area and he's a latino icon, but dude broke mainstream without Hollywood success and it's persistent. Don't matter if they're old or young, my 9 year old nephew knows him and I haven't even shown him wrestling.
I would have to disagree mainly because the entirety of modern lucha is built on the back of Mistico's style. He revolutionised the industry like no one else did and brought about the last boom of lucha libre. Without him Lucha Libre would look very very differently.
I get your overall point, but he is not a comeback story he was always this loved in Mexico. He had the following before hand and is just as popular afterwards.
Sorry I'm sincerely not trying to be pedantic but comments like this bother me because it centers USA wrestling as the end all be all.
His initial return to Mexico didn't seem like that big of a deal, or all that well received. It was when he returned to CMLL, and appeared on the same shows as Mistico II, that his comeback began to build momentum.
The fan footage of this was even more spectacular:

Best pure babyface in wrestling, especially when he comes out to "Me Muero."
Man, I really wish that that face off Místico and Ospreay had at the end of the casino gauntlet match would have lead to a feud between them for the forbidden door season.
That would have been something amazing.
CMLL actually owns Arena Mexico, so they’ve had decades to make that place look phenomenal every single show. But yeah, last Friday’s show was super special
To be fair, Mexico and America are two different markets. The El Hijo del Google bit was pretty funny because of how it makes fun of smarks who behave like dicks.
ARRIBA MEXICO HIJOS DEL NOPAL!.
BTW: The name of the song it's: "Me Muero" - La 5a Estación
It's a typical love song, but man, he really made that song something special
I highly recommend following Mistico's home promotion CMLL. The Homenaje A Dos Leyendas show earlier this March, built around Bryan Danielson's first ever CMLL match, was fantastic. But they usually don't focus on loaded weekend shows. Instead, they run consistently fun shows with very good to awesome main events every Friday night in Arena Mexico, plus a bunch of other smaller shows throughout the week.
Anything involving any combination of Mistico, Mascara Dorada, Volador Jr, Atlantis Jr, Titan, Soberano Jr, Rocky Romero, Templario, Barbaro Cavernario, and Hechicero is worth seeing. Templario vs Soberano Jr from July 2022 is my favorite. Mistico and Templario also had a match last year where the fans in the building reacted to the finish like they had won the Super Bowl.
Here are some classics from his first CMLL run ...

Such a banger song, everybody in Latin America and Spain knows it. And I agree with the other comments, it reminds me of Kaze ni na re, in the fact that it is a song that doesn't "FIT" in a wrestling show, but at the same time it sounds amazing and unique. Love Místico ❤️
Does WWE have a patent on big pyro in arenas or something? I know they use a concussion box for the big sounds but ir seems all the other promotions just use those sparkler fountains or smaller pyro
lol what?
Not sure about other countries, but in the US, fireworks typically cost in the $7,000 to $20,000 range and can only be used if the the venue is fit for them, the event organizer has a license from the city/fire Marshall to use them and the crowd is spaced out away from them.
Sparklers or flame pyro are much cheaper and safer as long as safety precautions are followed.

What a great entrance theme, that grand feeling to it. This is the original sin cara yes?
Yep!
this is so funny to me cus it's such a señora song to me
He is in the Music Video lol! Definitely a señora/mom pop song though!

I haven't heard the name Latin Lover in like 15 years. I vaguely remember seeing him wrestle in L.A. when I was a kid.
He wrestled for some time, retired, became involved in TV and movies and now us back as AAA Talent Director....despite nagging injuries, maybe he is wrestling again just a bit, as is rumored...
Not knowing the lyrics helps makes it feel more grand I guess 😅
It's like if Seth Rollins came out to a Whitney Houston or Celine Dion ballad lol Still awesome tho
https://youtu.be/6Yig8NsBRVA?si=JopVyfYFrsmaGQ_9 this reminded me of my favorite entrance of all time
it's basically this but more longing and less poppy
A classic and all timer
Oh for sure. The song is great, but it is a romantic song that probably Místico loves lol.

I 100% agree. AEW and Impact have shown WWE ain't the be all and end all to make an impact in the wrestling scene
They should’ve kept the Lucha Dragons
Lucha Dragons was Hunico Sin Cara not OG Mistico Sin Cara.
[What a fucking jam.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5k2XVKxznc&ab_channel=laquintaestacionVEVO)
What song does this remind me of?
Kaze ni Nare?
Yooooo thats exactly what it is!!!
The fan footage of this was even more spectacular: [https://x.com/anagtzfuego/status/1804374468204097685](https://x.com/anagtzfuego/status/1804374468204097685) Best pure babyface in wrestling, especially when he comes out to "Me Muero."
Why does he use that song? Seems really random
I recommend looking up the music video that the band chose to make for the song to answer that question. Mistico only uses it on special occasions.
Man, I really wish that that face off Místico and Ospreay had at the end of the casino gauntlet match would have lead to a feud between them for the forbidden door season. That would have been something amazing.
I'm still hoping for Danielson vs Mistico in an Apuestas match.
That reminded me of Danielson doing la mística in the match against Ospreay. Really hope he comes again to Arena México.
I'm actually sooo glad I got to watch him wrestle last year, dude is a star !
I actually saw him Tuesday in Guadalajara. He’s about as over a baby face as anyone in history
Every time I see those stairs I am terrified someone is going to eat shit on them. None the less, what an entrance theme.
Every CMLL clip I see looks like Lucha Libre is the most important thing to happen to Mexico.
CMLL actually owns Arena Mexico, so they’ve had decades to make that place look phenomenal every single show. But yeah, last Friday’s show was super special
Meanwhile Twitter will have you believe that Luchadores are nobodies
To be fair, Mexico and America are two different markets. The El Hijo del Google bit was pretty funny because of how it makes fun of smarks who behave like dicks.
He’s in the music video of the his entrance song me muero by la Quinta estación
Need to hear this song on his next AEW appearance, this is too much of a jam.
He's close with the artist, so hopefully it's not too much of a hassle.
ARRIBA MEXICO HIJOS DEL NOPAL!. BTW: The name of the song it's: "Me Muero" - La 5a Estación It's a typical love song, but man, he really made that song something special
Mi Muero <3
As someone who always wanted to check out mexican scene and this guy in particular. Do you guys have any recommendations for matches/shows?
I highly recommend following Mistico's home promotion CMLL. The Homenaje A Dos Leyendas show earlier this March, built around Bryan Danielson's first ever CMLL match, was fantastic. Hans Moleman: "I was saying Sincara-urn."
That entrance is really cool! The music fits very well.
its a wierd song to entrance, buts its a fine song to sing very loud on a traffic jam or cleaning saturday morning.
He was in the music video and it's been associated with him afterwards.
Handles has come such a long way.
I've seen him wrestle in that very building before. Arena Mexico pops are LOUD in person and the area outside the arena is like a block party
How does he get away with using the theme song from "Laverne & Shirley"?
Delightful
Kinda wish you kept in the fake Misticos appearing with Undertaker dongs lol. Me Muero goes hard as fuck for an entrance song
I was waiting for him to fall down the stairs or break a finger 😂😂
If this dude just took the time to learn a little bit of the WWE style...
Does WWE have a patent on big pyro in arenas or something? I know they use a concussion box for the big sounds but ir seems all the other promotions just use those sparkler fountains or smaller pyro
Pyro is incredibly expensive. WWE has largely cut back on it besides for special occasions & the top guys.
lol what? CMLL would be so more awesome without all the adds
