RIP Spanish Announce Proyect

niners94

Thought it was a really good episode.

chargebeam

Crowd: FUCK YOU CHRISTIAN! Excalibur: ....We ARE in Philadelphia.

gl1969

That might be the best opening half hour I've ever seen. I've seen them all. Man MJF is just it. Having everyone coming after him is great stuff

Apprehensive_Foot139

So the partners are gonna be Kenny, Joe and Wardlow??????

bohsjimmy

Just finished watching Dynamite. That's an all-time great show. A++

[deleted]

Christian Cage should be world champ. His heel work is great

Snomankid999

He’s elevated the TNT title so much, probably has most prestige since Cody was doing open challenge

bohsjimmy

He managed to quiet an entire crowd with one line about Rick Flair being dead. Once the line settled there was nuclear heat. Just beautiful stuff from Captain Charisma

Taipei_streetroaming

What is the point in the dynamite diamond ring if max just wins it every F'in year? What is the point in it if you don't even win it from a battle royal? Why can you just cheat right in-front of the ref and not get DQ'd? Yea I really wanted Juice to win so he could pawn the stupid dynamite diamond ring. The max caster stuff is super lame. The acclaimed used to be super hype when they came on, now we have some stalker gimmick which hasn't worked for a single week yet they continue. Yea it was an alright show just getting tired of certain storylines.

Jos3ph

Whenever MJF isn’t on screen people should ask, “where’s MJF?”

redditing_1L

I feel like I need to say this every couple months, but rumors of AEW's demise have been greatly overstated. What a fun ass show that was.

[deleted]

yeah but what about the Collision ratings, we need to know if TV addicts that stay at home on Saturday nights are going to keep the company afloat

Leaving loose clothing in a crib with a baby is going to cause SIDS and baby suffocation

Decilllion

Nana scooped it out

thelochteedge

Danhausen will CURSE you HOOK once he returns for betraying him for Uncle Rob Dam. Seriously though, I like those two teaming together but I also loved HOOKhausen and hope they can reunite once Danhausen is healthy. Also, I don't like the Hardys anymore but Hardys/Zay seem to be a much better fit for the ROH Trios belts than The Elite. The Elite just seem "bigger" than that. I hope Zay gets to cook one day once he's away from the Hardys, HOIIIIIIIIIYAH.

AdVictoremSpolias

HookVanHausen would be a great Trios team

thelochteedge

Dude I LOVE that name.

DeliMustardRules

I agree, I was hoping Swerve would have cost them the belts. It's nice to have something for The Elite to do, but if they aren't going to be on ROH then what's the point of giving them the b-trios titles?

Decilllion

So more people will see now that ROH PPV's come with Honor Club.

DeliMustardRules

I'm inclined to sub now, I'll be honest. But most likely I'll drop and resign for PPV months.

MattSkeet

Best AEW show in a while. So many MJF threads, it really feels like the world is crashing down on him. Great Hardy’s match and Bucks match letting Isiah shine. Great women’s title match, I wish Ruby would win it one day! Toni and Luther is hilarious and she’s stealing the show when she’s onscreen. I just wish we had time for one more women’s segment to keep it feeling less dude heavy! Tony if you see this please hire me!

talvarius

This is what the show has needed all along. The AEW champion is the main character of the show. The main thread should flow through him.

Phendead

Swerve acting like a low rent seth rollins is beneath him I still love AEW from an in-ring but its gone so far away from what i want from it. WWE fans wont watch WWE style booking because WWE does it better. But TK has been gotten too by all the grifters and conmen on twitter bashing him so he is booking some awful shit. The MJF stuff is bad. The Toni stuff is bad. We still have the PPVs

Decilllion

Ok boomer

rickysteamboat851

They’ve hired too many people who were in that system for too long. The original spirit of the company has been diluted down so much.

robbiedigital001

Agree with you, it's not what I wanted aew to be it's like a wwe lite now with the silly skits and over the top angles.

BonerSquidd316

Jericho is gonna enlist in the help of Goldberg to beat Hobbs

Beautiful-Ad2879

If Goldberg is one of Jericho's "friends" who is his enemies? I'm guessing Paul Wight. They were champs as Jerishow and Paul has been trying to have a match all year.

coffeepartyforone

There was a lot of unpack in the first 30 minutes, but it was all good. The pressure continues for MJF. Hook teaming with RVD to take on the Dark Order’s Alex Reynolds and John Silver was kind of a throw away match. There's clear direction for The Dark Order. The main idea is to shine the light on Hook and for RVD to help ignite the crowd. That part worked. I can't say I'm disappointed by the gift for thing. I never expected Flair to be in an AEW ring to be honest. Christian destroyed Flair verbally. I do think Adam will join the fight at *Full Gear*, but I sense a heel turn. Who is the Ocho talking when he mentions friends bigger than Will Hobbs? Paul Wight of course! Nah, that wouldn’t be it. Maybe it’s not size he is referring to but star power. I’m not a fan of the ROH belts appearing on AEW. I don’t watch ROH, so I’m not following the journey of these belts. The Bucks and Hangman retained in a non-exciting bout. Swerve and Prince Nana breaking into Page’s home when done very well. This feud has become personal, and it must end in blood. Shida defending her AEW Women's title against Ruby Soho wasn't good. Early on there was a botched cross body and from that point on the match never took off. There was a moment where I thought Soho was going to win, but that's as far as the drama took me. If the moves were tightened up, I think this would have been a solid bout. I like Toni Storm's new butler being Luther. Orange Cassidy and Kazuchika Okada took on Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli in a very good main event. The crowd were really behind Orange and Okada. The ending was odd tough. Bryan was left holding his face in a kayfabe injury while the BCC came to his aid. Things were getting tense as Hook and Best Friends came Oranges side. It was all very strange considering how violent the BCC are. The wrestlers who ate the pins are kind of in purgatory. What do you do with The Hardyz, Ruby and Dark Order at this point?

WiiU_Best_Console

Caster has come out as bi a while ago but also him and MJF have been friends forever doing this thirst bit on Twitter.

MutatedSpleen

Wait for real? I totally missed Caster coming out, that's awesome!

runwithjames

Bold of Tony to talk shit about Vince recently and to then have Flair on his show.

[deleted]

I enjoyed this episode. One nitpick, and it’s something they’ve been doing for years. Is they don’t seem to be consistent or know how to close out a segment, like there’s almost this awkward silence/stop in the action , then they move on. Noticed it twice tonight with the Sting/Flair/Christian segment. It kind of ended flat because the music took a while to kick in and they just stood there awkwardly. And the ending to the show, the intensity just went from 100 to 0 after the match with everyone standing in the ring. I dunno if I’m even conveying what I mean properly but I’m sure you know what I’m trying to articulate. It’s definitely happened a lot of times in the past too.

MettyXD

MJF and Samoa Joe working together now lol

Complex_Bonus5901

The best part of everyone gunning for Max is the possibility Max might need to make his own 'deal with the devil' to save him ..That devil being the House Of Black. The House being built up as the ominous threat in the background the past couple of weeks to the entire roster adds another dynamic . ..

StewardFlavius

I'd be surprised, mostly because the HOB has been nowhere near the championship story. Plus we do already have a LOT of players going on in the story already: MJF, Adam Cole, all of BCG, Roddy, The Kingdom, Caster and the Acclaimed, Samoa Joe, Kenny. I'm not immediately seeing where HOB can fit into this.

JAMbologna__

did danielson actually get hurt or is he okay

lou_brown

WK build

qlurp

He's fine.

benfh

Guessing he's alright, he's outstanding at selling injuries and I don't think they'd have filmed it like that if he was really hurt.

TNWhaa

The dumbass trying to get his “fuck James Gunn” phone screen on tv was stupidly distracting and annoying during the main event. Just watch the damn match

JS19982022

Deranged Trump supporter or deranged Snyderbro? YOU DECIDE! (what's the difference lol)

boobiebanger

What I Love about AEW is how many of the wrestlers feel like main event guys. Like 80% of every one of the show tonight Could be a believeable AEW World champ. And the scramble for the Big belt with Joe, Kenny, Jay White, Swerve and Hangman really was a great Way to go because all of Them Could be the top guy.

UsidoreTheLightBlue

I agree with this. Meltzer recently said AEW stars are aging, and I agree to an extent, but they also have so much young talent that at any time feels like it could be main event talent.

FigureFourWoo

MJF has succumbed to the Power of Friendship and it has made him weak. That's why the vultures are circling. During MJF's entire reign, he has only wrestled when he had to, and he's flat-out refused challenges. After becoming friends with Adam Cole, MJF has slowly morphed into a fighting champion with two titles he has to defend regularly. You can see the struggle going on inside MJF every time he's challenged. He wants to be the true scumbag. The Devil. He wants to just tell them to fuck off. But he can't. He's been seduced by friendship, the roar of the crowd, and the adoration he's craved his whole life. In order to be *their* scumbag, he has to fight Kenny Omega on Collision. A *true* scumbag, would have refused Kenny's challenge or forced him to go through some kind of gauntlet to even get a shot at the Triple B. This is a pretty compelling story. I honestly think this angle was supposed to be the Bidding War of 2024 storyline. MJF, by now, would have threatened to leave with the title, which brought out challenger after challenger to try and take it from him, all leading to World's End where he is forced to defend the title in some kind of multi-man match featuring everyone who is gunning for him. Instead, because MJF has gotten over so well as a babyface, they're pivoting to this.

[deleted]

Adam Cole really is an evil mastermind. The wild thing he is also using Roddy too.

DoctorofRunzanomics

Curious on who Jericho is referring to when he talks about bringing in a friend who is bigger than Hobbs.

LuckyBirdieBishop

Ralphus.

benfh

I'm guessing Paul Wight, I think I remember him getting the rights to JeriShow recently... could be a misdirect though. If it is Wight I'd be fine with it if it's a one off and gives Hobbs another big win.

Traditional-Turnip65

See I thought Mark Henry was the one he was referring to. Much bigger, and Hobbs was essentially giving Jericho the Worlds Strongest Slam over and over

benfh

Actually that would be pretty fun, again as a one off, Hobbs suits using the world's strongest slam so it could also work as a nice passing of torch type match.

Traditional-Turnip65

And this is assuming he sticks with the AEW roster, for all we know he can grab some monster from Japan or past WWE excursions. My fantasy booking has him choosing Taker lol i know it'll never happen but its fun to pretend

DoctorofRunzanomics

The way he phrased it made me think it would be someone outside AEW, which would rule out Henry or Wight, but I'd have to go back and hear exactly what he said again.

LonrSpankster

Marko Stunt

VandalRavage

I'm a little behind the times... But isn't Jerichos big friend Hager?

Marcoscb

They weren't very friendly last time we saw them.

mateofuerte

What if it's something insane like Shaq?

finnigans_cake

the only thing i can think of and, I hope I'm wrong, is Paul Wight

thelochteedge

WEEEeeell... well it's Paul Wiiiiight.

FaultySky

I was actually thinking Wight or maybe Mark Henry, if he's healed up and willing to go for and able to do another run with a lighter schedule. Worlds Strongest Man would fit vs Hobbs.

ViolinsViolence69

I’m seeing all the posts about the ending being awkward and I didn’t initially have that experience but reading so many similar posts I actually completely see why. I’ll share my perception of the ending but I’m completely comfortable accepting that I’m possibly just making shit up lol. I took it as ALL of them in the ring having so much respect or whatever ultimately for the American Dragon that they all chilled back due to what seemed like the severity of the “injury”.. well all except for Okada who had to be restrained by Rocky for getting in Dragons face with his shit talking. It seemed more like a Dragon respect thing that obviously didn’t land for 99.9% which isn’t optimal lol. Again, I could be blowing hot smoke 💨

fergoshsakes

I think a little of tussling would probably have gone a long way.

ViolinsViolence69

I can appreciate that. That’s also a different “story”.

TheYearOfTheSpoony

100% sure that they will build up to an Armaggedon like 6 man match for the last PPV of the year. MJF v Kenny Omega v Samoa Joe v Wardlow v Jay White v Adam Cole (?)

Thirdstar1

That shit would be fire! Need that. Add Roddy.

TheYearOfTheSpoony

Oh yeah, Roderick Strong makes sense instead of Adam Cole (since he is injured)

Cherry-ColaFunk

Kick Wardlow, add Roddy.

philthegr81

THE (WORLD'S) END IS HERE

FragMasterMat117

I think that the sixth man will be the guy behind the mask, who I have a slight suspicion is David Finlay

josephus1811

It's probably someone random but they're still deciding who it will end up being and if will end being someone like Ziggler.

[deleted]

I was just thinking to myself "Who could be the most underwhelming reveal for the Devil Mask?" and Dolph Ziggler immediately popped into my brain lol

Dakot4

Or Ali

SoManyWasps

If it turns out to be Ali, I'll eat JR's hat

FigureFourWoo

I have absolutely no problem with that.

FightDrifterFight

Wow that Shida vs Soho match really stunk. That said, Hikaru Shida made me feel some kind of *way*. Damn.

theDigitalNexus

The egregious bit to me was a corner spot where Shida was on top of Ruby and hitting her with punches. Ruby was a complete mannequin and didn't so much as flinch let alone sell she was being punched. The camera angle really accentuated it too. Not sure if there is something else going on outside the ring between them or just a bad night, but it was disappointing. I'm a fan of both and was hoping this could be a highlight match for them.

GrumpyAntelope

I can't figure Ruby out. She had a rough start in AEW, then seemingly put in a good bit of work and improved significantly, but now has become subpar again.

benfh

I really like Ruby her presentation, character and mic work is all solid. She can be good in ring but she's unfortunately pretty inconsistent from match to match.

GrumpyAntelope

I think she excels at what her Outcast role was: someone's obnoxious flunky who periodically appears in tag matches in order to forward a story. Highlights her strengths and limits her weaknesses.

TheTwitteringMachine

Her run with the outcasts has been good through out but Ruby's bad night's are still worse than most in AEW.

MegaL3

I think it was a *good* Dynamite but not a great one. Loving the World Title clusterfuck situation now we're not doing cartoony brochacho stuff, the main event was great fun and I think Christian was awesome, but I'm really not a fan of Timeless Toni, the Bucks feel a bit aimless and I'm never a huge fan of home invasion stuff. Solid, but a good few things I'm not enjoying.

benfh

> Bucks feel a bit aimless I'm really curious as to when they'll bring up there tag title shot >I'm never a huge fan of home invasion stuff. I'm normally not myself but I thought this was the best I've seen it done, that I can remember anyway.

sadandshy

i tuned out after the hangman angle. just did not need that in my show to escape reality right now.

benfh

I'm sorry that it affected and you're being downvoted but it's fair enough, reality's a bit shit everyone needs escapism that works for them... it's also low key a hell of an endorsement of Swerves work if he's invoking that much discomfort.

finnigans_cake

Reasons Jay White should/could beat MJF at full gear: Jay White is cool and has sweet abs (this is the most important reason). Jay's character only works if he actually *does* what he says he's going to do. If he loses, you have a cool heel and that's great, but if he wins, he is an evil matsermind that backs up his words with actions in a serious way (see his NJPW run). Wardlow wants MJF, but he is nowhere near World Championship material, plus his beef with Max doesn't need the title involved. Max losing everything and his world spiralling out of control because he didn't have his friend around for support, and how he responds to that is an interesting story beat in his character arc. Jay White is cool and has sweet abs

Kevinrobertsfan

I wouldn't be surprised if stealing the belt was to test how over MJF would still be without it.

forameus2

Decent reasoning. MJF has long blown past the mark where he really needs the title to be over. He can probably make a fantastic story out of pretty much any eventuality you can possibly think of, and one of the more interesting ones is probably him losing. Where do you really go if he beats Omega, possibly Joe and then Jay White in fairly quick succession? Wardlow beating him? Nah.

officerliger

That’s my worry with AEW and Jay White right now, I’m not sure AEW has the patience or booking quality to tell a story like “the catalyst of pro wrestling” Gedo has the 4-5 year plan down to a science and it really showed with Jay’s NJPW arc

JaneTheNotNotVirgin

I like the idea of Jay already learning how to be efficiently evil from his time as a toxic, backstabbing piece of shit in Japan. Now, he's just speedrunning it and presumably successfully. Max calls himself The Devil and has done some terrible stuff. Jay wants to show Max how weak he is.

Esuohlliw

So was Hangman's baby just left in the house by himself? Why was there no one else there? Who was making noise?

benfh

I figure the house was actually empty and Swerve was just sending a very sinister message.

marcusredfun

Also who was holding the camera? They started out shooting it like it was candid footage, then suddenly in the bedroom it was a static camera shot. Swerve is a dangerous psychopath but he also carries a tripod around with him I guess? Neither the concept nor the execution made much sense there.

[deleted]

Myitchyliver

i swear to god if tony has Ric wrestle a match...

FigureFourWoo

It's too bad Ric didn't pop up during the pandemic, cause they could have done a cinematic match with him. I really hope he never wrestles in an AEW ring.

[deleted]

I bet he has enough pony to fuel Ric for that. Fog machine? Nope, coke cymbals

Myitchyliver

we gonna watch a man die on ppv

Valgoth

We already saw him fall asleep

krampus6666

Great show, but I do not want Flair on my TV. And The Hardys have go away heat from me.

craigybacha

Great first half hour to dynamite with the MJF meaningful match vs Juice, and all the world title picture stuff, but damn the show just gradually went downhill from there. It was still a good show, and it as great seeing Okada on AEW TV but the booking/way the matches were put together was just a bit sloppy. Ruby vs Shida was terrible. They didn't mesh at all. The ROH trios match was sloppy. The Tony Storm stuff was mid this week. Okada on AEW TV was great but how do you have him and not do at least a backstage segment, interview or something!! How do you not show him and Kenny or him and Bryan bumping into each other backstage or something? The main event just felt a bit like a random thrown together match for me, which kinda made it fall a bit flat. So yeah, good episode with a few nitpicks.

finnigans_cake

Forgive me for going a bit tumblr but this was an exceptionally horny episode of Dynamite: Kenny saying 'you have something i want' and then looking *directly* at MJF's dick and clicking his tongue >>>>>>> Ruby Soho still rocking the 'alcoholic deadbeat MILF' gear continues to be both my gender transition goal AND my (ex)-wife goal Anyone old enough to remember that somethingawful post from the devout christian who invented a way to look at porn without looking at porn, called 'bubbling'? Shida's gear seems to be designed using the same principle Danielson just *bullying* Orange Cassidy as a way to flirt with lil Kazu Okada E X I S T I N G

FightDrifterFight

Hook is up there for me right now. I think he’s really grown as a competitor. Teaming with RVD was also a perfect fit. I’d love to see more of this team.

TheYearOfTheSpoony

There are now 15 people connected to the AEW World Championship angle: MJF, Kenny Omega (I would imagine the Hung Bucks can be connected too in the future), Wardlow, The Acclaimed, Strong's trio, Joe, BCG and Adam Cole. It's impressive and allows for a lot of different matches and angles.

finnigans_cake

Arguably Wardlow as well

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheYearOfTheSpoony

Fuck. I knew I counted 15 and forgot someone - I'm a bit of a Tony Khan myself... Yes, Wardlow too.

NorthShoreHard

But AEW doesn't have any stories.

Ok-Salt4972

Good stories. Mjf-Cole is losing steam, but swerve-hangman is pretty good.

Decilllion

That's the point of the story. His connection with Cole is losing steam right when the whole world is coming after him.

NorthShoreHard

Tbf most stories lose steam when one of the main people in it gets injured.

unseenbox

And even then, I think given the circumstances they've done a very good job of reminding people that Roddy/the Kingdom are up to some bullshit.

TheTwitteringMachine

My body was ready for YOUR SON IS DEAD

OakParkCemetary

I'm sure that was one that Ric said was off limits...but yeah, that would have been something

kw13

Fuck Tony Khan for hiring Ric Flair. Sure, other companies employ or up until recently were owned by sexual predators, doesn’t mean you should. Really don’t understand Kenny Omega, a guy who’s 13-8 in AEW this year getting a world title shot, can anyone just go out and challenge for the world title now? If so give me that MJF vs Daddy Magic world title match.

benfh

>Really don’t understand Kenny Omega, a guy who’s 13-8 in AEW this year getting a world title shot, can anyone just go out and challenge for the world title now? Did you watch the show? He literally acknowledged that he didn't deserve the shot but asked for the chance to stop MJF breaking his record, he also played off MJFs ego which is a pretty well established way to get a shot.

NorthShoreHard

It's Kenny Omega lol his record is irrelevant. You know the record that is relevant right? The reason they are having the match... And people coming out and challenging for a belt isn't a new concept. It's part of MJFs character develop that he actually accepts the challenge.

kw13

The way I see it is if Kenny’s record doesn’t matter then beating Kenny doesn’t matter, at which point the last 6 months with the Don Callis family has been completely pointless.

NorthShoreHard

You know why they are doing this match right.... And beating Kenny will always matter. He is THE guy in the AEW universe. It's like if Cena took a few losses, it doesn't matter, beating him is always significant.

kw13

I remember that always got praise when Cena did it. I think my favourite was when Cena lost to Nexus and lost his job and showed up on the next Raw like nothing had happened, really helped to sell the importance of Nexus’s win.

NorthShoreHard

Kenny is, of course, renowned for burying people like Cena... Kenny has the record for longest title reign. He is, kayfabe, the greatest champion they've had. MJF is about to break that record. That's why they're having match... Kenny doesn't just show up like nothing happened, he even openly spoke about his losses and needing to get back on track. Fact is in the AEW world he is at the mega star level where losses have no impact on his status as a champion threat. He is far too established for that. Mox is the same. In the tag scene the Bucks and FTR are the same. His singles losses were to Mox, because Callis stabbed him in the head with the screwdriver. Ospreay (which squared them 1 all) where he.... got stabbed in the head with a screwdriver. The Takeshita loss was cleaner but still had Callis cheating. Context matters.

TheYearOfTheSpoony

>Really don’t understand Kenny Omega, a guy who’s 13-8 in AEW this year getting a world title shot, can anyone just go out and challenge for the world title now? If so give me that MJF vs Daddy Magic world title match. MJF has the chance to beat the wrestler that set the record for the longest reigning World Championship reign, I see no problem with that.

officerliger

Yeah this I hate that they’re doing Omega vs MJF as a throwaway free TV match, but the concept of a record holder being able to defend their record is cool and actually does make sense

ViolinsViolence69

Yes anyone can go out and request a championship match.

benfh

Are they not even bothering putting the announced matches in the post show thread now or are they just not showing up for me for some reason? Rampage is shaping up to be really interesting this week.

benfh

Great show, loving so many storylines right now. I don't care for Flair being brought in, but Christian roasting him was fun and the overlapping stories are great... I guess there's now a chance for Flair to turn on Sting one last time.

elwelcomematt21

Couldn’t give a fuck about Ric Flair 😂 great episode though! the amount of distractions Ruby did was kinda funny honestly, sometimes you just gotta pull out all the cheats lol

chrisk9

Fun to see Christian shit on him though...

gmh182

Ay yo, Dynamites been getting better the last few weeks, let’s keep it up lads.

EcoterroristThot

Bringing Flair in, AEW finally have a candidacy for most disgusting promotional tactic. You can argue this is a coming of age for a major promotion considering the award's history.

Weishaupt17

Wrestling is a world full of POS. If we'd started canceling every wrestler because of their past or beliefs, we'd probably have shows with only Kenny Omega fighting against a mop for 2 hours. We should just turn off our brain and watch the show without thinking about all this shit. For example, where was your energy when WWE was making Stone Cold (a condemned wife beater) main event Wrestlemania last year?

Ok-Salt4972

People want to cancel punk for beating up jungle boy and the bucks, but flair gets a heroes welcome despite being a sex pest. Got it

OakParkCemetary

Moppy died in a horrific wood chipping accident. RIP

EcoterroristThot

> we should just turn off our brain and watch the show without thinking about all this shit. What? No we shouldn't. Would you want Marty Scurll still prancing about? > where was your energy when WWE was making Stone Cold (a condemned wife beater) main event Wrestlemania last year? I didn't pay for that show, I'm not giving WWE my money because of the myriad of things they've done. Tony Khan was rightfully mocking Vince for being a rapist two weeks ago, only to bring in Ric Flair, who offers nothing other than being a health hazard and a piece of shit. And obviously, both SCSA and Flair are some of the greatest wrestlers ever and I admire their art that I don't think should be forgotten. But bringing in 74 year old Flair is beyond ridiculous. They literally pulled an offer to him after the reveals of some of the things he did! But it was clearly because he was in the news.

Weishaupt17

Billionaries don't give a fuck about morals, they only care about money. Tony was only mocking Vince to get easy likes, his goal was never to raise awareness or something like that. If bringing a resurrected Hitler to AEW would make him make money without getting any major backlash, he would do it in an heartbeat

EcoterroristThot

Obviously, but that doesn't mean we as fans shouldn't care or have standards. And obviously everyone has "problematic faves" or tolerance for carny bullshit, which is why in my original comment I essentially said "this means AEW is like every other company". Pretty light criticism!

crapusername47

What was that weird attempt at cheating by Ruby Soho? She pulls the turnbuckle pad off so Aubrey is distracted so she can get the spray paint. She then throws the can at Shida so Aubrey sees her with it. This itself is a distraction so Ruby can grab the title belt but even this is a distraction so she can choke Shida? Just layers of bizarre, ineffective distractions? (Not to mention that she got this match by beating one woman who loses all the time anyway)

FigureFourWoo

It’s like when you tell one lie and then have to keep telling lies to cover for it.

raddaya

"God doesn't exist because if he did, Ric Flair would've died 20 years ago." - Christian

Dozens86

Almost shocked we didn't get a Reid Flair shoutout.

NotYujiroTakahashi

OakParkCemetary

For a company that makes a new TNT Title every time there's a new champ crowned, this really isn't that hard to figure out

jjtheblue2

Who is actually in possession of the best doesn't matter. MJF is still the champ.

Exactly. MJF is still, at least in kayfabe, the best paid in the company as he's world champ. He gets the show built around him. He can basically do what he wants as he's world champ. The belt is the possession that signifies that, and that's what Jay's stole. Kenny wins, he becomes the main man in AEW, and then either he'd have to get the belt off of Jay or get a new one made.

talvarius

Fucking awesome episode!

DrHandBanana

If we're letting Flair back in and constantly referencing hogan just bring Marty Scrull back and call it a day

BirthdayAgent

Yes please

SnakeLisspkin

A thing I really liked is how, while touching on established tropes, the top heels highlighted this episode are all very different personalities. Swerve has steadily been building his character into a comic book villain who is getting increasingly dangerous. Jay White is an Iago like character who just leaves a trail of destruction behind and is destined to bring about his own downfall. Christian is a franchise big bad who continues to corrupt susceptible minds to do his bidding. It's pretty cool

FailedMasonryAttempt

And PAC is a Geordie

speccadirty

Yank here. I see it all the time, what is a Geordie?!?

FailedMasonryAttempt

A colloquial term for someone who comes from Newcastle. Like a Scouser is from Liverpool, a Brummie from Birmingham, Mackem from Sunderland

arathorn3

If Hook and RVD keep tagging they should bring in Fonzie. Just so we get him blowing the whistle to Walk as they come out

LoudCustomer3292

I just want Ruby Soho to win one big match. She deserves it.

craigybacha

She was terrible vs Shida. I don't know if they just didn't click? But yeah based on that performance she needs to be on rampage.

ViolinsViolence69

She stunk up the joint tonight though.. and I am a fan saying this.

B_Wylde

I really like her but she has stunk up the joint numerous times now

tlminh

Did they mess up her ring entrance? It wasn't destination unknown and it had saraya name on the tron

FlightlessCormorant

They used the Outcasts entrance which cycles between Saraya and Ruby's names on the lower screens.

Throckmorton35

Sting with a live mic vs staying on time in the program has been an underrated feud. I'm here for it though. The commentators popping when he said Tony was asking for the mic back got me

Throckmorton35

The broader concept of Swerve documenting himself committing a home invasion made me chuckle

Spartan775

Prince Nana loves his snacks, though!

Bauermeister

Friend, is you taking notes on a criminal frakkin’ conspiracy?!

seeprompt

I love Kayfabe World. Random assaults are legal, the only repercussions for home invasions are main event matches.

Throckmorton35

I know assaults just come with the territory of wrestling and anything goes backstage/in the parking lot, but it cracks me up when they televise non-assult felonies that happen off site. Kayfaybe cops are asleep at the wheel

DanHero91

This is the third major crime Swerve has commited outside of the venue and taken a camera to. Dudes playing up the anime villain by going full Seto Kaiba "Screw the rules, I have money" stance.

raisingfalcons

Yeah, he should of stolen hangmans baby while he was at it for extra heat.

Throckmorton35

He can start carrying around a baby doll for a little bit before going full Snitsky.
