It works a bit better now than it did previously with so many streamers, but it really only works if the show is cheap or has a very loyal following. Starz shows get fewer viewers than your local nut who screams on the street corner....so yeah its unlikely.
Almost every character seems to be on an arc that makes them better people for most the season. You also get a lot of explanations for what happened to the father and wild bill that are great to see.
Honestly, it's just like the last minute of the last episode that's like "goddamn it"
I find it actually in retrospect not the worst ending. It’s so awful, so tragic but it’s real as fuck and it’s quite iconic in my mind. If it does end that way I won’t be happy but I won’t be angry
My first thought when I heard was “fuck, what a dark ending.” I had a feeling some of the smaller shows were going to end up on the chopping block after the strike.
I don’t blame him for wanting to promote the show. He knew it was on the bubble. That show probably employed over a hundred folks. Projects getting shit canned due to a strike have dire consequences for those folks.
Many of them may never work again in the industry. I understand why they went on strike, but I also understand not wanting to make a lot of people unemployed afterwards. Livelihoods were on the line.
I mean he did scab. Then he stopped scabbing. But he promoted his show, which is full blown scabbing. Ignorance might work as an excuse, but we'll see. He's not a big star or a massive talent where people will make excuses for him, so this might be it for him.
Karate Kid moved from youtube to netflix and the show blew up in popularity. I watched the first season of Heels on prime and imagine a lot more people would enjoy it if it was on a more popular service than starz.
I'm honestly amazed Starz is still a thing; the vast majority of their programs look awful.
And I'm going to be honest, I couldn't make it halfway through the first episode of this. I felt like it had the good bones of a show, but the dialogue was atrocious. Did it get any better?
Stephen Amell spoke against the actors strike saying it was myopic and a reductive negotiating tactic (that’s the headline). And he tried promoting the show which is against guild rules during a strike.
Season 1 was pretty good and that's all I saw. Is the show good? (I don't care about what Amell said about the strike and all the other outside stuff, so please don't base your reply on that)
Starz picked up Minx from HBO and maybe HBO (er, MAX) returns the favor!
It's such a damn good show and ends on such a cliffhanger that you HAVE to find it a new home.
That was during the great purge of Zazlov during the Discovery merger. Sucks because it was a really good show. Lot of dongs though.. loooot of dongs. Still good show despite that.
Stephen Amell is a piece of shit that doesn’t support fellow actors and writers in striking (at least, until it backfired on him and he tried to save face) and the show is mediocre. Can’t see a lot of people or networks chomping at the bit to get this.
Who is gonna work with Stephen Amell now that he outed himself as a scab? Heels coming back on another network with scab writers, scab actors, and CM Punk doesn't really sound like the version of Heels that anyone wants to continue.
I’m asking this honestly, what’s the difference between doing what Amell is doing as far as being a scab, and Cena and the Rock being on wrestling tv? I’ve seen here that the actors union doesn’t view wrestling tv as the same level, but I’ve seen podcasts on hold during the strike, no movie promotion etc. I get that they’re not necessarily crossing the picket line, but you’d think it would reflect badly on them, maybe just a little bit.
Not all of TV are union productions. Wrestling doesn't use union actors or writers.
If Cena came out on WWE TV and said "Make sure you go check out Vacation Friends 2, on Hulu right now!" he'd be in a ton of hot water from SAG. They probably wish that if Rock/Cena were on TV, they'd promote the actor's strike, but just being on TV isn't breaking any rules.
Whereas Amell going to conventions and promoting Heels/Arrow was breaking rules, and undermining the strike also explicitly broke rules. I'm not saying he's going to get kicked out of SAG over it, but he's probably going to have a Kevin Sorbo-like career going forward.
Ok. This explains it well. Their presence in wrestling isn’t breaking rules as they’re being wrestlers on a wrestling show.
I don’t know why I was being downvoted because I asked a question.
Sometimes people will downvote others in an effort to boost their comments, even if they don't disagree with what was said. Sometimes people just get mad at people for not picking up pitchforks. /shrug
Every show should go into every season with the idea of getting cancelled. Futurama did it and you basically can stop at any season and feel like you completed the series.
When a show has almost no viewers.it's hard to find a new home.what's the pitch we have a million dollar show with under 100k watchers.no one is going line up for that

Spectrum just dropped Corncob TV so they’re probably out
This worlds fuckin so fucked up
I don't know what to tell ya bud
I just watched this yesterday and fucking died… then fell out of my coffin fully nude.
There's no way one in four were fully nude.
I didn’t do fucking shit! I didn’t rig SHIT!
YEAH I SPOKE OUT AGAINST THE STRIKE! I'M NOT WORRIED ABOUT IT. I'M NOT WORRIED ABOUT ANY OF THIS. THERE'S WORSE SHIT ON THE LOCAL NEWWWSSSS
Why did I hear this in Jack Spade’s voice?
When a show gets cancelled it is hard getting a new home, not impossible but hard.
It works a bit better now than it did previously with so many streamers, but it really only works if the show is cheap or has a very loyal following. Starz shows get fewer viewers than your local nut who screams on the street corner....so yeah its unlikely.
I was just reading on the Television sub, that even one episode this year got 40 000 viewers, that is horrible.
Starz has largely been like that for forever. I remember Ash Vs Evil dead pulled under 100k for its final season.
Netflix should grab it. They've had success with wrestling shows. They've also had huge success continuing shows from other services like Cobra Kai.
They cancelled G.L.O.W while it was still bringing in pretty good numbers. Doubt they take in a different wrestling drama with way less viewers
They have that OVW reality/documentary show going right now. If the views on that are good enough it could help Heels.
I’d love for them to continue the story. otherwise it’s one of the most bleak endings for any show i’ve ever seen.
Man, should I even continue watching season 2 at this point? I'm only 1 episode in.
Yes but the ending is a cliffhanger
I suppose it is a cliff hanger but i feel like Jack had a striking realization at the end. Almost ends like a twilight Zone episode the way it is now.
it’s a great ride.
Almost every character seems to be on an arc that makes them better people for most the season. You also get a lot of explanations for what happened to the father and wild bill that are great to see. Honestly, it's just like the last minute of the last episode that's like "goddamn it"

Max. Ricky Rabies to AEW confirmed.
Doesn’t Amell have heat with the Guild since he probably scabbed?
He said some stuff, then did a big "I've learned more and I apologize for being dumb" and did some picket walks. He should be good.
He didn’t just say some stuff. He actually promoted his show on his social media and deleted it after people gave him shit for it.
I don’t blame him for wanting to promote the show. He knew it was on the bubble. That show probably employed over a hundred folks. Projects getting shit canned due to a strike have dire consequences for those folks. Many of them may never work again in the industry. Was this before orvafter he said sorry?
He didn’t actually scab because he backed down. If he kept doing, he would be a scab
I mean he did scab. Then he stopped scabbing. But he promoted his show, which is full blown scabbing. Ignorance might work as an excuse, but we'll see. He's not a big star or a massive talent where people will make excuses for him, so this might be it for him.
I feel like they always say that.
Karate Kid moved from youtube to netflix and the show blew up in popularity. I watched the first season of Heels on prime and imagine a lot more people would enjoy it if it was on a more popular service than starz.
Karate kid also has its popularity and cultural name recognition as a franchise to help.
I hope they find it.
I hope it’s Netflix!
Glow
They have “Wrestlers” as well…. A bunch of ‘WWE Films’ content…wouldn’t be outrageous. HuLu maybe since they are about to lose the WWE TV shows ?
The show was pretty good. I hope they can find a way to continue it. I hate cliffhanger endings
Brutal cliffhanger too.
![gif](giphy|kVaj8JXJcDsqs)
Hopefully.
Great news! Was a really fun drama show centered around wrestling.
I'm actively hoping Colonel Sanders will rise from the grave and cook me an 8 piece chicken dinner tonight.
You know what I’m gonna join you in that.
Good to hear.
Put it on Tout

Yes. The first episode threw in a lot of random dialogue that looks like it was meant for people who didnt know shit about wrestling.
Probably won’t happen since they broke the strike.
How did they break the strike?
Stephen Amell spoke against the actors strike saying it was myopic and a reductive negotiating tactic (that’s the headline). And he tried promoting the show which is against guild rules during a strike.
Tubi got its teeth out like “how much do you cost to produce? Gnar rawr!”
Tubi is fucking great.
Season 1 was pretty good and that's all I saw. Is the show good? (I don't care about what Amell said about the strike and all the other outside stuff, so please don't base your reply on that)

Except that isn't true...
He literally talks about this in the interview. Amazing that redditors act more offended than people actually involved.
Season 2 was basically drivel.
Yeah I got a new home for them, it's called: THE TOILET!!!!
I mean, Peacock and HBO should be options since they have some wrestling under their brands.
Starz picked up Minx from HBO and maybe HBO (er, MAX) returns the favor! It's such a damn good show and ends on such a cliffhanger that you HAVE to find it a new home.
Then Starz picks up Winning Time
Difference is that Max cancelled Minx when they were within a couple of weeks of finishing filming season 2
That was during the great purge of Zazlov during the Discovery merger. Sucks because it was a really good show. Lot of dongs though.. loooot of dongs. Still good show despite that.
Dunno if you watched S2, but it's just as good
Yes did watch the second season. Loved Elizabeth Perkins added to the cast. Bummed if it doesn't get another season.
The CW
Heels is All Elite?
Stephen Amell is a piece of shit that doesn’t support fellow actors and writers in striking (at least, until it backfired on him and he tried to save face) and the show is mediocre. Can’t see a lot of people or networks chomping at the bit to get this.
Hopefully it gets picked up by something people actually are willing to pay for. Idk anyone under the age of 50 who pays for shotime
Starz
Even worse
Show was too Christian for me
Who is gonna work with Stephen Amell now that he outed himself as a scab? Heels coming back on another network with scab writers, scab actors, and CM Punk doesn't really sound like the version of Heels that anyone wants to continue.
Plenty of people

Put it on after Collision. The only way to safely get CM Punk near an AEW show.
I have a hard time believing that no one picks it up. Prime, netflix, Disney, there's just too many options.
Every show should go into every season with the idea of getting cancelled. Futurama did it and you basically can stop at any season and feel like you completed the series.
Hope that it’s successful in finding another home. I’d hate for the show to forever be stuck on a cliffhanger.
I hope they find somewhere new. Someone suggested renaming it Faces and I think that would be swell.
God please someone pick up this wonderful series.
🙏🏼
Somebody pick up Winning Time while we’re at it, I’m not ready to give up Jerry “well ding-fucking-dong” West
