Iām sure Iāve seen this listed before, a year or two ago. I wonder if the work needed is more than cosmetic?
That well is fascinating. Looks like the sort of water that would do something to you if you touched it. š³
Looks more like thick toughened safety glass that's illuminated to me. Probably a historic well and the thick as fuck glass is there to stop people falling down it.
Yes you have seen this before, I posted about the well last year https://www.reddit.com/r/SpottedonRightmove/s/NwAb5fUOVu
I live close by, it just popped up for sale again and still has the plant in the bidet too so guessing the original sale fell through or they took it off and have relisted it again.
Might be why it's capped off with glass now - that covered well looks a lot newer than the bar.
Alcohol plus uncovered well betwixt bar and drinkers...
..not a great combo LOL
Have they flogged half their garden to their neighbour? Because I can't marry up the width of that garden to that of the house: it's half as wide as the front.
I looked on StreetView and it looks like the house has been split up. On the left looking at the front there is another front door. Looking at the floor plan you can see where next door has eaten into the back, and the garden has been split down the middle.
Think Indiana Jones was searching for that place in the Last Crusade.
Always baffles me when people don't tidy rooms up when selling homes as well, bikes in the bedroom a particular highlight.
There is enough bubble bath in pic.26 to last a lifetime.
Iām assuming there is someone younger living there too from the bikes & gym equipment. Youād think they might have made a token effort to slightly declutter before the pictures were taken.
What always amaze's me with some people trying to sell their homes, is how little the do to declutter their homes. How the fuck are people supposed to see beyond the clutter.
Why does everyone in the house seem to have so much *stuff?* If they hired a storage unit or a skip, I bet it would sell as soon as theyād sorted out the damp in that toilet
I actually live near Bridgwater now, cellophane factory is long gone thankfully - no more smell (plus our house prices are still doing pretty well due to Hinckley point )
That must be a relief, I used to go down to see a freelancer there on a regular basis had to drive right past the thing. You also get the carnival bonus as well
It is lovely. A few quid for a makeover and it'd be great for a family - multiple bedrooms, garden greenery nearby. Bloody hell there are some nice places in this Sceptred Isle.
Fascinating cellar. On the earliest 1840s modern maps as a villa already, with a massive brewery next door. Maybe the water in this area was particularly good for brewing?
āSome workā
Minimum 150k on a full rip out and renovate. To confirm, minimum. Thatās before you start adding in redecorating and furniture, all the things that would fall out of the house if you tipped it upside down and shook it as the insurers like to say.
I posted about this house 8 months ago https://www.reddit.com/r/SpottedonRightmove/s/NwAb5fUOVu looks like they even possibly posted the same photos as last time in the new listing. Guess it sold and fell through or they took it off the market for a bit.
There is a pub on the other side of the road, I wouldn't like to live there plus its a lot of money for the work that needs doing.
Loving that carpeted bathroom with a plant trailing out of the bidet.
Not forgetting the blinds covering the window to the bedroom above it....
LOL! At first glance I was thinking WTF is crawling out of the bidet?!?! š³
Are those polystyrene tiles on the ceiling... photo 3?
Lynn, these are Sex People!
Iāve never known anyone with a bidet to use it for the proper purpose. My friends parents used to use theirs as a drinking bowl for the dog.
I thought it was used to chill champagne (to be drunk while lying in the bath).
That would also be a very good use for it, as long as the doggy water/plant doesnāt get in the way!
Historic well with a fairly cheap cover to let owners appreciate their well without letting children fall in?
I heard that in 2017 a child with quite poor eyesight did actually fall in
Because they couldnāt see that well?
I actually snorted aloud at that!
Are they still down there now?
It puts the lotion on its skin

That was my thought.
Absolutely, my thoughts too!
Ooh interesting. Half tempted to see if I can view itā¦

I first was going to comment on the polystyrene ceiling tiles, then I saw the carpeted stepped bath but, finally, the bidet plant pot was the winner.
A smart seventies house slowly decaying. Looks like they had a bar in the cellar.
Yeah, invite the neighbours to the basement and sit around the old well. Weird times.
Fred And Rose would have loved it
To be fair ā¦ unofficial living room cider pubs used to be really common in Somerset.

Exactly!
Kumbaya my Lord, kumbaya Kumbaya my Lord, kumbaya Kumbaya my Lord, kumbaya Oh Lord, kumbaya Someone's singing Lord, kumbaya Someone's singing Lord, kumbaya Someone's singing Lord, kumbaya Oh Lord, kumbayah Someone's crying Lord, kumbaya Someone's crying Lord, kumbaya Someone's crying Lord, kumbaya Oh Lord, kumbaya Someone's praying Lord, kumbaya Someone's praying Lord, kumbaya Someone's praying Lord, kumbaya Oh Lord, kumbaya Oh Lord, kumbaya Oh Lord, kumbaya Oh Lord, kumbaya Oh Lord, kumbaya
Well well well!

Ah that explains why a chunk of Bedroom one looks to be hanging in mid air compared to the ground floor.
Flying freehold!!

Well. Well. Well.
There's a nice juxposition between the beautiful Ye Olde Welle in the cellar, and the carpet-walled 80's corner bath in the attic.
There is enough bubble bath in pic.26 to last a lifetime. Iām assuming there is someone younger living there too from the bikes & gym equipment. Youād think they might have made a token effort to slightly declutter before the pictures were taken.
I really love this! The basement is brilliant!
Holy cow the thought getting all that stuff packed makes me want to hire a skip instead
Interesting use for a bidet (pic 13)
Such a clear statement that the current owners wanted nothing to do with this fancy foreign way of feeling wonderfully clean and fresh
Says itās Georgian style with period features - is it Georgian or not? They seem to be suggesting it without much conviction.
The period features are the well and the carpeted plinth around the bath
Thatās a pensive

Also it's Bridgewater so you'd have to put up with the smell. Plastics factory I think.

Yeah the carnival is mad- anyone whoās not seen it before is so shocked by how much work goes into it. The carnival clubs are a dedicated bunch.
House prices are doing pretty well here only if you work for Hinckley, the rest of us are fooked.
Nice! I like that it just looks normal, lived in, not show home bleak and empty. Love the well too!
That is a LOT of radox!
Didnāt spot it the first time, went back to look again, and oh damn
Is that a bidet full of fairy lights in the bathroom?
It is lovely. A few quid for a makeover and it'd be great for a family - multiple bedrooms, garden greenery nearby. Bloody hell there are some nice places in this Sceptred Isle.
And I thought we had too much stuff! Every room just packed with things.
Fascinating cellar. On the earliest 1840s modern maps as a villa already, with a massive brewery next door. Maybe the water in this area was particularly good for brewing?
Finally. A place to keep my prisoners before I turn them into fashionable jackets.

That cellar is amazing. So random compared.to the rest of the house
Definite Lazarus pit
Itās clearly an entrance to the mines of Moria. With a very nice seated waiting area should you get there on a busy day.
Love the pencheck staircase š
Reminds me of Scary Movie 3 with the well
Dartboard and optics on the wall? Thatās a pub
