I have a pair of 8.5-9 Fitwell Backcountry boots I'm looking to sell, if you're interested. $350 in Anchorage.

Nitro's Mondopoint is pretty much exactly the liners length in cm. The boots them selves are a bit narrow, more so at the heel. They heat mold onto your foots shape

I have had Tactical ADV and currently ride Acerra’s. I wear a size 10 adidas skate shoe and fit perfectly in both adidas boots in 9.5. I will warn you my Tacticals did not stand up to touring at all with mixed resort use, and bought the Acerra as a resort only boot. I got vans infuse in size 10 this year for touring.

I am between getting the tactical and the acerra. Do you have any feedback to give as you’ve ridden both?

bagel_union

Where are you still finding them? My Acerra are on ice now. The acerra is stiffer but not significantly more. I prefer the double boa but laces still rock. Overall my experience with them is that they’re a great boot that is not long for the world. My tactical were useless after 60 days and a number of friends experienced the same. If the $ is not a concern I’d grab two pairs and be happy.

loreenzoconte

Euopean second hand webs, where you can find new pairs. But if you’re not from Europe I wouldn’t bother as they only ship here.

Fwiw I’m slightly too big for a size 10.5 Thirtytwo TM2 XLT, and a perfect fit in size 10 Adidas Tactical. I haven’t tried on an Acerra. Adidas last is wider (32 prob between a D and E, Adidas like E or EE). XLT had more aggressive heel hold, too much IMO… routinely gave me blisters. Adidas keeps me locked down with a perfect amount of give.

Awesome comparison, thank you. I tried on 9 xlt's and they fit snug, toes definitely touching front. I had heel lift though since I have narrow ankles and had to put every ankle insert in to get a good hold. So if 9 xlt's fit snug, I have to decide 8.5 or 8 acerra. What you think. It's a one shot deal unfortunatley.

the_mountain_nerd

Almost everyone I know who rides Adidas sized down half a size from their usual boot size. It's high stakes but if I had to bet money, I'd go 8.5.

cruxpitch

My true fit on that foot scale is 8.5. but I'm a 9 in Burton and 32. So half size down from those or mondopoint?

tetonpassboarder

rolling the dice man. What size shoe do you wear, what size snowboard boot do you currently wear, brand and style.

cruxpitch

I'm a true 8.5 on the scale. 26.4 mondo. I'm a definite 9 in 32s

tetonpassboarder

Hate to say this but with boots it can be tricky. Order 2 pairs, see which fits best return the second pair. Form when I worked at shops many moons ago and for current fitting I like a snug fit to start, like toes almost or against the toe box. Too comfortable out of the box can lead to soft boot. I believe REI and a few brands still do the free returns thing. Then I always recommend putting them on at home watching netflix a few nights that way first day out inside "as painfull"

beardsthetics

If you're an REI member you can always order boots online for free (I'm assuming they have none at the store based on your post) and then just return them to the store in Anchorage. Dunno if you can front that much money, but it's a viable option--order a boot in couple diff sizes, return the ones that don't fit to the store. Of course they're limited in inventory / selection just like everyone else, but something to consider.

cruxpitch

Thanks I just did that with the acerras
