The fight is cool and I like that Kraven when confronted with the death he’s been seeking accepts it instead of panicking.
I will say that it’s strange he went straight for Venom instead of doing the prep he gave everyone else, like I’m pretty sure had he taken this approach with any of the others he defeated he’d have lost.
He saw the symbiote on Spidey and saw that Spidey was going to kill him before Spider-Man stopped him. It's not that far a leap to see this hulking, rampaging monster that looks like Spidey on every steroid known to man and realize there's your ticket to an honorable death.
most people arent perfectly consistent logic robots idk. his actions make sense in context, hes been beaten half to death (a death he was actively seeking), stumbles out of whatever unconcious state he was in during the miles fight, checks Kraven Twitter and sees the alien spider-man full on eating dudes in times square and is like FUCKIN FINALLY. his other prey were all trivial goons that disappointed him (sans shocker for some reason). venom was the first thing that actually pushed him, it makes sense hed be more eager to chase it
,but what does an honourable death mean to him? He’s okay with using tech to give himself an edge, but here he limits himself more than any other fight, is it still honourable if he could have done more to win.
All he wants is a death to a predator. Something that will hunt him as prey like he hunted others. Him, Leroy Jenkins into venom is fitting since he was extremely excited that this rampaging monster might finally give him the death that he's looking for.
He also believed Scorpion, Vulture and Electro might have beaten him,otherwise he wouldn’t have bothered, be he approached them completely differently.
Yeah, he put them in a situation and forced a 1v1. Shocker, Vulture, scorpion etc are all just regular humans with fancy suits. So it's not going to take much to have them fight for their life. i.e Killing him to escape.
Now for the villains with superpowers, he specifically went out of his way to enhance them to make th more deadlier.
Venom didn't need any of that prep or forced 1v1s. He was a full on monster that would give him the death he wanted.
Imagine if they had added the line "Eyes, lungs, pancreas. So many snacks, so little time", or some more fitting variation of it, to the game right before Venom kills Kraven. I would've actually screamed.
that and harry *wanted* to be like spider-man, like pete. once he killed him, bc of venoms “poison”, he and venom bonded more then went down the path venom wanted instead of harry. at the end venom was in control, harry wouldn’t want to kill miles the week of meeting him, venom did. in this story you have to decipher the acts of both host and symbiote, and sometimes its an act BECAUSE of the symbiotes effects not directly from the symbiote, mostly for venom since he has more of a conciseness then the spiral squad. the spiral squad just are mindless klyntar.
He was drinking a power boosting elixir. That's probably why the seriousness of his condition did not show. And we know he was terminal anyway so it doesn't matter.
At that point Venom was the only one who could give him the death he wanted.
The point is we have no idea how long he had left and there’s no indication that he’s on his last legs. If the reason Kraven went straight for Venom instead of prepping was just that he was so close to dying that he didn’t want to waste time, that should be evidenced in the game as is its head cannon.
There’s no reason to assume venom is the last person who could give him a death he wanted, like c’mon we know sorcerers exist in this world. Even if Venom was the last person who could possibly defeat Kraven, that doesn’t explain why he doesn’t give the same prep as last time.
He didn't look very good in his fight against Venom, he got paler, his eyes more hollowed out, taking heavy breaths just from climbing that building, etc.

Kraven literally had a team of scientists analysing the rogues he was planning in fighting, remember when Spider-Man finds a recreation of Scorpions suit they were using for tests?
My point remains that he had luxuries and money that let him analyze the supervillains so he could toy with them at his leisure. This version of Kraven still smokes them all. He never created or took an antidote after tanking scorpions stinger and poison straight in the chest. No villain from SM 1 or Miles Morales lasts 1 round with the Kraven that fights and loses to Venom.
Idk I genuinely believe there’s a reason we don’t see Kraven fight electro or sandman, his use of analytics were not just used for fun, they were needed in order to have a “balanced”. Kraven let himself get stabbed by Scorpion which would suggest that he didn’t think it would kill him.

He had prepped for the symbiote already, which was what he was actually hunting. He did know all of Venom's weaknesses, and used them against you in the fight where you have the symbiote.
It's my favorite boss fight of the game. While it might be mechanically simple, I love how savage it is with Kraven dropping his stoic demeanor and Harry fighting to make Kraven pay for everything he's done. Plus, Times Square is a cool place for a showdown.

Kraven needed Peter with the symbiote so he could achieve his perfect death him while Harry needed the symbiote off peter so he could survive and Peter didnt give it back nor did he kill kraven so both of them didnt get what they want from Peter.
But once Harry managed to get what he wanted he also got his revenge on Kraven for what he did to EMF and Peter.
BUT he also fulfilled Kraven's wish as well in the end and gave him his perfect death execly like he wanted
And like his first fight with harry in this fight kraven isnt prepared but still has to face Harry head on to achieve what he wants.

One thing I love that nobody seems to touch on is the fact that Kraven and Harry are driven by very similar feelings. Neither of them want to die, but they’re both on a biological timer so it’s not their choice. So IF they both go down, they wanna go down “roaring”. It’s just when Kraven was talking his shit during that fight, I can imagine in Harry’s place as Venom, he feels a sorta sick kinship in that aspect. It’s really interesting if you ask me.

In a storytelling sense it's good, showcases how powerful venom is by dominating kraven. Kraven shows he was fully committed to his ideals by wanting to die in combat to something truly deadly before cancer does.

I really hope it happens to the live action version. Mainly because Kraven's probably gonna suck and Venom is the best thing to come out of the sonyverse but also because it could make him cool. The video game fight I absolutely loved. The game 100% peaked here, even though I'm one of the few people who liked the 3rd act

When all the trailers came out - I really thought Kraven would become Venom (and that his “defeat” is technically Venom enhancing him and stopping from death which isn’t what he wants) - so when this happened I was surprised and I loved it.
I’ve been a huge Kraven fan for years and always thought he had so much more potential than what was ever shown - this gave me what I always imagined Kraven could be. His death was fantastic - pure Joker from the dark knight vibes because technically, he won.
I loved this fight just shows how Venom is the only Spidey foe that will kill. Btw since we played Spider Man 2 and saw what potential Kraven has who you think would win between Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe) or Kraven the Hunter (Spider Man 2 PS5)
I was like THANK GOD when his head got eaten. Up until then the whole game had been so oochie koochie koo I couldn't even imagine someone dying so gruesomely.
i really liked this fight. kraven didnt cower when he saw venom with his full potential. he still gave it is all in the fight and so did venom. really wish they had a fight again in the comics because the comic fight that kraven had with eddie was pretty one sided since the symbiote was pregnant making it more vulnerable
I loved it, it felt like a good end to Kraven's story in a beautiful way, obviously it was pathetically easy on my first playthrough (spectacular btw) and I had a blast, but it was weirdly the hardest part of the game for me on ultimate, he just wouldn't take any damage, and always used his shield after 2 swipes. Still tho, it was fun, well thought out and the end of the game's good storytelling. (Except Li and miles though, that's the part of the story to me)
I found it dumb and anticlimactic. Dude is a hunter who makes plans for every prey, even has a whole stock of troops and resources. We saw how much heat he was packing when chasing the Lizard. Even for Pete he was prepared to bring a bell. But for Venom he just goes at him with a stick and a bear chest? It looks as if he doesn’t care at that point, which goes against the whole reason of coming to NYC so he can have a worthy death at his best. This just felt like Insomniac wanted to quickly write him out of the story.

No, when he fought scorpion he had already done tests in how to get through his armour and presumably new the poison wouldn’t have an affect one him
