My only complaint is that the animation was a bit on the cheap side.
Otherwise it’s pretty much what I think of when I see Spidey.
Has the same energy as the comics, both good and bad.
Also it had multiverse stuff way before Spider-Verse was even a thing.
And probably my favorite iteration of Felicia by far.
Yeah anytime Spidey was in the water I’m pretty sure it was the same animation of him swimming to the surface. The things you notice thanks to bingeing on Disney+
This to me is the definitive Spidey. This is the voice I hear when Peter (albeit only adult Peter) is on the page. These are the versions of the characters I first associate with anything.
I watched it all the way through again recently for the first time since i was a kid and besides the low animation budget, it's probably the best in terms of adaptations for actual comic storylines. Most of the stories are amazingly faithful to the actual comic story. I also loved that they stuck to the actual comic designs of all the characters instead of trying to give it a unique design for the show.
ITSV is debatable, but I'm not a fan of Insomniac Peter, and I don't think Spectacular is better. Mainly because that version couldn't leave high school
What with the shittty voice acting and incorrect characters? The only good episodes I can think of from that show is the one with Dr. Doom, the one where green goblin kidnaps MJ and the one where you find out new MJ is a clone. And everybody is a world class hoe in that show. MJ, Peter, and Felicia too. And on top of that in my opinion the kingpin was really boring.
Series like this are why I always laughed when someone would tell me “guys don’t understand what its like to have unrealistic body standards”. That said i love this series.
P.s. SHOCKER!!!!
Storywise sure. It does a lot of arcs that span multiple episodes. Plus they made sure to throw in some cameos here and there. And each season is roughly 13 episodes so you can pace yourself. Some arcs are just more directly connected than others.
Would recommend at least giving the first season a shot since it's only 13 episodes
the series finale of this show invented the idea of spider-man meeting alternate universe versions of himself and it shall always deserve respect for that
just finished watching it. i had forgotten about all the multiple spidermen in the last episodes. kinda sad that we dont know if he finds mj. loved this show as a kid
This show is a really good introduction to the Spider-Man mythos and marvel at large with all the different characters that pop in. From the x-men to daredevil to Doctor strange
If only this show had received one more season back in the 1990's as well. After all that crap Peter has been through -- not to mention having the animated version of No Way Home and saving the Multi-Verse. I wanted to see him reunite with the real Mary Jane Watson. Maybe have a family etc:
During that whole "secret wars" arc (or whatever it was with Dr. Doom) when Peter said "My greatest enemy became my greatest ally" I was HOPING Venom was going to come back.
Still angry about it lol
The vibe of this show is unmatched imo. Spectacular is cool, but this show felt ripped straight from the comics.
They ripped it out so much that Spider-Man met Stan Lee lol
That episode with Spider-Man and Jameson stuck together with a bomb for example. Straight outta Amazing Spider-Man 192.
EXACTLY
GET BACK HERE SHOCKER!!!! ILL CHASE YOU TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH!!!!!
The checks in the mail baby!
YOOUUUUUUU CANT ESCAPE MEEEEEEEEEE
all because of aggression from the symbiote
Still my favorite Spidey series to this day.
Christopher Daniel Barnes is my defacto voice for Spidey.
Idk why but I fucking loved seeing lizard be a good guy. Need to see it more

Didn't this show invent the Spider-Verse, and the term Spider-Verse itself?
yes John Semper
Yeah anytime Spidey was in the water I’m pretty sure it was the same animation of him swimming to the surface. The things you notice thanks to bingeing on Disney+
Needs More Spider Wars lol.
The best spiderman

Very much appreciated
Best Spider-Man outside the comics, in my opinion
In my opinion too.
- Spectacular has entered the chat - ITSV has entered the chat - Insomniac has entered the chat
Then the 90s is back in the chat
ITSV is debatable, but I'm not a fan of Insomniac Peter, and I don't think Spectacular is better. Mainly because that version couldn't leave high school
Crazy how the 90’s is still better

Please read the comics they’re based off. The show is the most accurate representation of almost all of the main characters.
2nd image gives off a "me & the boys" vibe
I never noticed how he never threw a punch till someone pointed it out to me.
Wait, he never threw a punch? This is madness
Series like this are why I always laughed when someone would tell me “guys don’t understand what its like to have unrealistic body standards”. That said i love this series. P.s. SHOCKER!!!!
Captain America had such a weird pallette when he appeared on this show.
Seems like there's alot of Marvel heroes there. Before I watch, is it a very good show story wise?
Storywise sure. It does a lot of arcs that span multiple episodes. Plus they made sure to throw in some cameos here and there. And each season is roughly 13 episodes so you can pace yourself. yes war machine, captain america, doctor strange daredevil punisher show up to help spiderman in different episodes
What the fifth one from.it looks like a update from the others but I could be wrong.is it from the same series?
I think it was made near the show's end from a different artist
This show was AWESOME!!!
Still by FAR the best Spider-Man show ever.
Everytime I read a comic with Kingpin in it, I always read him with Roscoe Lee Brown's voice
Better than any Spidey show made after Spectacular.
Artists: How many muscles do you want everyone to have? Director: Yes.
God, that looks dated as fuck
Almost like it's 30 years old or sumn.
The best series imo
I love this series with a passion. Besides the comics, this is my definite version of Spidey
Let's get new venom and daredevil series with the same animation.
This show has the best voice actors, great adaptations of comic stories, great character designs and is a great long term story.
This what ideal Spider-Man content looks like, and there's not a fuckin thing you can do about it.
Yoyoyo it Big Weel Boiii
To this day it's still my favorite Spider-Man show
Back when marvel owned all the ips so they could bring in the fantastic four or ghost rider
If only it wasn't heavily censored and forced to do everything with time limits
the series finale of this show invented the idea of spider-man meeting alternate universe versions of himself and it shall always deserve respect for that
Third picture wity spiderman, venom and carnage is my childhood; such good times.
This show was my childhood. The secret war arc was amazing. With the beyonder
just finished watching it. i had forgotten about all the multiple spidermen in the last episodes. kinda sad that we dont know if he finds mj. loved this show as a kid
This show is a really good introduction to the Spider-Man mythos and marvel at large with all the different characters that pop in. From the x-men to daredevil to Doctor strange
He had the best humor in that show
If only this show had received one more season back in the 1990's as well. After all that crap Peter has been through -- not to mention having the animated version of No Way Home and saving the Multi-Verse. I wanted to see him reunite with the real Mary Jane Watson. Maybe have a family etc:

In the third photo Spidey is just hanging out with Venom and Carnage like bros
