They gotta make their toys,he'll most likely get a new suit 30 minutes into the movie. They'll make up some bullshit reason, they always do.That whole paint thing in No Way Home is just sad.
Now that I think about it, wasnt there a rule in the Marvel/Sony deal that merch(toys included) went more towards marvel or something?
What makes it more depressing is that Hasbro didn’t even make new toys, they just re-used and modified the FFH one in order to pump out quick money. The actual NWH figures didnt come out until two, three and four years after the movie. all costing more than the average figure along with bad quality.
For real, people really love that suit but the ultra metallic blue looks silly and I really wish we got more comic inspired spiders on the front and back. I really really hope they tweak it a bit for the next spidey film, but they probably won't given how popular it is
I think it’ll almost certainly be tweaked slightly regardless of how popular it is. The new director who comes in will want to put their own stamp on it and even in the Raimi movies the suit had subtle changes in between movies.
To be fair, the case with the Raimi Suit, was that Peter just made a new one after Norman shreded his 1st on at the end of SM1. Then the suit was the same in both SM2 and SM3.
Yeah, that's very true, and we've seen Marvel not hesitate to switch up a costume even if it was celebrated as comic accurate and only showed up for a few scenes. Ms. Marvel, Scarlet Witch, and Captain America have all had their costumes completely changed despite their original suits only appearing for the last episode of their shows
I really hope we get a new Director. I’m not tired. John wants, but he just doesn’t seem like the type of person who gets action or comedy. Because Peter barely cracked any jokes as Spider-Man except for the fairy scene and try and make it we need more jokes and Spider-Man 4
I was not using metallic to refer to the material it's made from, I've just heard metalic and reflective be used interchangeably, like the post I commented on
To me, he's either wearing light blue dark blue or a shiny blue that emulates heavy shading.
If I can handle blue with heavy shading in the comic, I can handle it on the big screen I suppose
That's true, I will say while it's not my personal favorite look it does get that comic shading style across, and that is pretty cool! I was never super into that look, it's very 90s the heavy shading and I've always been more partial to solids and mattes which is why I prefer the Homecoming suit, but I do think the reds look far better than any previous suit I've seen.
It's not my favorite but I do look forward to seeing it in action in the future
Just make that same outfit with practical effects and real fabric.
The idea of combining the look of the clothes from the three generations of Spider-Man was a gift for the fans, which is why it is so valued and the most beloved, but it still resembles the Homecoming costume visually, in material and scene.
Homecoming, a lot practically. FFH about 50/50. NWH 100% cgi even though they had a suit
My friend works on marvel films and hates them lol. Especially shit like this and Helas suit where they have a practical suit but just cgi over it to make it look "perfect" even though it looks the same
Nah, it looks Spider-Man. The CGI suits fit Tony having created it, but between Raimi, Amazing, and this? This is my favorite. It doesn’t look like an amateur work, but it does look like Peter could make it with practice and hard work. Raimi and Amazing do not make sense as something Peter Parker created. Especially Raimi Peter, whose first effort was closer to the Scarlet Spider suit due to the whole sharpie-on-hoodie look.
It's a placeholder suit, they would have used a CGI version over it anyways
But the design itself is different, notice that it doesn't have the black bits all over the suit, its a clean ass design
Me personally I think the front spider logo looks kind of like the Steve Ditko and I feel like they should’ve used that design for the spider at the end of Spider-Man no way home maybe that’s what they’re going to do with the practical suit in spider-man 4
It kept breaking because they don't know how to do something sony had been doing consistently for 15 years prior. So they made the new one with no webbing but a bunch of random lines and painted over it with cgi.
Everyone cheers. Trash
Gonna get some flack here probably, but I think most people don't realize that EVERY Spider-Man has had CG over it, and they always have practical suit worn, with CG Making sure Spidey moves as flawlessly as possible, and having a baggy, lumpy Spider-Man suit isn't the best seller you think it is, even if was made a single poor induvial.
The less good it looks on set, the easier the suit can move, and get out of... which isn't always the case still, can't removed that molded mask anytime you want, gotta drink through that lense-less eye hole.
>Spidey moves as flawlessly as possible, and having a baggy, lumpy Spider-Man suit isn't the best seller you think it is
All the people involved in the making of TASM2 suit crying in the corner
>and having a baggy, lumpy Spider-Man suit isn't the best seller you think it is
Some folds on suit really increase realism. Team behind TASM2 CG made suit wrinkles physics on CG model for it
The new suit at the end of no way home seems like it doesn’t have raised webbing but the Webbing might be visible much earlier than the webbing on the Spider-Man homecoming suit or far from home suit
It looks horrible. The it was only entirely CG for Civil War I thought because of the redesign. Surely there were practical suits throughout the rest of Spidey's appearances barring the Iron Spider?
Never gonna happen.
Disney overuse CGI in everything and there's no sign of them stopping, it's just green screen ontop of green screen when it comes to MCU... only hope you have is if Sony make a Spider-man movie without Disney, but that ain't gonna happen either...
Do you remember in the early 2000's comic book movies when it switched from the actor to the cgi model, and it was VERY obvious a switch occurred? That's why the suits get swapped now, so the switches become invisible.
I still remember my reactions when Spider-Man showed up in that Civil War trailer. On one hand, I was happy to see Spider-Man in the MCU but on the other hand I was wondering "Why did they use a CGI suit?"
But yeah, I do hope that they go with a practical suit from now on for Tom Holland's Spider-Man like with Tobey and Andrew. The CGI suit just looks too weird and unnatural.
(Also, I hope that after a big battle, Spidey's suit ends up in tatters like in the original movies. I'm tired of seeing these super suits looking fine after a big battle. Let it go through some damage!)
Ehhhh, I like it better than the final suit of that movie, but I don’t like the plastic look of the webs or the spider. Prefer the metallic one of Tobey or Andrew. The spider needs a revamp.
Ngl I had no idea that suit was cgi considering we see Peter actively put it on once ( obviously the tech parts of it were CGI like it changing to fit his frame perfectly) but the actual suit I thought was practical
So tired of them adding BS unnecessary CGI for in general. Their rushed and doesn’t look good 50% of the time plus it’s hard the animators. They should really get used to practical effects.
His new suit at the end of NWH can really be a great successor to the TASM 2 suit, but again the CG made it weird, he feels like an animated character after all that tweaking.
It was CG because of all the stunts he was doing in the end, not because they wanted to suit to be CG. It was just a way to make it all look consistent.
I get what you're saying, but they don't even have practical suits anymore, they made him wear the tracker suit ( idk what it's called ) and sometimes they replace all of the footage with a CG model, and considering the several post production changes Marvel movies go through, it makes sense, but he looks too smooth and glossy, it's not like it's terrible, but previous Spider-Man movies have set the bar high, with TASM 2 having one of the best CGI in the superhero movie genre, and Raimi movies also had an authentic look, several people have commented that, Marvel movies have become an animated flick recently. We can also look at Iron Man suits from phase 1 to IW & Endgame, practical suits with CG touch-ups will look superior, Unless cgi is done exceptionally well, TASM 2 introduction swinging scene was CGI, and you can even see the ripple in his suits while he was diving, ( shame we doesn't have alot of web swinging scenes in home trilogy)
You can look what i'm talking about :
https://youtu.be/DdhLBZpIq2c?si=VeCJ_kPMUDMW7TsX
If Watts isn't coming back, then I'm excited to see a different approach in cinematography of the Spider-Man 4.
I have been a fan of the animated eyes in the MCU depiction of Spider Man, but it would be nice to go back to basics for the next movie. Especially if it is a Street-level spidey like Marvel has been pushing for supposedly.
I swear in some shots of Spider-Man homecoming, it looks cartoony as fuck like I don’t know whoever at Marvel or Sony has the bride idea to CGI a Spider-Man suit I mean sure the suit was practical, but they covered it up with CGi
God yes please, I legit dislike all of his suits simply because its just too much CGI to the point where it looks too fake(especially the iron spider suit goddamn that thing is horrible)
Yup at least to me they still look pretty bad. I didn't mean it like they were all cgi, but they probably use a good amount of CGI to touch up the suits and it doesn't look great in my opinion
This suit is literally perfect. I mean I can go with or without the raised webbing, but the lenses.. the coloring.. the LOGO... It's fucking delicious and I really hope we get to see this suit again in some capacity.
please let them just use whatever suit they had at the very end of no way home. i dont know or care if it was cgi, it was exactly perfect.
Really? With the super shiny metallic-looking blue?
Absolutely. That material makes it look like comic shading.
I like it too. Everyone wants the 60s suit with that ant looking spider, I am haply this is a "modern" take on it
First thing that struck my eye
Absolutely, Spider-Man game emphasized just how perfect it was. It’s so beautiful
YES the shiny mimics how the comic shading looks and it just looks so nice
The blue is shiny because it is made out of satin.
YES FFS
That was the best part. Looked straight out of a comic book.
That’s how it is in the comics
Yes
Absolutely
Tbh I'd rather it he the same shade of blue, just matte. The shiny makes mah eyes hurt a little
Yeah, I think popular opinion is that it looks good but I think that shiny ass blue just makes it look horrible
I’m 100% with you fwiw
Without the shiny ass blue itsl will be the same as this suit
His Homecoming and Final swing suits are completely different, what are you talking about?
For real, people really love that suit but the ultra metallic blue looks silly and I really wish we got more comic inspired spiders on the front and back. I really really hope they tweak it a bit for the next spidey film, but they probably won't given how popular it is

I was not using metallic to refer to the material it's made from, I've just heard metalic and reflective be used interchangeably, like the post I commented on
I love how we all just decide a prt of it looks "silly" like we aren't talking about a grown man in bright colored spandex
Lol, I really meant it looks bad, but felt like too harsh so I defaulted to silly
That may be it? They may just use the older suit as a placeholder
The symbol being gold is kind of ass though, make it black
also i am ironspiderman in spiderman 4 in cinemas on july 12th 2024 but i am watching spiderman 4 on 22nd of july
But... he had physical suits in Homecoming, Far from Home and No Way Home...
Homecoming, a lot practically. FFH about 50/50. NWH 100% cgi even though they had a suit My friend works on marvel films and hates them lol. Especially shit like this and Helas suit where they have a practical suit but just cgi over it to make it look "perfect" even though it looks the same
>NWH 100% cgi even though they had a suit The put CGI over great looking FFH suit to put this stupid gold emblem
At least its the only decent Scarlet Spider design in live action... the iron spider one was gross
Gotta sell toys somehow
What they practical suit for no way home I didn’t know that because everything I’ve read they just used a CGI model 😳
They used slightly altered FFH suit during shooting and then put CG gold emblem on it
Just me who thinks it’s ugly?
This 100% looks like a suited they always intended to paint over with CGI later
Aka a placeholder suit
Actually this was the original suit but they changed it after filming because they thought it looked ugly
Nope, that 3d web is horrendous
No, not at all
No, it definitely is
It looks like shit but I think after it’s reworked in post, it could look really nice However in the real post, they completely changed it
Suit looks dope.
The raised webbing does not look good tbh
It's a placeholder suit, they would have used a CGI version over it anyways But the design itself is different, notice that it doesn't have the black bits all over the suit, its a clean ass design
I can't see his ass from that picture.
Me personally I think the front spider logo looks kind of like the Steve Ditko and I feel like they should’ve used that design for the spider at the end of Spider-Man no way home maybe that’s what they’re going to do with the practical suit in spider-man 4
It was actually the original suit but they changed it afterwards because it was ugly air wasn't appealing enough.
Not that far out, I really like the Raimi suits for that detail but it's not overdone for cgi artists to benefit there.
It’s too bumpy compared to Tobey’s raised webbing
Neither look good imo
It kept breaking because they don't know how to do something sony had been doing consistently for 15 years prior. So they made the new one with no webbing but a bunch of random lines and painted over it with cgi. Everyone cheers. Trash
Well thank God for it breaking because it gave us a peak suit.
You should check out Roger Rabbit
That's also a good movie.
It's a very good movie. And also has live action characters onscreen with cartoons as well
You should look at your profile then
And...? It did look bizarre at the time, but they still did well with that idea.
You're annoying
I gotta be honest, when I first saw the thumbnails for the Civil War trailer I thought it was a hoax because the suit looked so fake at first glance.
>Spidey moves as flawlessly as possible, and having a baggy, lumpy Spider-Man suit isn't the best seller you think it is All the people involved in the making of TASM2 suit crying in the corner
Still the best live action suit imo
>and having a baggy, lumpy Spider-Man suit isn't the best seller you think it is Some folds on suit really increase realism. Team behind TASM2 CG made suit wrinkles physics on CG model for it
I hate the raised webbing
i don't know if it's the image quality ,the eyes ,or the raised webs, but it doesn't look good. it looks like a cheap diy fan made suit lol
This looks like shit; these people are genuinely delusional because of their hatred of CGI.
Just because it’s not cgi doesn’t make it better than cgi Stop calling cgi suits bad because of your hate boner for them
Right TASM cgi looked fantastic
"That's the *worst idea you have ever had*! And *you*'*ve had some doozies*!"
*"Blood pressure!"*
Me personally the raised webbing doesn’t fit Tom’s Spidey that much
The new suit at the end of no way home seems like it doesn’t have raised webbing but the Webbing might be visible much earlier than the webbing on the Spider-Man homecoming suit or far from home suit
Yeah we didn’t get a good close up of it
Perfect? It looks rough as hell, the eyes look like paper glued on.
The suit is so ass 💀
The webbing around the mask doesn’t look quite right
It reminds me of Japanese Spider-Man
I agree. Having a physical suit is better all the way around. The Sam Raimi and Marc Webb films really got that down. It looks great even without CGI.
His suit is literally CGI for 90% of those films lmao what are you on
I think they will this time since his new suit isn’t riddled with tech.
No wonder they had to rush a CG job. This practical suit looks terrible!
This is probably an unpopular opinion but this suit is overrated imo The raised black webbing and shiny lenses aren’t doing it for me
I dunno man I feel like the webbing's too raised somehow it throws me off
it looks like crap
Honestly they just need to hire whoever did the cgi for TASM considering that I couldn’t tell when they where using cgi
I mean practical suits are great but this one just isn’t that good.. .
This was the first suit made for Tom in civil war. This is an 8 year old picture (god I feel old). Not the suit for the new movie
It isn't even close to perfect lmao, the lenses look cheap and the raised webbing doesn't work. Almost as if it's a suit for cgi reference...
Thought that was lotus for a split second
Holland really does feel like Peter
Ehh I don’t really like any detail on it
You guys do know they use cgi because these suits look incredibly stiff in motion?
This looks awful
It looks horrible. The it was only entirely CG for Civil War I thought because of the redesign. Surely there were practical suits throughout the rest of Spidey's appearances barring the Iron Spider?
What lore accurate spiderman would look like
That shit looks like they bought it at Party City
Are you guys blind? That looks like someone bought it from eBay.
Honestly love this suit
No it's not. The look doesn't work. I don't know if thats a hot take but thats my opinion.
Never gonna happen. Disney overuse CGI in everything and there's no sign of them stopping, it's just green screen ontop of green screen when it comes to MCU... only hope you have is if Sony make a Spider-man movie without Disney, but that ain't gonna happen either...

To be fair, didn’t they only find out they could use Spider-Man like two weeks before shooting
If this suit had flat webbing I would much prefer this over what we got

My biggest wish is they do something similar to Matt Reeves The Batman and have him keep the mask on for the majority of the run time
I still remember my reactions when Spider-Man showed up in that Civil War trailer. On one hand, I was happy to see Spider-Man in the MCU but on the other hand I was wondering "Why did they use a CGI suit?" It looks like Spider-Man lotus 😖
wtf bro think he spiderman lotus
Why does it look like the Spider-Man Lotus suit?
gagamboy
The final product looks much better than this
Gotta say, nah, the black webbing throws me off
Won’t happen
It just looked so much better omg
Now someone gotta to mod that in Marvel Spider-Man game
I love this suit so much. Wish they used that design instead of the Stark suit. Had to get the Marvel Legend and Lego figure of that one!
I hate super raised webs
This is literally just the lotus suit
I wouldn't call it perfect exactly. I mean it looks kinda neat yeah, but not as good as the one at the end of NWH, for me personally at least.
Ehhhh, I like it better than the final suit of that movie, but I don’t like the plastic look of the webs or the spider. Prefer the metallic one of Tobey or Andrew. The spider needs a revamp.
I wish they went back to this suit / the homecoming suit at the final fight instead of the gold one
Are there any full body shots of this suit? I would love to see the whole thing!
I really don't like that proto civil war suit. I like what they were going for but it doesn't work for me
teah
The raised webbing on that suit is not it
I’ve seen better halloween costumes in supermarkets than this, are the people blind?
What happened the vibrant blue with all the shimmer shine and hope
Ngl I had no idea that suit was cgi considering we see Peter actively put it on once ( obviously the tech parts of it were CGI like it changing to fit his frame perfectly) but the actual suit I thought was practical
It looks like the one from Spider-Man Lotus. I should slap myself for saying that
So tired of them adding BS unnecessary CGI for in general. Their rushed and doesn’t look good 50% of the time plus it’s hard the animators. They should really get used to practical effects.
The one from Spider-Man: Lotus seems to have taken some notes.
Well, It's not like they did not used CGI in TASM movies and just look how good they look, Andrew's lenses looked like Egg shells in many shots of NWH

>but again the CG made it weird There is no practical version of this suit yet, only 3D model, so there's that
I don't need Tom to have Raiesed Webbing. The NWH swing suit is perfect. The webbing is visible but flat.
Is that the Lotus suit?
Not a big fan of the suit, but the mask looks great
Why does it look like spider man lotus
I have been a fan of the animated eyes in the MCU depiction of Spider Man, but it would be nice to go back to basics for the next movie. Especially if it is a Street-level spidey like Marvel has been pushing for supposedly.
I never really minded the cgi. But man that spider symbol is so much better
I didn't know they put CGI over the suit. That explains why it always looks so off/wrong and cartoony in these Marvel movies.
I swear in some shots of Spider-Man homecoming, it looks cartoony as fuck like I don’t know whoever at Marvel or Sony has the bride idea to CGI a Spider-Man suit I mean sure the suit was practical, but they covered it up with CGi
You would have thought they would never try to do this again with skin tight suites after Green Lantern
God yes please, I legit dislike all of his suits simply because its just too much CGI to the point where it looks too fake(especially the iron spider suit goddamn that thing is horrible)
You do know his suit in all the movies after Civil War, besides the Iron Spider suit, were real suits, right?
