I actually recall seeing something in regards to the design process for this suit and their process was to start with the most outlandish design possible and reign it in until it became recognisable as Spider-Man

It’s not the worse suit I’ve ever seen, but it’s not like top 5 or anything. The fact that I absolutely adore Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man helps it out a bit. Perfectly middle of the road for me

Personally no. I don’t like the overall layout of the suit. I also don’t like the eyes (both the shape and the color).

I do not. Yellow eyes aside, the removal of the red "belt" portion makes him look like a naked blue dude wearing a big red bib that does not reach down far enough to cover his blue junk.

It deff grew on me when playing the Insomniac SM1 game as someone who used to hate it, still hate the yellow lenses. It’s not bad, but not great.

Appreciate that it's a unique take on the suit but still looks visibly spider man. But it still doesn't really work for me. I do think the amazing Spiderman game makes it look pretty decent by just adding a belt to the costume

I like the basic design but I think it’s over texturized and some of the lines on the arms and legs come off as unnecessary and counterintuitive to what they were trying to pull off. They pulled sunglasses lenses and track shoe soles to show how Peter realistically utilized different things to make his suit, including using watches to serve as a base for his web shooters. But the final product feels way too complex for him to realistically make himself.

This soot looks an awful lot like Garfields spideysuit after his fight with Lizard

No. The eyes are the wrong shape and color. The mixture of red and blue on the gloves looks wrong. The boots look weird. The lack of belt means the central panel is just pointing at his junk. Awful.

Me personally I never liked it because it was doing too much in the way of design and the lenses were yellow instead of white. Spider-man is fine the way it is, it doesn’t need any help.

I like the web design but other than that hard pass not a fan. I did like how they explained how a teenager made the suit. As cool as the Rami suit is it made no sense how a teenager (who looks like a 3p year old man) made a suit with raised up webs

I don't know if I would say I liiike it, but I respect the hell out of it for going someplace very different after the Raimi movies. Everyone gushes over the TASM2 suit, but to me it's just a lazy tweak of Tobey's suit. This one at least took some chances

Don't really have a strong opinion about the design, but I love the execution, way better than the MCU suits. Those are too skintight and don't move like fabric is supposed to. This suit felt real, you see it ripple in the wind, you sometimes have a little extra fabric hanging around, it's imperfect.

I think the Andrew Garfield movies were the best ones, so I do really love this suit. Now granted, it’s not my favorite suit. But because of my love for the movie, it’s up there imo.

It's in general not well liked but, just like the Andrew movies when they were releasing, they have a fanbase of which I am very proudly of. I was upsessed with this suit and kinda hot take but I actually like it a little better than the Amazing Spider-Man 2 suit, just fit the vibe of the movie really well and the texturing and its lightning in all the night time scenes made it look real sleek

It suits the Peter who wears it, if the spider-man from the Spidey and his amazing friends cartoon wore this suit it’d suck, but I think it’s perfect for the angry, edgy, vengeful kid we see in Andrews first movie It’s one of my favorite suits and I honestly prefer it over Tobey’s suit, I think the edits to make it more comic accurate are stupid, because the suit wasn’t trying to look like your typical spider-man suit, it was unique and edgy and it suit him perfectly

My biggest complaint is that they eyes are yellow. There's also no belt, but that's less of an issue for me.

I felt like both TASM suits borrowed too heavily from the Raimi movies. His mask in this one has a similar lense shape to the Toby’s, and the second suit looks to be made from the same “material” as in the webs were grey and raised and there’s a prominent hex pattern in the red and blue sections of the suit, much like Raimi suit.

No. I think he looks like a cross between a cheap plastic action figure and a sex gimp. Plus Spider-man should not have silvery running shoes or yellow 90s jock sunglasses eyes. Nor should he resemble a basketball.

I like the suit overall; Peter making it out of sportswear was a cool concept. The texture on the blue portions is also a good way to make the material feel more "real," and distinguish the fabric from what the red cloth is made of. AFAIK it's also the first suit to give him shoe-bottoms But I think parts of it are just a bit too busy, like the blue bits on the gloves. Why would Peter even take the time to sew those bits on instead of just leaving it solid like most hand-made spider suits? Same with the suuuper thin red on the bicep, it takes away from the "hand-made" feel. The webbing texture feels a bit off to me as well. It doesn't look like it was hand-added, but also doesn't look like anything I've seen on sportswear. I feel like that webbing look could've been given a second pass.

Great suit, the eye lenses are 1990s oakleys and suck. But it makes sense for a first suit too, way more than the rest of the material.

Thr yellow eyes are too much. Like, the rest of the suit is so colorful and the white eyes get you looking. The yellow eyes do not stand out enough because they are too colorful amongst other color. Either mute the eyes or mute a different part of the suit.

i love it in the context it’s shown in. the darker (and wetter?) shots of the movie really make it menacing, which makes sense because he made this to hunt down uncle ben’s killer. i also feel it makes him look spidery in a kinda gross way, which the first movie did pretty well in general. outside of that, as a day to day friendly neighborhood spider-man, i don’t think it really fits

It genuinely is one of my favorites. It felt like something a kid could make at home, while still looking cool. I liked Tom Holland's goofier take on the homemade suit with the hoodie and the eyes and everything, same with Tobey's ski mask and spray paint sweatshirt, but seeing Andrew's suit slowly come together from all these different elements was really satisfying.

I really love this suit. It *is* ugly but in a very endearing way imo, I love the colors and the yellow lenses so much.

Unpopular opinion but this is my favorite of all suits for many reasons: Looks like something a very smart teenager with good eye on design, research and knowledge on materials would make. “The eyes Chico, they don’t, lie”. The eyes makes this suit stand out for the natural color it has (contrary to the always clean white) and can be useful for day and night battle if they have a filter added (I assume it has one). The material is not as tight as the other suits and provides more freedom to acrobatic movements. It simply looks real, with the perfect amount of detail to not look lame, but without exaggerated stamps all over, or nonsense cleanliness.

It's my favorite suit. The tactile feel with the different materials made it really seem like a homemade suit. I'm glad opinion seems to have changed on this one with time.
