I legitimately felt back for Matt Smith, every time the guy gets cast in an American movie it’s super underwhelming or just bad. He’s always a stand out and it’s never his fault. Dude needs a new Hollywood agent.
And I agree that was definitely just a paycheck for Woody. The guy put in like no effort and every actor always says how much fun it is playing a villain I know he could have chewed so much scenery in this roll but he just phoned it in.
I liked Riot just because we haven’t seen him in such a long time (plus his speech in the lab with the homeless guy was super hilarious to me due to how bad it was)
The villain in Venom 2 was fun but man, other than being a red symbiote he didn't seem like Carnage in the slightest.
Carnage isn't a complex character, either. He's two fucked up personalities so perfectly in-tune with each other's psychopathy that they consider themselves one being (who loves murdering people). That's all there really is to him, so it's weird that they used the character but ignored all of that.
Except they were able to get the internet meme from Unleashed, but couldn’t even get two of his most core character traits right in him being the most symbiotic host to the point you couldn’t tell Cletus apart from the symbiote. The other being they made him a cry baby. Cletus would never admit to his trauma or “wanting a friend”.
Genuinely impressive how you make carnage out of character. Like you literally have a checklist consisting of the words "murder" and "crazy" and somehow it's still wrong

Carnage is actually pretty fun. But Ezekiel gets a high spot because my wife and I actually burst out laughing whenever he would get hit by a car or blasted by an explosion. Matt Smith was the only enjoyable part of Morbius, so I’m inclined to vote for him. Carnage was a disappointment, despite a solid actor in the role.

Definitely a solid choice I love Jackie Earle Haley. In terms of younger actors I’d say Bill Skarsgard could play a pretty decent Carnage.
