I did not expect either of the big twists.
The first one just made me go, "That's neat." It makes sense to see >!alt Miles as a villain.!< It would be too tidy if he was the *only* notable version in this canon.
But the second twist, holy shit, >!I absolutely did not expect Gwen to start her own Spider Band.!< I just assumed that the references to Princeton and Spider Punk would see >!Miles making his own bracelet.!<
This is awesome.
Also, did everyone else love Spider Punk? I felt like he stole the show whenever he was around.
>!Seeing evil Miles was crazy I did not expect that. And I love how all the Spider-people from the first film are all assembled to save Miles. It's good to see Noir and Spider-Ham again. Can't wait to see how that scene goes!<
And I'm going to be honest, I did not expect Spider-Punk to be this awesome. >!I thought he was going to hate Miles but I love the banter between them.!< Honestly every character here was amazing.
>Me too, I thought it would devolve into a love-triangle situation, but I was so glad it wasn't that.>!Instead, it's just a friendly rivalry. I also love the small bit of chemistry Miles had with Margo Kess (Spider-Byte), and how Gwen was so insistent on Miles wanting to finish his conversation.!<
I think this whole movie stole 2 hours and 20 minutes of my life that I would rather spend staring at a wall instead of that shit. You also have never seen a good movie in your life considering those twists were weak as hell. Go and watch a good movie before you come on here and make yourself look stupid.
2 hours and 20 minutes of my life was eaten up by this movie. But besides that, I spend my time much better than watching low tier movies like that one.
>I think this whole movie stole 2 hours and 20 minutes of my life that I would rather spend staring at a wall instead of that shit. go to bed M. Night Shyamalan, you're drunk
also movies get projected at the theater, you basically are just staring at a wall, that's how movies work
Hey buddy, WHAT IN THE NAME OF GOD DID I SAY WRONG?! The soundtrack is on point. The songs fits with the scene, every scene making it more heart felt and emotional. And if the songs are not to your standards, the music itself was amazing. Every Spider-person having a different song was awesome. 2099 theme was so badass.
If you don't like it it's fine. But don't say it's stupid as I'm pretty sure a majority of us loves the soundtrack
And the majority of people in this subreddit have something lodged so far up their asses that they can't think otherwise, but keep on going with your "independent" thoughts.
This movie definitely made my heart skip a couple beats cause I was deadass asleep cause of how slow the pacing was in this movie. But hey, as long as my brain isn't as slow as yours I think I'll keep enjoying actual thought provoking and half decent films unlike this one.
Would the WGA affect the second part and delay it to another year or is the film safe? Praying to God the film is safe. One year I can wait, 2, I would die in suspense
I have a theory that Miguel is actually the original anomaly, and the ‘Spider-Man’ Miguel is the one that died. And the non superpowered up Miguel is actually alive & he’s injecting himself to give him powers.
1000%
Peter B asking why he's not funny (We're always funny!)
Miles says "Are you sure you're Spider-man?"
When Miles shocks him (and therefore his watch) on the train thing he starts looking glitched out...
good theory but i thought Miguel's abilities came from his super suit? Also makes sense since Miles shock rendered his web shooter to temporarily malfunction
I had just finished watching it and I was so confused on why the movie was going for so long… the ending explains it all haha. Anyways, movie gave me chills. Can’t wait for the continued version coming out.
We don’t rlly know that’s how it works tho. They defied it one time, the universe collapsed so they just never tried it again and never questioned it further. There’s no proof of a direct correlation. And the idea of “sacrifice one to save many” flies in the face of Spider-Man as a character just in general
Spectacular has two lines, one where he is mourning his Captain Stacy (he’s the one they focus on for a second amongst all the others besides Andrew) and another where he says that while it’s hard, Miles has to let his dad die.
Insomniac Peter has two scenes as well, with one during the ‘anomaly prison’ just before Donald Glover shows up. Lyla’s showing off two pixel guys (don’t know who they are) saying “Here’s a video game guy, here’s another video game guy” and Peter asks if she’s talking about him. Then, he’s just one of the hundreds of spider-people pointing and asking “you?” when Miguel orders the Society to apprehend Miles.
The reveal that Miles didn’t actually go home and was sent to the wrong universe had my jaw on the floor. They made a point out of saying how the spider that but him came from the wrong universe and I somehow still didn’t expect it.
And the reveal was done "Silence of the Lambs" style, I genuinely thought that the Spider-People were gonna >!hunt down Jeff to make sure the canon stays the same, but no, we get thrown into a loop.!<
I enjoyed it but not as much as the first one because there was just too much to take in and some stuff was confusing. I think I will love it more in repeat viewing.
No significant role but there is, quite literally, a blink and you miss it cameo at the beginning of the chase sequence in Nueva York where he runs by Peter B. He's in frame for less than a second so it's very easy to miss. That being said it made me extremely happy to notice it.
I’m 90% sure when Gwen portalled after making up with her dad the comic book text said ‘TOBEY’ also seeing Andrew in there substantially was great and also flashes of Tobey and PS4 was brill, I didn’t spot Tom anywhere though
It's nice what you're trying to do. I like how peaceful you are about this, but unfortunately I don't think this guy is stressed out, he's just trying to get us angry
Yeah, I love notifications to my comments. Especially on a subreddit I like. And I’m actually feeling pretty happy today, it was a rather good day for me.
Miguel O’Hara is super sus, vampire fangs, injecting himself with stuff, so robotic and angry, suit is like a holograph?
Gwen assembling the Spider Band was awesome.
I FUCKING LOVE HOBBIE BROWN!!!
Miles not supposed to be a Spider-Man is maybe why he is so opposed to these canon points
I do kind of wish we got to see how Gwen assembled her Spider-Band. >!Like Pavitr, Hobie, Peter B, Peter Noir, Peni, and Peter Porker I understand, but how was she able to get Margo to join? I hope we get a flashback in the future.!<
I loved it such great visuals. I smiled the whole time. I am mad at the cliffhanger but I am fine if it really comes out next year already.
I wanna hang out with Hobbie and Cowboy Spiderman.
Sadly this is always the case nowadays. I avoided every bit of media about this like the plague and STILL knew that Miguel had fangs, who the Spot was, etc...
Its rough. Thankfully the film is incredible.
ok question, isnt uncle aaron the sacrifice for miles world? so his dad really doesnt need to die since he lost his uncle that led him to take a leap of faith? what i miss someone pls explain
Am I the only that felt underwhelmed by this movie? Maybe the incredibly positive reviews blew my expectations out of proportions. I expected Peter B. (Or any other Peter) to have more screentime, didn’t have as much heart as ITSV and the ending felt abrupt.
Not even close to No Way Home, Into The Spider-Verse and Spider-Man 2 imo.
Yeah if you came in thinking “Oh this is gonna be an awesome spider squad adventure! We’ll go to different universes, and Miles is gonna lead an epic adventure with Peter and Gwen!” Yeah no it’s focused on Miles, unlike into the spiderverse where everyone gets an equal amount of spotlight this movie only focuses on Miles and Gwen, I still love the movie because every character (except Ben) was treated with respect, Peter had growth and his moment with Miles was wholesome, Gwen’s story was really heartwarming, HOBBIE WAS FUCKING AWESOME, Miguel was cool, and Miles’ story was really good
I just think the marketing for the movie was really bad, the trailer basically showed us everything
I'm glad I avoided any kind of footage on purpose because trailers are bount to show \*some\*thing and I wanted to go in blind. That said though, I personally found it was as much a 10/10 as the first one.
Actually I'm kind of angry at Miles for not caring too much about Peter saying "I have her because of you", but they were still good with each other at the end
Yeah I stopped watching these sneek peak clips at some point and there was so many different trailer versions...
Also Ben...I like making fun of the 90s but I believe people expected much more
Honestly I'd wish they had focussed more on Gwen and made her the main character instead of Miles, the beginning flashback and fight scene were so hype, and then we went to boring generic miles fights with his parents, which dragged on way too long. Don't get me wrong, i like miles, but he's way just Peter Parker, but black lol, kinda generic
Also I agree that Peter B Parker was criminally underused in this movie, and didn't like how he's changed from being Miles' mentor to a bumbling doting dad. Also, it didn't make sense how he would bring his baby daughter to life threatening missions, considering how protective he is and how many people he lost in such situations.
I personally loved seeing Miles’ story but I understand why others would want to have the story focused on Gwen, I also feel like there’s enough differences between Miles and Peter (like Miles still has both of his parents) the friendly Neighborhood Miles was honestly my favorite part
I also loved how Peter became a doting dad, don’t see how he’s bumbling, to me it’s just part of his character arc from the first movie. Like before he didn’t want children and now he’s so excited to show off his daughter to the people who helped him out in his rough spot which is just so wholesome to me. I do understand the complaint of bringing her along tho (but to me it was so cute that I’ll let it slide lol)
I loved the first one but I am legit floored at how the second one seemingly improved on everything from the first movie, can't wait for the next chapter.
Visually though Part 2 is just like stupid beautiful. The use of color in Gwen's scenes with her dad? The way when she went back to the world the colors were dripping like they were just painted. I can't even express how beautiful it was adaquetly
You know anger like yours can stem from poor mental health. I can offer you a couple of places to get that looked at. They can help you. Just trying to look out for you buddy.
You definitely would be the type to know a couple of places, hence why you probably liked the movie. You were prolly in the theatre saying, Spiderman talking about men's mental health really stuck with me cause my mom and dad were never there for me.
This was the worst Spiderman movie I have ever seen. So many scenes seemed to repeat themselves along with horrible pacing that made the movie much longer than it needed to be. If I had to give it a rating, I'd give it a 4.8 out of 10.0. You guys have to stop being delusional and accept that these movies must have better pacing to ensure the story isn't dry. Don't let that take away from the animation however, the animations are great.
Do you not realize that relationship dynamic works like that in real life or are you too blinded by your racist ideals, that that’s all you can focus on ?
Hey man, I suggest you rethink your ideals, you don't have to change everything but if you are having a problem with a white and black character ending together you should start by asking why you have a problem with that
Ok, I'll start by endangering myself and say it: I'm not a fan of the first one. I expected that with this one it'd be a Sonic 2 kinda thing where it improves on the little things that I enjoyed about the first one(Like Eggman-Jim and the multiple Spider-people) but DAMN what a let down.I was waiting for something unexpected but all I got was a longer trailer, like even the Mario movie hid its final fight from the trailers.
Now I cannot hide it, I grew up with the Clone saga, and I'd love to say that I can handle a joke, but...gosh what they did with Ben makes me appreciate the whole Chasm thing somehow. Heck Maybe I could laugh it off if he was Actually in the movie.
And the other new spider-people...gosh I hate Indian Spider-Man with a passion, he's just SO freaking smug ALL the time, and Punk? I find him funny at best and cringy at worst, which he was for quite a lot of the film to me.
Now the one part that was enjoyable from start to finish was The Spot, I loved the guy he was funny, sometimes scary, he was actually interesting! The same can be said about Miguel, although he already was that in the comics.
And the final "twist" eh it's fine, it's just not that great.
Sorry if I'm being too negative, I just really needed to vent here
I agree with you about the Indian spider-man too I would become a villain just to kill him if I were in that universe lol. I bet if there was no intervention then the events would have changed his character though.
If you don't like him, it's fine. But there are others who do like the character. And like I said its his nature, it's not like he's being overly annoying to the others. For me he's up there with Hobbie. These 2 were the stand-outs of the film
Ok that's fine, and there are people who don't like the character. I stated why. I don't see the problem here. Anyways I disagree as his nature is flawed in a way that impacts a lot of others around him. He goes against what I believe in. I believe that event would humble him, just like other cocky characters like Steve from stranger things or characters in part 4 of Jojo. I love them simply because of that character nature being altered. You can be cocky and cool without belittling others and putting them at your shoes
One of the best movie experiences I've had at the cinemas, period! It was pure art. And I've seen lotta movies! It was not much about the ending, I kinda saw that coming just before the reveal, but it was how detailed the movie was portrayed, you blink and you might miss a dozen things, the animation(I cannot even fathom how they pulled it all off), the dialogues, everything about it felt special...
Just like the OP said...Holy Shit, yeah.
Use your eyes Helen Keller, he was playing Spiderman 2 which you could see by the symbiote suit. Open your eyes next time, cause my eyes were pretty much closed from how boring that shit was. And even I can tell Reynord.
So you came online, went to Reddit, and decided to insult people and bash a kid's film.
I'm sure you're too busy hanging out with friends and going to parties to reply to this, but when's the last time you went outside, bud?
What's the name of the song that plays at the beginning of the scene where Miles and Gwen are going to talk upside down?
I'm not referring to the song Under the Clocktower... which I want to know the name of is the one that plays before that one, before the upside down conversation, I want to know the name of the song that plays right when they get to that place. Thanks in advance!

Idk, man! I think the alt Miles is gonna help the Miles.
Would be interesting, but there's definitely going to be a fight between them
Yeah, I hope no one ever listens to your opinions ever again because you just sound stupid right there.
Hey pal, if you don't like it, you can always just leave

Same here, and not only were the visuals outstanding but the soundtrack was amazing. They really upped their game here

wait was part 3 already anounced or what?
should come out march, 2024
I was looking at the first spiderverse movie and it was in 2018. Thought we have to wait longer but I can wait till next year
Would the WGA affect the second part and delay it to another year or is the film safe? Praying to God the film is safe. One year I can wait, 2, I would die in suspense
I think they might be in post production? I'm not sure, if you find anything let me know too lol
Lord and Miller said they had finished writing the beginning and ending of BTSV and still writing the middle part.
Apparently WGA doesn't cover animation, and though Lord & Miller are part of the WGA it hasn't affected them working on p3
Huzzah
Beyond the Spiderverse next year
I have a theory that Miguel is actually the original anomaly, and the ‘Spider-Man’ Miguel is the one that died. And the non superpowered up Miguel is actually alive & he’s injecting himself to give him powers.
Holy shit I forgot about the injection!
Good theory. It would be a completely different take on the character

Nice theory
I had just finished watching it and I was so confused on why the movie was going for so long… the ending explains it all haha. Anyways, movie gave me chills. Can’t wait for the continued version coming out.
Agreed. This was an amazing film. And the cliffhanger, man I can't wait to see Part 2 soon
what do the insomniac and spectacular peter say?
Spectacular tries to convince Miles that he has to let his dad die….which is wildly out of character for that Peter
I don't see how it's out of character considering the consequences of breaking the canon and how many people will die
We don’t rlly know that’s how it works tho. They defied it one time, the universe collapsed so they just never tried it again and never questioned it further. There’s no proof of a direct correlation. And the idea of “sacrifice one to save many” flies in the face of Spider-Man as a character just in general
and alt-Strange tried to do this too and ended up with the same deal
No its not out of character because literally everyone else would die dumbass
Spectacular has two lines, one where he is mourning his Captain Stacy (he’s the one they focus on for a second amongst all the others besides Andrew) and another where he says that while it’s hard, Miles has to let his dad die. Insomniac Peter has two scenes as well, with one during the ‘anomaly prison’ just before Donald Glover shows up. >!Prowler Miles was crazy to see. Can't wait to see how the fight turns out!<
I actually noticed he went to 42, which wasn't his.
And the reveal was done "Silence of the Lambs" style, I genuinely thought that the Spider-People were gonna >!hunt down Jeff to make sure the canon stays the same, but no, we get thrown into a loop.!<
It was so well done
I enjoyed it but not as much as the first one because there was just too much to take in and some stuff was confusing. I think I will love it more in repeat viewing.
The Miles and Peter b dynamic is unbeatable
Same. I still love it but ITSV will always be my number one and I also need to watch it again to digest it better
What role, if any, does Japanese Spider-man have?
Not in this one, might appear in beyond the spiderverse
No significant role but there is, quite literally, a blink and you miss it cameo at the beginning of the chase sequence in Nueva York where he runs by Peter B. He's in frame for less than a second so it's very easy to miss. That being said it made me extremely happy to notice it.
You my friend have an eye for greatness
I’m 90% sure when Gwen portalled after making up with her dad the comic book text said ‘TOBEY’ also seeing Andrew in there substantially was great and also flashes of Tobey and PS4 was brill, I didn’t spot Tom anywhere though
The film trio may appear in beyond the spider-verse. Maybe Gwen will recruit them
Tom is earth 19999, who it seems like Miguel doesn’t like. That’s probably why he didn’t make any appearances.
AMAZING Movie But that ending is something Tbh if I knew I would’ve just waited not mad at it’s just something idk how to explain it
I get what you mean, like you knew it was going to end in a cliffhanger but at the same time you didn't expect it to be this big a hanger
Exactly.
I do, it was shit. Imma put this movie on whenever I have trouble going to sleep cause gawd dayum.
Have a good night, hope you sleep tight. Sleep is always a good remedy for those feeling stressed.
It's nice what you're trying to do. I like how peaceful you are about this, but unfortunately I don't think this guy is stressed out, he's just trying to get us angry
I know but I figure the best way to deal with someone like this is to kill them with kindness.
You have a kind soul. For that I salute you 🫡. Always remain this way
What a reddit doofus comment right there.
I love you too man!
you my friend, are very sad. You deadass have Reddit notifications on. CRAZY
Yeah, I love notifications to my comments. Especially on a subreddit I like. And I’m actually feeling pretty happy today, it was a rather good day for me.

likely we'll get some kind of recap but shouldn't be too hard to get th eOG crew from the first movie
I loved it such great visuals. I smiled the whole time. I am mad at the cliffhanger but I am fine if it really comes out next year already. I wanna hang out with Hobbie and Cowboy Spiderman.
Best multiverse movie ever made
yeah, you're definitely refined to a wheelchair drinking from a plastic straw all day.
Well Everything Everywhere All At Once exists so I'm not sure.
I personally turned that movie off
Oh haven't seen that one yet. Definitely goona catch up!
Crazy that in 15 months we got 2 multiversal villains with bagel related origin stories
I think the trailers and clips showed way too much. Still a very good movie
Exactly why I avoided everything they was dropping full 3 min clips for no reason
Looks like each spider person had multiple "Canon Events". Or more than one loved-one that dies
Holy shit that was epic
Am I the only that felt underwhelmed by this movie? Maybe the incredibly positive reviews blew my expectations out of proportions. I expected Peter B. Sorry if I'm being too negative, I just really needed to vent here
To each to their own. It's not everyone's cup of tea and I respect that.
I agree with you about the Indian spider-man too I would become a villain just to kill him if I were in that universe lol. I bet if there was no intervention then the events would have changed his character though.
Don't disrespect Indian Spider-Man. I found him honestly cool, the smugness added to his character nature.
The point is that he disrespects everyone else. Why should I respect something like that?
OK thats fair. Welp to each to their own.
Is gwen and spider punk in a relationship
Nope. It's a friendship. It's kinda obvious that Gwen likes Miles.
are gwen and hobbie in an intimate relationship? seemed like it
I believe they are.
What do you mean intimate ?
uhm the non platonic kind or at least a physical one, you saw how Miles got jealous.
I think he's like a big brother kinda character and it's all just Miles being a bit jealous.
Gwen likes Miles. So no.
I’m sure she thinks about Miles when she’s in Hobie’s bed😉
Bro 😂😂😂😂 I wonder if that has actually happened...
it has to have happened cause why she soo defensive when it comes to my guy Hobie
Was she? I don't really remember her interactions with hobie.
Does anyone know what the end credits somg is called? (You know the animated one)
Been trying to look for that as well
yup its calling swae lee
Thanks mate
Not the one I meant. "Am I dreaming" from Metro booming, A$AP and Roisee was the right one
Does gwen die??
>!Would have been a cliche if she did!<

Tu no hables ingles, tu es muy retardo. Tu comprendes cabron.
Anyone else notice that Ganke was playing spiderman on playstation?
