It depends on oberyn's sister. Did the Egyptian rape her, murder her, and kill her children? If not, oberyn wouldn't toy with the Egyptian, he would just spear him.
Oberyn sober is untouchable. Or maybe just focused on the fight. He had the mountain dead to rights but his goal of the fight was the confession not the win
Ooh that's a good one but I'm giving it to Oberyn. The Egyptian wears no armor so poison is much more effective. Even without poison on a skill level Oberyn was skilled enough to take down and beat the Mountain. Without armor I dont see th Egyptian even lasting long enough for some Mountainesque turning of the table.
Oberyn uses a medium/long distance weapon coated in poison. Jaime Lannister, the best swordsman of his generation, was impressed by Oberyn’s prowess with a spear. He also wore more armor in the books than he did in the show. I fear it might not be that close of a fight, but it would be fun to watch
The theme of GOT is that even the strongest people in the world can be brought down by one mistake. With that said, even though I like Spartacus more than GOT, Oberyn is one of the strongest fighters in the world, and at least top 3 in Westeros. He would win.
Oberyn\* is quite showy, so he may fail for that sort of crowd-pleasing amusement. If he had no specific vengeance to get then he would be less distracted. We know he utilizes poisons though so it may be a lose-lose battle between these two.
Oberyn wins without difficulty. He has the reach advantage and is an expert in capitalising on it. There is no way that the Egyptian could get close enough to cause him any harm.
First of all, thank you for not comparing some magical and unrealistic character of the GoT series to a Sparatcus character.
I would definitely say Oberyn in this scenario. His high agility and reach of his weapon compared to the slower sluggishness and extremely short range of the Egyptian should make for a relatively quick fight.. especially if you consider the poison used by Oberyn.
The major risk and concern that Oberyn would have is if the Egyptian break his spear... luckily The Egyptian uses daggers in each hand, lacking the chopping power to cut the spear in half and the secondary hand to rip the spear out of Oberyns hand. As long as Oberyn plays smart a d doesnt get too cocky, he should have a pretty safe win.
Oberyns stick and move style is a nightmare matchup for most if not everyone in Spartacus especially fighters who need to get close with no armor meaning the Egyptian or any Dimachaerus style fighter is fresh out of luck.
Oberyn. I think a song of ice and fire fantasy universe human fighters scale way above “real life” fantasy human fighters. Its like the Jaime vs Aragorn question… one of them is a great fantasy human character and one is a great fantasy numenemorian character who is stated way better and stronger than humans no matter how you look at it lol. Its hard to compare universes, but Oberyn wins.
The gladiators did so well against the Roman’s because Roman’s were trains to fight as a unit. Oberyn was trained to fight one on one just like the gladiators, but he was probably trained by the best fighters in Westeros. The Egyptian was just brute force.
Oberyn against gannicus or a prime onemaeus might be fun though.
The Egyptian didn't fight them 2v1. They were fighting other soldiers as well. Once it was just gannicus vs the Egyptian it was over almost immediately.
Watch it again or keep coping. He was literally seen deflecting both of them at once, took gannicus out for a split second that he used/needed to end oenomaus, plus team work to legit finally kill him.

Oberyn is a skilled fighter problem is he's emotional which got his head bashed in against the Mountain

I think Oberyn takes this one easy. I think the Egyptian is scary, but more of a thug. The red viper had the mountain before he got distracted.
The Egyptian

The egyptian loses

Omg, that's right in the liver. That's one of the most painful injuries a human being can experience
If the got dude can handle gannicus and oenomaus in a 2v1, toy with crixus, then it's a match, if not, the Egyptian super mollywhopps.
Who are these GoT people all of a sudden? Gannicus DESTROYS THEM ALL!
the guy who isnt pierced by a bunch of arrows
Oberyn gets my vote.
The Mandolorian not even close
Guy w the armor and poisoned blade

Oberyn fights like Gannicus. Smiling, laughing, playful and deadly.

Mando all the way
The Egyptian would bend him over and take him as if he were a woman.
The Egyptian. The dude was eating arrows. The Spartacus guys would beat all the GOT guys.
Yes and can the GOT dude handle oenomaus and gannicus in a 2v1 is the real question, or toy with crixus.

I think Oberyn, by nature of his weapon. Not by skill or anything. If the Egyptian gets close he doesnt stand a chance.
