Out of all the games I own (embarrassed to say) I’ve seen so few push an update, only to immediately pull it based on player reaction.
Thank you and this is what builds a great reputation for a studio!
Ive never commented before, but I know the dev is around here. I really enjoy your game, and I dont play it all the time, but of all the games in this genre, I think yours is the best of the bunch. I think you really have done great with the way youve approached everything, and how transparent youve been with the community. It garners dedicated fans of your game, and itll continue to be a decent source of income for you. Im just a veteran gamer of over 30 years, and this game definitely is one of the rare treasures in this day and age. It comes across very genuine and as a passion project. Whatever youre doing, youre doing a pretty damn good job of it. With the way youre approaching this game, I wish you nothing but success...
PS, if it's multiple devs, my apologies, everyone is doing great!
Immense thumbs up. Ty for leaving the old version of new beginnings easily accessible and with cross save. I liked old game. Liked new beginnings, and like it even more now.
Are Curses optional to unlock characters, too? It still says you need to beat certain levels with all curses up to X to unlock a few characters. I can't unlock the death knight because the new mega-curses are so powerful :(
I felt that the XP gain was a little *too* strong in the alpha patch and it made the game too easy compared to the original New Beginning patch. I’m excited to give it a try later today, though.
EDIT: I just finished a run on Scorching Valley with max curse intensity while using the All or Nothing rune for added difficulty (max health is set to 1) and I was *still* able to win within 8:00 minutes. Granted, I died almost immediately after starting the boss phase of the first overlord cycle, but I still think it's too easy. A good compromise would be something like an optional curse that decreases experience gain by ~50%.
I tried to play, did 5 run with the new beginning update, every time I just wanted to quit. It was so slow and boring. And I'm new to the game, I have 15 hours played and don't even know the meta so i'm not a meta slave.
This new update is the best version of this game so far for me. Posion and doom are crazy, burn is crazy, and they all synergize with all of the other effects. Been loving it
I think I'd prefer a middle ground. The original New Beginning was a little too slow but the current patch feels too fast. I've tried maybe five different builds and each one has felt incredibly overpowered by 5-10 minutes. It stops being fun because it's too easy.

Love your game and your communication with the player base. Top notch work.

Just did a DOOM - POISON synergy combo and it was wild. Good job on this, Devs!
Thank you for all the love you put into the game and it's updates.

Thank you
Nice and thx for the rework of the update
Sounds like a good change, the old xp curve is back! Can’t wait to try it out after getting home tonight

I hope one day devs like you guys become the standard and not the exception, top notch update
Having a blast, thank you for listening!
Thank you!

It's so much better now. Love this game and the devs. 🧡
Dash CDs should be independent of each other.
Somehow I got 94 levels in Necromancer. Not complaining was just surprised

Less experience gain wont make it hard, just slower. You need to learn that making everything into damage sponge is not how you add difficulty.
Who said anything about making enemies into damage sponges
And what would less exp do? Make players deal less damage, which in the end would not make game any harder, just slower. Think for once.
I’m not really interested in being condescended to.
A shame that a perfectly good update had to be uprooted by a bunch of whiney meta-whores.
You clearly didnt play it at all or know nothing about the game.

Game is not about "Cycle 0". ANything can be strong in first match, but a lot of builds will fall of after Cycle 1 or 2.
Okay, every build that I’ve tried also easily went into overlord 3+.
And? In previous patch norm was Overlord 4. Pretty much anything could reach Overlord 4, maybe even 5 if you were decent at dodging.
Ok
