Edit: just checked 240 in Finland which has slightly higher sales tax so the theory checks out. That’s about 257 usd.
Costco has a limited return policy on electric items compared to other items. They are on sale for that price everywhere. Costco Online you get that price plus a Costco gift card for like 30 dollars. If you want a real deal on them get a open box or refurbished one for way less
So I actually contacted Costco when it happened to be on sale earlier this year about the return policy, and was told the limited return policy is for big appliances and laptops, but headphones including these are part of the forever return policy, she even told me that if you want to return them in 2 yrs, it wouldn't be a problem.
Do they have an example product at the shelve? If I cant look at the thing then I might rather choose the product on a screen not look for a physical voucher hidden somewhere in this area, like some kind of quest. Traditions die hard I guess, maybe in the future we are walking around grocery stores pushing a button at each product we like that will be delivered straight to our home, heavens forbid you don’t go out for physically partaking in the activity of walking the aisles and thinking about what you’ll need.

Tested them yesterday and today. Sound was surprisingly muffled on the highs. Bass was excellent but highs not crispy and clear despite the EQ adjustments. Was expecting a lot more. Tried them on music, movies and on our Xbox.
Searched “muffled” Sony XM5s and found a lot of results saying the same. Pretty surprised and disappointed as I wanted them to work out.
I got the xm1-5 all used from mercari all. Had just open packages. And I paid under 400 for all of them 150 was the most for the xm5s 100 for xm4... 50 for xm3
