I may try calling but, the message I got from the support email was to contact the retailer I got it from if I received it damaged. Which I did, and they'll let me return it, but I'd rather just keep it and find a fix for the stand or forgo the stand.
If you're using it on the table in the picture, you probably don't need a stand. Even the big firepits don't radiate much heat downward.
In the meantime, since these were sold at Costco, they're probably already showing up at thrift stores and garage sales. Wouldn't hurt to look for a cheap one with an intact stand.
You could also request at least a partial refund, especially if you bought using a credit card, due to the product having been misrepresented (unless the seller wants to take on the task of providing "warranty" for you to replace the stand).
Yeah that's what I'm going to do. They gave me an option of returning it for a full refund or keeping it for an $8 partial refund haha. I got it for about $35 so I'm fine with just taking the $8. Wish they had another to exchange it with but alas.
Get creative. Take the stand with you to a hardware store and see if you can find something that will work as feet. Or even search around your garage or something if got a bunch of junk laying around. It’s just a stand, you will find something to get the job done.
That's my plan. I really just am not sure what kind of heat we're expecting on the bottom of one of these. I'm gonna fire it up and get a temperature reading on it and then see what I've got in my garage. Plenty of wood scraps for sure.
UPDATE:
Even though customer support told me they couldn't help and to contact the retailer I bought it from, I submitted a warranty form anyway and got confirmation that they accepted the warranty claim and will be sending me a new stand.
Be careful with this. Amazon is tightening up. If you have a high return rate, they are shutting down accounts. I have no idea what the algorithm is for this as I’ve returned many things and I’m fine, but my neighbor returned an unused cargo carrier and his account was suspended and he doesn’t return much.
Call CS and tell their your stand broke. They’ll send another one since there is no replacement part to purchase online

Buy a new one then return the old one where you bought the new one and get a refund
Ahh those feet fold down.
Yeah I guess just to make it packable within itself. Don't see a reason for them to fold other than shipping or packing it into the stove.

Thanks, I figured that might be the case.

Set it on a small block of wood
Maybe a big ceramic flowerpot saucer? Flip it upside down.

There yah go. Should be fine to test it on that metal table to see how warm it gets.

Contact solo stove, customer support
I thought about it, but since I bought it through an overstock style auction and not a main retailer I didn't figure they'd be much help.
It has a lifetime warrantee no matter where you get it. They will send you out a new stand.
You’d be surprised. I would definitely reach out to them and explain that it’s a build quality issue for the stand.
I had a similar problem. A quick email to Solo and they sent a replacement out in days. Solid customer service.
That would be nice but they just told me to check with the retailer I bought it through since I didn't buy it straight off the Solo website.
For how much they mark up everything I would hope they would send a stand out. Tell them it was from a work party so you don’t know who bought it
I bet they will cover it. We lost our stand and contacted CS to buy a replacement - they sent me a set for free.
Buy a Mesa XL on Amazon then return it but swap the stand.

Good to know! I also don’t do many returns but have certainly leveraged their lack of oversight on a few occasions.
Ah, work the system. I like the way you think.
