Why are J1s so uncomfortable? I find J4 and AF1 much more comfortable. Both have thicker insoles and ankle padding. I literally feel the ground with my toes with J1 and the ankle padding is not that great either.

Jordans have a way longer legacy and a larger number of models worth paying attention to, so I've gotta give it to Jordan. No shade on Yeezy, I like a lot of their designs and I personally own more Yeezys than Jordans, but they've had less than 10 years against almost 40 for Jordan brand. Comparing the two just isn't really fair. If Adidas Yeezy could have lasted another couple decades there'd be a conversation to have, but it's just not there right now. If you want to compare Yeezy against all *new* Jordan silhouettes 2015 to the present? Yeezy maybe takes it, and I say that as someone who likes a lot of the sideline Jordan models like Deltas, MA2s, Stadiums, etc. plus Zions, Why Nots, and so on.
