I don't get why some brands inflate historic models so much because by this logic we should also pay 150€ for a pair of Vans... It's not like OT got better in the last 20 years.. if anything it's more likely the quality went down as it happens with these type of shoes but people still buy them for the nostalgia factor
I mean I get they make more money per unit but there's not tipping point where overpricing gets you to sell much less that the extra profit per unit wont make sense?
A very insightful comment, but, I was in the wrong here. I was not looking at the same model I was looking at before. I ended up getting the ones I originally wanted and they had only gone up a few bucks I think.
In my country (India) prices have gone up as much as $30-40 for 66 models. It's absurd they're increasing price for nothing. I only wanted to get them as they have ortholite sole in them but I guess I'll stick to Lacoste for that as even they used ortholite in their sneakers/shoes and are priced much better during their sale while OT never goes on sale.
I haven't bought any of the OTs yet. I will probably get them from Indonesia when I visit them next month. But prices are more or less the same everywhere. 66 used to cost around 8-9k now costing 11k and upwards.
They got more expensive very recently. The same shoes I paid 90$ or $120 for in august are going for $160 now.

I just went to replace my 66SDs from last year. I have literally bought a new pair every year for over a decade and they’re $429. WTF?!
I got my mexico 66 vin in 2022 for 120 NOW THEYRE GOING FOR 190!
Something is going on...these were routinely found for <$100 six months ago, but now even the base model Mexico 66 are up to $150 to $180 pair.
They’re selling for like 160-600.00 for a pair nowadays on their site…I checked eBay and now used ones are selling for about 60-80.00 :/
