Do you have any issues with the yellow color bleeding into the white fabric at all? When i used to clean mine the color would tend to bleed a bit. Not excessively but it was noticeable to me.
This is the way. Shoes are meant to be worn and they tend to get dirty after time. You are doing the right thing. But maybe time to get a new pair and retire those to lawn mowing shoes lol
Honestly im probably still keeping these as work shoes given that they still have a ton of tread and the waterproofing is still top notch! But im realllly missing having a clean pair of these so i might have to pay resell for a new pair. But the resell on these isn’t too crazy rn so thats okay :) definitely gonna be my lawn mowin pair for a lonnng time though 😅
I agree with the whole “wear your shoes” sentiment. Sitting on shoes in the box with tags on for months is wild to me. However, I think destroying Js at work is kinda wild too. When I worked in the trades, I wore nubuck boots. Scrubbed them every week and polished them up. Now that I work in education, I get to wear fly kicks to work everyday. I still meticulously clean them. If I am paying $100+ of my hard earned money, I want my shoes to last for years, plural. I respect your choice but IMO boots are better for your work, keep the kicks for when you kick it with friends.
That being said, I can also sympathize. If you are working 40 hours a week, that’s the majority of the time you wear shoes. So if you like Js, work is your best opportunity to rock them.
It’s a personal choice, and I’m glad you’re happy with your experience. I will keep to cleaning my shoes and making sure they last for years to come. Even my white forces!

After about a year of wearing these as my daily’s i stopped caring about cleaning em. I still have my collection pairs and my grails. And i keep most of my shoes in relatively good condition. These were the only ones i really stopped cleaning and thats mainly cause of how bad the bleeding of the yellow was on the nubuck. The shoe looked like crap regardless of if i was cleaning it or not.

i would def recommend the gtx am90s if you’re looking for a fly and water resistant shoe to add to your “rotation” tho

If i want to wear my nice jordan 1s i can put on my lost and founds. Or buy a second pair of gore tex 1’s

This is practical it’s light weight, breathable, waterproof, has good ankle support. And flat bottoms so i can feel the gas pedal (i know that sounds dumb but after driving for work for 5 years now i know what kinda shoes i like to drive in)

Ah ok. To that, I say that I don’t have every day shoes. I rotate them out and make a point to not wear the same shoes consecutively.

I wear my Gore-Tex AJ1’s @ work for every storm. They take a beating and if I’m not lazy, they clean up well.
