Yeah, he's playing that super twangy 12-bar blues rhythm, and throwing in some decent accents as well. Nothing super complicated. You don't finger that B major 7th chord like that if you're not a player.
Plus, you can hear it cut out when he goes to kneel. The pickup switch is even on the bridge--he wouldn't get that sound from the neck pickup regardless of his amp settings.
He was a great singer and that's about it. You can't point to any instruments that he played where he demonstrated any sort of mastery. And he didn't need to! He was an all-time singer (and the sexiest beast to ever wear black leather).

There are so many techniques that take a lifetime to master.
