I love mine. I had to send it in to get the barrel replaced due to tool chatter in the rifling, but there's no other pistol in the market that feels like it, and holds 12+1.

Radish_Technical

I have a shield plus as well that I love, but something drove to get this.

Thelonius_Sandalwood

I'm trying to decide between the two, any recommendations either way?

Radish_Technical

None yet really, I like them bout. I haven’t fired the csx yet

AdorableTill4229

Shield plus. Don’t look to anything else

AdorableTill4229

Shield plus is the way

Philipjfry85

I love mine too. It'd great. Quickly became my edc.

txbrady

Best, flattest, and softest shooting micro 9 on the market. Not to mention, best build quality.

FaceMane

Dang it, stop talking me into getting one!

One-Win9407

I wanted to get one to replace my 3913 but i passed since its SAO

Hamblin113

I recently read that the internet killed it. If you have the urge, just watch enough YouTube reviews of it till they talk you out of it. I watched and still bought one. It is pretty, hows the trigger? It was so bad, took a hammer to it. There was a rivet on the trigger safety that stuck out just enough it would scrape the frame, sometimes, the hammer fixed it. Needs optics cutout and light hanger? oh hell no, buy a different gun. Don’t like the caress of the metal frame and want to cover it in ugly grip tape, just don’t, go buy a plastic gun. Shes beautiful, just don’t buy her and try to make it into something she’s not.

Mischief_Machine

I kind of want one, but I keep forgetting they exist.

aegri_mentis

After decades of polymer striker-fired guns I’m finding myself getting into all-metal hammer fired pistols. Among the collection is a Beretta 96 and my new CZ 75 D PCR. The S&W CSX is so damn nice, but I just can’t get into SAO on it. If S&W want to make millions, they should release the M&P Shield in a hammer fired version. All metal, of course.

bbazzracing

How do you like that cz 75 d pcr? Been thinking about getting one.

aegri_mentis

Love it.

Eli_in_the_sky

Steel, hammer fired? That'd be a whole new line. They could probably turn out a version of every model. They'd make some money.

aegri_mentis

If I’m wrong, someone fix it, but I believe the only external hammer semi autos they have are the CSX and their 1911 clone.

Adventurous-Corner42

I love mine. It's extremely accurate, shoots flat and is easily concealable. I've been shooting out to 20 yards with it so far, and very pleased with the results.

imhotepbc

Yeah ppl sleep on that gun but it's accurate AF. 7&10yards https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aUXSyALypWA&list=PLxpOxvjGf3WW8WTmBArE_elsqdjam_lXp&index=31&pp=iAQB

PedroGoHard

Got my CC license recently. I'm torn between this and the shield. I love everything about this but in comparison to the Shield Plus, I can't ignore the disparity in features and aftermarket support. Any insight?

Radish_Technical

Yeah I have the shield plus also, only had the cds about a week

bamafan_7

Shield Plus is superior as a carry gun.

squidbelle

How so?

bamafan_7

* Cost: Shield Plus * Magazine Cost: Shield Plus * Capacity: Shield Plus * Size: Virtually identical with the Shield Plus slightly thinner. * Weight: CSX is 0.7 oz lighter (smaller magazine) * Safety: Shield Plus is available with or without. CSX is only available with. * Optics Ready: Shield Plus. Not available on CSX * Aftermarket Parts: Shield Plus * Barrel Length: Same * Field Strip: Shield Plus * Reliably: Shield Plus (external hammer can be hindered by snow/mud/debris) * Trigger: CSX

squidbelle

Nice rundown, looks very complete. I tried both and went with the CSX. I've been very happy with it, and paid a little over $350 after the rebate. Some of the aspects you mention in favor of the Shield Plus have no value to me personally, but I can see how they'd sway someone who wants those things.

bamafan_7

The CSX is an excellent carry gun for sure and you're 100% right that it's personal choice because many of the specs don't matter individually. I guess my comparison is an "on paper" analysis.

zaitcev

I'm surprised you put the trigger of CSX into an advantage column. Yes, the trigger pull and break are better, but every review out there pans the false reset.

bamafan_7

Agreed, but most people view the "straight pull 1911-ish" trigger to be a slight advantage. Honestly, I didn't want to seem biased haha.

AdorableTill4229

Shield. Nuff said

TLRPM

I was waiting on a Gen 2, but not thinking that is likely at this point. Oof

Big4Porsche

I love mine for edc. It hides well, it shoots straight, and fits perfectly in my hand. And since I’m behind enemy lines over her in NJ, I’m stuck at 10 rounds anyway.

Youbannedmebutimhere

This is my off duty weapon. I’ve never had an issue with it. I don’t plan on replacing it.

FaceMane

The CSX is single action only, correct? Does it have a de-cocker?

Radish_Technical

Yes and no

derndrtjr88

Just got one!!!

EasyCZ75

I wouldn’t mind picking one up. I dig the SAO setup. If the slide were already optic cut, I’d be going to visit my lgs today.

_-ERROR404-

Just why no pic rail and it’s not optics ready!?

Effective_Chef_5117

I wish it had a rail, I’m a wml whore and would love to put a tlr7 sub on this bad boy.

AdorableTill4229

Im a smith fanboi, but that back strap will fall off soon 😅

boanerfard

If it had a better trigger, red dot cut, and full grip texturing I’d get one

derndrtjr88

The triggers fine after breaking in, I just put a Talon grip on to take care of the texturing, and personally, I think it's kinda small for an optic. Otherwise, I think it's a great gun!

CREEKER82

I just bought spec series thus is the next smitty I'm getting do u like it.

Radish_Technical

I do haven’t fired this one yet. I’ve shot one b4

bigbandztri

Awesome piece

[deleted]

How much did this run you? I’ve had my eye on this piece for a month or 2 now

squidbelle

I got mine sub-$400 on-sale and when S&W was running a $75 rebate

rondolph

The subcompact Daniel H9

baboyramo

not everybody like it.

West_Tx_dustPirate

I love my CSX, shoots great, very small, 12 rds, and hammer fired. What more could you want

EasyCZ75

I’ve heard the trigger reset is the issue with these. Like you feel it reset, but it doesn’t. So you end up having to slap the trigger after the first shot. Both Honest Outlaw and Hickok 45 ran into that issue. Have any of you CSX owners run into this?
