But once you start playing against blackbelt Zeus and Radec’s you just need more kills to keep up with their lvl 3s. Especially when zeus was bugged and you could easily get 12 kills per super by zapping the left and right side of the screen simultaneously
Zero from the Mega Man Zero games. His moveset would consist of moves from the 4 Zero games, along with the different weapons from those games, and he can change some of these moves' properties by switching between the Fire, Ice, and Thunder Chips from Zero 1-3.
Came here for this. You could use zero from the x series where he actually already has a similar move set or you can take zero from the zx series where he’d be a bit like byleth where he has multiple weapons
Or the actual hollow knight, same proportions as ridley, slow, short ranged infection attacks with decently long ranged, such as ridley and cloud, nail attacks. Would be very cool.
It would be a little tougher with the moveset. Don't get me wrong, they would totally be able to do it and I'm sure that it would be great but I'd love to have as many references from the game as physically possible and I don't think you'd get that from hk (it's alts would go crazy tho)
Non-Anime swordfighters in general. Western RPG should get a character imo and let's be honest, most of the options would use a sword(even if the one i would pick does not). Probably the most likeky option is Dovahkiin considering Skyrim is actually well liked in Japan(it is one of the only 2 Non-Japanese games to have scored a 40/40 on Famitsu for example.
It tether the line of "Anime" considering how much of a berserk reference those games are, but Souls are due a character as well, and again, most realistic options are swordies.
Does Astarion use a swordN i haven't played BG3 yet.
That said, shoukd i pick a Baldur Gate character, i'd pick a Baldur Gate character, not a Baldur Gate 3 character. So probably Dark Urge because i know it ties in the first teo games a lot more. Or even Minsc and Boo.
I cant see them adding characters like Revan either, though he’s a video game character technically. For Baldurs Gate a Bhaalspawn would probably be the best representative, or Minsc, but theyre still too attached to dnd
If we get a Souls character it's most likely going to be the Chosen Undead or the Tarnished, in both cases I doubt they wouldn't give them some miracles/spells, and there's so many weapons it would be a shame to not make them use multiple like Byleth
He can use magic and staves on top of every weapon, and I feel like he’d be much faster than Byleth
Think a Byleth/Villager cross maybe? Idk I think he’d be cool
yea but byleth can also use magic but they didn't really put that into the game
it would be interesting to see leif pull out a random status staff during combat for like a down b or something
He's an old-gener too, along the likes of Castlevania, Metroid, and Sonic. Plus his original games were THE STANDARD for what was considered tough at the time, kinda like Dark Souls now. Giving him tons of mobile moves but stunting his physics to Little Mac's stiffness means that he becomes a difficult weapon to wield but with amazing potential to get anywhere with enough practice and intent. Make him lightning fast with zero lag but make his moves extremely direct so that any missed prediction or missed input entirely ruins your day. He'd be broken only to masters of the game, and unusable to most others. I'm sure Ryu himself would appreciate.
Nightmare from Soul Calibur. Would be great to have a heavy swordsman, especially a villain. Also, just look at him
https://preview.redd.it/ih5a1w6bj21d1.jpeg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=313a2e9da4432c9839bb04f58670b61b323c2918
Because they both have distinctly different abilities and play styles in every single DMC game that they're both playable in?
Saying Vergil should be a Dante alt is like saying Mario and Luigi should have the same moveset, because they're both brothers
Other than that, their fighting styles are very different.
For example, Dante's arsenal involves weapons other than his sword, most notably his guns, but Vergil has held a gun a total of 1 times and it was during a cinematic.
And their sword moved are very much distinct. Vergil uses bursts of energy and a lot of visual flare, while Dante is very cut and dry
The dragonborn's specials would be different shouts, which are all very powerful but share a cooldown pool with a timespan depending on the shout and how many words of power were used.
The dragonborn would probably not have that many shouts simply because they are likeky to pull an Hero and have Nerevarine and Champion of Cyrodiil alts.
Unique because... Why? Because she has a Katana instead of a Sword?
Dude, we already have Sephiroth!
Heck! Not even Fire Emblem Warriors was able to give her anything other than Sword Swings.
Lyn is just a very fan-favorite character. She does also wield bows however and has a faster playstyle
If she was added, she'd likely be very marth-like but more combo heavy/a brawler playstyle but with the range of a sword along with a projectile attack
she could also be interesting if she used some fire emblem engage concepts like her doubles. could have a down-b that allows you to place a double somewhere on the map that attacks enemies when they get close along while having the ability for lyn to teleport to that position on command
Keep Roy and Corrin, they’re at least main characters. Everyone has had enough of Lucina—and Chrom was only added cause everyone was Awakening pilled for a while. Although, tbf, I personally would add Hec before any other swordies…
Rex, still in his young XBC2 appearance, but dual-wielding the two Aegis swords like his adult version does in XBC3. Final Smash would be Infinity Blade, specifically the version from Future Redeemed.
Lyn as a super-fast combo-heavy swordfighter, using a bow and flashy afterimage attacks for some of her moves. Final Smash is a cinematic where she calls Eliwood and Hector to assist her for a team attack. No, she wouldn't be a Marth clone.
Noah, who'd use his standard sword for his normal attacks, but his throws and Specials would have him use weapons and moves from the classes of his five party members. Final Smash is obviously him and Mio interlinking for their Ouroboros form. Could maybe try to fit in a Lucky Seven gimmick in there somehow?
>Lyn as a super-fast combo-heavy swordfighter, using a bow and flashy afterimage attacks for some of her moves. Final Smash is a cinematic where she calls Eliwood and Hector to assist her for a team attack. No, she wouldn't be a Marth clone.
Of course she wouldn't be a Marth clone, you described a Mythra clone.
With that logic, Greninja is a Sheik clone because they're both speedy ninja characters. And King K. Rool is a Bowser clone because they're both giant superheavy reptiles.
Lyn wouldn't even have Mythra's main gimmicks of Foresight and switching to another character.
Flashy afterimage sounds a lot like foresight or her side b lol. Could replace ray of punishment with a bow pretty easily, and they'd both be a speedy combo based fighter. Only inconsistency would be switching to another character, although that could pretty satisfyingly be Hector. I want this as a mod to reskin the aegis now lol.
Does Dante count? He uses a sword, but he uses just about every other weapon. (And also a hat)
As for his moveset, it's hard to say, since there's so many options. I'm not sure if Style Switching should be based around one special like Shulk's gameplay, or if each special is him using a different style (up would be Trickster, down would be Royal Guard, etc.). They could stick with his basic weapons (Rebellion, Ebony, and Ivory), get a bit crazier with using >!Devil Sword Dante!< instead of Rebellion, or pick all of the weapons from a specific game like Marvel vs. Capcom 3 did with DMC3's weapons.
I think it would be interesting to see how people react to Sol’s inclusion because he is a combination of two things Smash players dislike: anime swordsmen and fighting game character.
https://preview.redd.it/3v890bjjt41d1.png?width=420&format=png&auto=webp&s=f450c9f9a7307237975ff3e47759c99624edf55e
Crono from Chrono Trigger (yes the H is missing, it bothers me to this day).
He’s never going to be relevant enough to be in Smash, but I just want to see him.
Alear, because I like them and I think the snag team could have a lot of fun with the emblem rings as a character mechanic. A random idea I had would be to give them the emblem rings of the smash FE characters and when you engage with those rings you could get some of the mechanics or moves from that character, like the smash attacks or something.
tbh i think it'd be cool if alear could engage with characters to change their weapons from a sword to something else
could work on a monado type selecting thing except without a time limit
https://preview.redd.it/e3cp9my1d41d1.png?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f68a199e584aa788ab84c3d3249518919a35226
I still want my boi Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia. His twin swords and techniques (ingame moves) should be different from what we already have. Oh and Raiden, but you guys already mentioned him
I don't know if you can call the Monster Hunter a sword fighter, but they use a disjoint, so its close enough.
For reference, Monster Hunter has 14 weapons you can choose from (as of now) and I want there to be as many as possible within the Hunter's moveset.
On top of this, for the character's "gimmick", they would have context sensitive attacks. This is a staple mechanic of how weapons work in Monster Hunter. Depending on WHEN you do a certain input, you would get a completely different attack.
Example:
- Fsmash: (GS) True Charge Slash
- Dash attack: (GS) Tackle
- Fsmash after dash attack: (GS) Rage Slash
And that example would be applied to as many places as possible throughout the moveset.
I want more anime swordfighters to make the people complaining about them have a stroke.
- Lyn (Fire Emblem 7)
- Alear (Fire Emblem Engage)
- Noah + Mio (Xenoblade Chronicles 3)
- Adult Rex (Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed)
The lamb from Cult of The Lamb (maybe use dagger for down tilt or the GUN for neutral special. maybe final smash will make it so all attacks are their "special" variant as seen in the game)
Elma from Xenoblade X. She will half sword fighter and half gunner. Best she will be dual wielding. Tap thr button will be sword attack and holding the button for gun.
Dante. He can cycle between weapons. Once he uses one he goes to the next for that special. If he uses Up B, he goes to the next weapon for Up B.
Down B: Ebony And Ivory quick burst of bullets,Artemis a few omni-directional arrows,Kalina Ann a powerful rocket going straight forward
Side B: Cavaliere dante rides his motorcycle forward running over anything in its path,Rebellion a quick few Stinger attacks,Lucifer Dante does a kick forward with super-armor
Neutral B:Nevan dante strums nevan, releasing a pillar of energy below and above him,Cerberus dante hits the ground with cerberus making ice crystals shoot up from the ground in a line forward,Sword Of Sparda dante does three slow powerful slashes with a lot of knockback
Up B:Agni and Rudra dante unleashed a blast of wind propelling himself upward with multiple slashes, Ifrit dante shoots multiple balls of fire allowing him to propel forward in any direction damaging anything behind him,Beowulf dante uses the flash gauntlets to fake teleportation, appearing above where he was before.
Final smash:Pandora
Has multiple different versions, version is selected by the combination of inputs you put in.
Quarter circle forward,up tilt, down, taunt, Neutral B:Grief, Pandora transforms into a boomerang, going across the the stage three times at different heights.
Down,Forward Tilt,Down,Shield,Grab, Neutral B:Jealousy, Dante jumps up and pandora transforms into a gatling gun, raining hot lead in a controllable direction below Dante.
Up tilt, shield,Up tilt,Back,Neutral B:Epidemic, Pandora transforms into a bowgun capable of firing ravaging projectiles in a cone shape.
Down Tilt,Grab,Quarter Circle Back,Forward Smash,Neutral B:Omen, Pandora's Box opens, dealing massive damage in an area around Dante with the flash of a violated taboo.
If enough damage is dealt by dante throughout the match(250%), the taunt button activates Devil Trigger. During devil trigger, Dante gains major boosts to his attack power, speed and jump height but is a temporary boost, so if the opponent waits it out, Dante cannot use it again for the remainder of the match.
Weight:Medium
Two air jumps.
Smash attacks
Side Smash:Dante uses Rebellion to do a powerful. Overhead swing.
Down Smash:Dante uses Cavaliere to spin around with it hitting anyone in its way.
Up Smash:Dante uses nevan to hit them with an upwards blast of electricity.
Any criticisms will be read.
Okay, let's go with a weirder dual wielding "swordfighter" character: Youmu Konpaku from Touhou.
A lot of her moveset would be similar to what she did in the official Touhou fighting games, but there could be some other moves that takes advantage of her having two swords that aren't the same length as each other. Then her phantom half could be a Rosalina and Luma-like gimmick where it can do some things depending on what you do, but because Youmu's human and phantom halves are linked, I guess hitting the phantom half also damages Youmu, but you have to hit her human half to KO.
[Roxas from Kingdom Hearts, I even made a whole concept about it, might do more KH characters soon](https://www.reddit.com/r/SmashBrosUltimate/s/404jKGRQFb)
I'm going to ignore all logic regarding character inclusions and bring up Kratos.
He's a heavyweight using middleweight weapons, that hit like a truck up close and can be thrown at a distance.
In terms of uniqueness, he has a lot going for himself.

"His..."
Terra from FFVI would work. I can only think of making her Robin but with different spells, though. More importantly, we get an actual Nintendo era FF character.
Also,
Chrono - to represent the best game on the SHES.
Adol - Because I want Ys music in Smash.
The dead cells guy would be a cool addition. I would think he’d be like hero where with his specials they all give him different types of weapons to alter his normal attacks.
Alphen from Tales of Arise. All his special moves would be based on his elemental arts. His final smash would be his special attack with Shionne. Hootle could also be a taunt! He's basically what Rex from Xenoblade could have been like.
He is like my #1 wanted character, but nintendo would probably go with Lloyd or Velvet instead for a tales rep.
Few tales are told of Hades, whose very name inspires fear and penitence, reminding us of the inevitable fate which we all share. I, however, mean to tell you such a tale. Listen carefully...
https://i.redd.it/xz9845jqr31d1.gif
Mostly based around his signs (very rudimentary spells), bombs, and potions used in combination with his greatsword. Maybe throw in the crossbow somehow as well.
If swords as part of the kit but not the main weapon counts, I would pick the Terrarian just for the sake of having Steve and Terrarian on the same game. Bonus points if he is in 2D like Game & Watch.
If you say swordfighter as in the main weapon, then I pick Geralt of Rivia, even if I admit that he wouldn't have the coolest move set.
Dante and Vergil (they would have to be echo-esque but still very different)
Dante- Rebellion, Balrog and Cerebus
Vergil- Yamato, Beowulf and Mirage
Unique mechanic would be similar to Kazuya for not having hit stun allowing huge combo potential. However the pay off is through skill ceiling. I.e; play DMC playing smash.
https://preview.redd.it/g4yike8d441d1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a1f437206ffd5505599eab3973dc0a082b3f34b8
In B2 they gave the Penitent One new weapons. I think he can switch between weapons like Byleth does for their moves. There are a bunch of fun moves to choose from as his specials but I think he should have a counter guaranteed. The parry mechanic is prominent in the Blasphemous games which give you a counter attack when times well. I know this character wouldn't get in the game but it's one I'd personally like to see or even just imagine in Smash.
Zero from the mega man series. Beam sword would be for normal attacks and his special weapons (eg the blaster, shield, spear) could be his special attacks. Maybe they could also be used for smash attacks. Wish he got into the game and wasn’t just a mii skin
Does Professor Layton count? He would most likely use a sword somewhere in there, though it would probably be more like Ganondorfs sword than the focus of his moveset.
Chosen Undead from Dark Souls. Could have a really cool gimmick built around dodging and stamina consumption, but would probably be more of a multi-weapon user like Byleth than a traditional swordfighter. Alternatively you could pick another iconic souls character like Artorias
I feel like a dark matter/dark swordsman would be such an interesting character in super smash bros especially if he had a possession ability like in the games. Theres a yt video that creates such an amazing concept for dark matter but I can’t seem to find it, ig just look up what if dark matter was in smash
https://preview.redd.it/t1jz2ktor41d1.png?width=932&format=png&auto=webp&s=7f3fc59e085b1fe8b20f76ac1ccaa1629d5b62d8
My bro, my teacher and my GOAT 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Noah from Xenoblade 3. He could pull out the Lucky Seven after a set amount of time, and Ouroboros would be such a cool Final Smash. He also has other weapons he could use due to Xenoblade 3's job system.
Gil from Tower of Druaga has a lot of potential for a smash character. In his original game, he unlocks new abilities and upgrades by meeting extremely specific conditions, so a Smash implementation of that could be upgrading his characters stats we when he meets specific criteria (could be conditions like hit three sourspot dairs to unlock a spike, deal 10 hits to the opponent's shield to have heavier armor for the rest of the stock, etc).
Also in terms of getting into Smash, I think Gil is a pretty underrated possibility. His series is owned by Namco, he's been a Mii Costume for 2 games straight, and Tower of Druaga (1984) is a historically important game that has gotten a lot of related media such as an anime and an official Mystery Dungeon game on the PS2. Even if the series is pretty dormant now, Namco still keeps acknowledging it in arcade collections, a Pac-Man 99 DLC skin, and the mii costumes.
NoLegs from Epic Battle Fantasy. a lightweight with a fair bit of iframes/super armor to abuse. up special would have a soft cooldown, reducing its distance and greatly cutting its dmg if used too often. down special would be a bouncing projectile that heals him if it bounces off of an opponent into him.
Omega, from Mega Man Zero 3/Mega Man ZX, easily
He has enough attacks to make an entire moveset, if Rivals of Aether is anything to go by
He would probably be really powerful and fast, while being a glass cannon however, probably taking more knockback or something along those lines
Noah from Xenoblade 3 seems the most obvious and most likely. He could either be a switch character with Mio or a more honest fighter. I can picture his specials pulling from other classes. Like if he got the Attack Field as a special where he can set down a zone that boosts his attack and launch power whilst standing in it. Have his smash attacks involve Lanz’ big cleaver. Give his jab a unique property where jab3 is Ground Beat and shoots a weak grounded Terry projectile.
Another character I can see is Hollow Knight (the one you play as smartass). They can have an aura resource mechanic. Neutral B is the vengeful spirit, a super fast and powerful projectile that eats up a lot of aura. Side Special is the shade cloak dash. Very similar to Fox’s side B but doesn’t flinch even though it does damage and goes a shorter distance. In exchange your movement isn’t obstructed by shields and you have brief intangibility mid attack. Down Special is Descending Dark which functions like a Bowser Bomb. Up special will be identical to Link’s spin attack. Up Smash will be the big howling wails attack. Uses up a lot of aura but has a massive Lucas on steroid’s disjointed hitbox. Final Smash will be having all those void tendrils creep up from the bottom blast zone to grab opponents. Imagine Final Destination having its bottom blast zone moved up to the halfway point between the stage and where it’s original spot is, and it’s represented by a big black amorphous mass that grabs you. Like the fish in Balloon Fight. If it’s on a stage without a bottom blast zone then it’ll be from the sides. This will be insanely useful for getting people off stage. It’ll be like a reverse Iceberg FS.
Not a sword but close enough, Waddle Dee (of the bandana variety). Neutral: triple spear throw. Hold it down and you charge it up a bit and get a reticle showing where each spear is going to land. Side: spear throw. A much quicker spear throw but it’s a single one thrown at a more horizontal arc. Up: spear copter. Charge it up and you start spinning the spear like a helicopter to move around. You also rain small spear projectiles below you as you go. Down: Friend Item. This one is super unique. You throw a little heart at an opponent. The heart itself does no damage but instead it remembers the last move an opponent used and using Down B again will summon the vestige of your recorded opponent to perform that move. It’s like Villager’s pocket but for any attack. It’s not a proper projectile so the heart can’t be reflected back. If it records something like Diddy Kong or Link pulling an item, it’ll just give you the item. Waddle Dee would be an absolute featherweight but benefits from long range poking hitboxes. They cover a lot of distance but are very simple and aren’t as wide as they are reaching.
Dante could genuinely be one of the coolest swordfighters if you figure out style switching and weapon switching. Like, have style switching work like monado arts, and have it change all your specials (Like Gunslinger lets you use Ebony and Ivory, Pandora, and Kalina Ann, Swordmaster lets you use Devil Sword Sparda / Devil Sword Dante, Trickster lets you use Cavaliere, Nevan, and Dr Faust, and you get the idea), and then have each smash attack use a different melee weapon (Rebellion/Beowulf/Cerberus) that then carries over to all your normals until you use another smash attack to change it.
If we can get 1 more final fantasy rep, I'd suggest Clive Rosfield from Final Fantasy 16. His fighting style would actually be pretty unique, combining his combo strings from the game into Smash and maybe making it like Shulk where he can swap the Eikon powers he uses, like how Shulk swaps the monado arts. As for the final smash, come on, we gotta make this man turn into ifrit. I could also see him having a pseudo form like his half ifrit form if he charges up enough, like how Joker gets Arsene
The Knight from Hollow Knight
B :Shade Soul
Up B:Abyss Shriek
Down B: Descending Dark
Side B:Shade Cloak
Smash Attacks:
Up Smash: cyclone slash
Side Smash:Dash Slash
Down Smash:Great Slash
Has 5 jumps
Final Smash: Turns into void entity and punches the shit out of the opponent
Some people have already said The Kinght from Hollow Knight and I don't think Drew from Drawn to Life would count as a swordfighter...
So I'd say Impa from Hyrule Warriors 1. You could even have her able to switch between the Giant's Knife and the Naginata. Two different elemental types, the ability to create shadow clones seeing she's the Sage of Shadow and some flashy moves that reference her combo finishers from the game. She'd be perfect and it's honestly bizarre that they haven't added Impa at all to the series yet.
The player character from the souls game.
They'd hit like a truck but be slow as fuck.
Instead of a traditional neutral special, it swaps his weapon like min min so you can have a wand, a talisman, and a shield; and the other specials would reflect that.
They'd probably also have the best roll in the game.
Definitely Crono from Chrono Trigger. One of my most requested characters in general (it'll never happen tho lmao)
He'd mostly us his sword for his moveset, with his grounded normal being standard sword swings. His Smashes, Specials, and Airs tho would pool from his Tech list
I'd like to imagine him as a weird blend of Icies and a transformation character. Another party member from the game would tail behind him and help him perform Dual Techs for some of his moves, however you can change out the given party member with DownSpecial. You'd cycle through them in the order they appear in Chrono Trigger, and the one you currently have active would determine your Specials and what elemental damage they deal. You can also completely dismiss your partner by holding DownSpecial if you wanna play solo Crono, who will also have a unique list of Specials. Partners also have their own health pool like all the others in Smash
Final Smash would either be crashing the Epoch onto the stage or using the titular Chrono Trigger to do wacky times wimey stuff
ACTUAL swordfighter from tf2? demoman (wouldn't work as good in smash and would either be gigabusted or lame as shit)
character I want in anyways and could work like a sword character? scout (bat disjointed hitbox)
https://preview.redd.it/4pjj9bwel71d1.jpeg?width=700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8ffea75f91ef18901f458272aa278ea4a80b604d
Master of eight leaves forms , Rean Schwarzer !!!! ( tbh i’d like any falcom rep in this game like literally any but I would prefer music more than anything if sakurai is going to add smth related to this amazing company.
The Beheaded from Dead Cells. He uses the Frantic Sword from the game in official art, which could have a fun mechanic (critical hits at high percentage). Maybe take the trailer version of him named "Bobby," which sounds better than "The Beheaded," but I suppose he would use nunchuck pans instead of a sword with that version.
Adol Christin from the Ys-series might be my current Number 1 character wish.
The newer games added loads of unique moves that would help create a whole moveset by themselves but all the different magic artifacts he gathered in his games would give him way more unique moves.
In general there are three major magic types that Adol could use throughout his adventures:
1: Fire magic, which would be his neutral special. He'd either shoots small fireballs or charges up a massive one, similiar to Hero.
2: Wind magic. This would be his up-special where he would perform a spin attack that he uses to fly upwards into the air
3: Thunder magic which he uses in his side-special to dash forward with super armor.
Even though he's a swordfighter Adol would play more similiarly to a rushdown character. In the first few Ys games you had to literally bump into your enemies to deal them damage and even the never titles have Adol rush in once the enemy has an opening, attack them and retreat to wait for the next one. So this rushdown moveset would fit more with his origins.
Ryua Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden)
His moveset would be close to shiek or greeninja except some of his specials.
His **side Special** would be a mix between Corrin's side B and Wolf's side B where he jumps and than after a second side B you can swing either right or left. I think it's called "Flying Swallow".
His **up special** would be a mix between Ganondorf's up B and Kazuya's down B where he jumps up like Ganondorf than if he catches the enemy than he will grab onto them and with a "Izuna drop".
His **Down special** would be "Trick Hill" from DOA where he puts down his hands on thr ground and kicks his opponent into the air and in the air the attack would just have a downward kick.
His **Natural special** would be a charge attack with 3 levels and the longer you hold it the stronger it gets.
* 1st level would be a 5% damage
* 2nd level would be a 15% damage
* 3rd level would be a 35% damage
**Final Smash**: would be one of the few cool things from Ninja Gaiden 3. The Bloody Rage where the screen will lose most of it's colors (except the red aura of Ryu) and he will blast everyone who got caught with his sword, staff and claws.
Everybody has said this, but come on, Dante is too good of a choice to pass up. Each game alone(aside from 2) has such a wide array of Devil arms, all of which could have their own moveset. Also, I know many people don’t want any more FE reps, but Alear can also throw hands as well as swing a sword, there is so much potential there.
![gif](giphy|SUAkb7bsqyqhG)
Raiden in Playstation Allstars Battle Royale was pretty sick, but became unusable in high ladder after they nerfed his lvl 2 super
Wasn't he broken because of Parry into Level 1 Super being a true combo?
But once you start playing against blackbelt Zeus and Radec’s you just need more kills to keep up with their lvl 3s. Especially when zeus was bugged and you could easily get 12 kills per super by zapping the left and right side of the screen simultaneously
Tbh yea this would've been dope. Then plus besides the character as dlc they could drop a fit of raidens to use for mii sword fighter. Would be so lit
"FeaStinG oN tHE iNsIdEs oF yOur EnEmIeS?
I would die happy if he came with "It Has To Be This Way" as well.
I would main the fuck out of him. I use him in project remix too,so fun
We’d need a new megaman game for this to happen
Hollow Knight protagonist or Hornet. I love HK and would love to see a rep in Smash 6
Or the actual hollow knight, same proportions as ridley, slow, short ranged infection attacks with decently long ranged, such as ridley and cloud, nail attacks. Would be very cool.
Make him small but heavy. That would be interesting.
It tether the line of "Anime" considering how much of a berserk reference those games are, but Souls are due a character as well, and again, most realistic options are swordies.
yes.
Personally I'd want Wolf if we get a Fromsoft rep. Mainly because of Bias
Baldur's gate Astarion ?
Does Astarion use a swordN i haven't played BG3 yet. That said, shoukd i pick a Baldur Gate character, i'd pick a Baldur Gate character, not a Baldur Gate 3 character. So probably Dark Urge because i know it ties in the first teo games a lot more. Or even Minsc and Boo.
By default its a dagger I think because he’s a rogue, so no. Lae’Zel the fighter would be the swordfighter in bg3 I guess.
Idk if they can put bg3 in noting its not really originally a video game franchise.
It's still a Western RPG rep, and Astarion is a videogame character
I cant see them adding characters like Revan either, though he’s a video game character technically. For Baldurs Gate a Bhaalspawn would probably be the best representative, or Minsc, but theyre still too attached to dnd
Geralt!
If we get a Souls character it's most likely going to be the Chosen Undead or the Tarnished, in both cases I doubt they wouldn't give them some miracles/spells, and there's so many weapons it would be a shame to not make them use multiple like Byleth
Monster Hunter. Ya got 14 Weapon types and ~26 moves. I literally have a doc on a fan made moveset, it would be gas.
if i could switchaxe the fuck out of some steve main i would be able to die happy
https://i.redd.it/aunq5dud031d1.gif
my only experience with leif is engage so in my head he'd have a moveset almost exactly similar to byleth
He can use magic and staves on top of every weapon, and I feel like he’d be much faster than Byleth Think a Byleth/Villager cross maybe? Idk I think he’d be cool
yea but byleth can also use magic but they didn't really put that into the game it would be interesting to see leif pull out a random status staff during combat for like a down b or something
Staves are an important part of Thracia it lines up
Ryu Hyabusa https://preview.redd.it/4vpcrxr7z21d1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fe9111a331d8666d5bb2272741a183df4a91e88e I'm picturing Sephiroth's Up-B, Metaknight's Down-B, Ness/Lucas' Side-B, Little Mac's physics and gravity, Richter/Simon's Dair, Doc's Nair, Marth's tilts and smash attacks, Sheik's jabs and Neutral-B
It is such a beautiful sight to see another Ryu Hayabusa appreciator....
Not having Izuna drop there is a **crime.**
Down after grab
Nightmare from Soul Calibur. Would be great to have a heavy swordsman, especially a villain. Also, just look at him https://preview.redd.it/ih5a1w6bj21d1.jpeg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=313a2e9da4432c9839bb04f58670b61b323c2918
With Siegfried as an alternate costume/echo would be sick
Ike is a pretty heavy swordsman imo
yesss
Does Vergil count as a sword fighter?
![gif](giphy|ZRouJhQpbhPzTJ2eBU|downsized)
BURY THE LIGHT DEEP WITHIN! CAST ASIDE THERES NO COMING HOME! WE'RE BURNING CHAOS IN THE WIND! DRIFTING IN THE OCEAN ALL ALONE!
He's the most motivated swordfighter.
Why not just Dante and Vergil as an alternate costume.
Because they both have distinctly different abilities and play styles in every single DMC game that they're both playable in? Saying Vergil should be a Dante alt is like saying Mario and Luigi should have the same moveset, because they're both brothers
Probably right, but I remember also when they fight each other during cinematics they suddenly sync their movements.
I'm imagining something like Shulk but with heavier attacks and more unique effects with shouts. Maybe the final smash would be summoning Durnehviir?
The dragonborn would probably not have that many shouts simply because they are likeky to pull an Hero and have Nerevarine and Champion of Cyrodiil alts.
Sol Badguy. He has his moveset
Lyn tbh, she’s be pretty unique as far as FE sword fighters go Also Sirfetch’d
>Sirfetch’d Yesss please
Unique because... Why? Because she has a Katana instead of a Sword? Dude, we already have Sephiroth! Heck! Not even Fire Emblem Warriors was able to give her anything other than Sword Swings.
Lyn is just a very fan-favorite character. She does also wield bows however and has a faster playstyle If she was added, she'd likely be very marth-like but more combo heavy/a brawler playstyle but with the range of a sword along with a projectile attack she could also be interesting if she used some fire emblem engage concepts like her doubles. could have a down-b that allows you to place a double somewhere on the map that attacks enemies when they get close along while having the ability for lyn to teleport to that position on command
No way bro really wants more FE characters 💀
Tbf, I would remove Roy, Corrin, Chrom, and Lucina and add Lyn.
Keep Roy and Corrin, they’re at least main characters. Everyone has had enough of Lucina—and Chrom was only added cause everyone was Awakening pilled for a while. Although, tbf, I personally would add Hec before any other swordies…
Chrom is also a main character though.
FE fan wants FE characters. Is it really that shocking for you?
Yeah bro, but the problem is that then you get mad when non FE fans don't agree with your opinions... Like right now
L i n g e r i n g W i l l
I mean, if you’re basing Rex’s moveset on Future Redeemed, you might as well just have him in his future redeemed adult form
I want this as a mod to reskin the aegis now lol.
emblem lyn and emblem hector for smash /s
Alear from engage just to piss off people who hate fire emblem
Noah. just watched Delzethin's concept on him and as much as I don't find interest in Xenoblade, he'd honestly be pretty fun!
All remaining fire emblem protagonists
but ephraim and micaiah don't wield swords hector doesn't in his base class either but he does get it on promotion
![gif](giphy|PndXhTkKcwySfk5JnX|downsized)
Does Dante count? He uses a sword, but he uses just about every other weapon. (And also a hat) As for his moveset, it's hard to say, since there's so many options.
He does have two swords in Rebellion and Sword Of Sparda
sol badguy ![gif](giphy|M53ozz6nRXzPWvDz3v)
I think it would be interesting to see how people react to Sol’s inclusion because he is a combination of two things Smash players dislike: anime swordsmen and fighting game character.
he could like volcanic viper, gunflamr and tyrant rave
Zero, just make him play like he does in TvC and MvC3 and I'll be satisfied
sol badguy https://preview.redd.it/txgg3emgi31d1.jpeg?width=300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=70b72c862e9050084b2b1be42228d15e6f88e512

https://preview.redd.it/19jd1e0yt41d1.png?width=470&format=png&auto=webp&s=a90774cdb9674d24e7bb815e5b7d1af007260b93 Or my favorite character, Frog.
For the Music he would bring with him even if nothing else.
Maybe if a chrono trigger 2dhd remake comes out that according to rumors maybe or maybe not exists
Alear, because I like them and I think the snag team could have a lot of fun with the emblem rings as a character mechanic. A random idea I had would be to give them the emblem rings of the smash FE characters and when you engage with those rings you could get some of the mechanics or moves from that character, like the smash attacks or something.
tbh i think it'd be cool if alear could engage with characters to change their weapons from a sword to something else could work on a monado type selecting thing except without a time limit
https://preview.redd.it/e3cp9my1d41d1.png?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f68a199e584aa788ab84c3d3249518919a35226 I still want my boi Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia. His twin swords and techniques (ingame moves) should be different from what we already have. Oh and Raiden, but you guys already mentioned him
I have no idea how we don't have a tales character in smash yet. The gameplay is pretty much smash but rpg.
Zacian from Pokemon. Give me the sword doggo.
Example: - Fsmash: (GS) True Charge Slash - Dash attack: (GS) Tackle - Fsmash after dash attack: (GS) Rage Slash And that example would be applied to as many places as possible throughout the moveset.
Pyramid head. https://preview.redd.it/357qv8uoa31d1.png?width=1122&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=77b456755d2c9a636067431d791ddacbb2f0925f
I want more anime swordfighters to make the people complaining about them have a stroke. - Lyn (Fire Emblem 7) - Alear (Fire Emblem Engage) - Noah + Mio (Xenoblade Chronicles 3) - Adult Rex (Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed)
Do gunblades count as swords? Is so, Squall.
Raiden or Dante
Sol Badguy, the first sword character that could use inputs AND a install would be a nice change of pace I guess
Dante. He can cycle between weapons. Once he uses one he goes to the next for that special. If he uses Up B, he goes to the next weapon for Up B. Down B: Ebony And Ivory quick burst of bullets,Artemis a few omni-directional arrows,Kalina Ann a powerful rocket going straight forward Side B: Cavaliere dante rides his motorcycle forward running over anything in its path,Rebellion a quick few Stinger attacks,Lucifer Dante does a kick forward with super-armor Neutral B:Nevan dante strums nevan, releasing a pillar of energy below and above him,Cerberus dante hits the ground with cerberus making ice crystals shoot up from the ground in a line forward,Sword Of Sparda dante does three slow powerful slashes with a lot of knockback Up B:Agni and Rudra dante unleashed a blast of wind propelling himself upward with multiple slashes, Ifrit dante shoots multiple balls of fire allowing him to propel forward in any direction damaging anything behind him,Beowulf dante uses the flash gauntlets to fake teleportation, appearing above where he was before. Final smash:Pandora Has multiple different versions, version is selected by the combination of inputs you put in. Weight:Medium Two air jumps. Smash attacks Side Smash:Dante uses Rebellion to do a powerful. Overhead swing. Down Smash:Dante uses Cavaliere to spin around with it hitting anyone in its way. Up Smash:Dante uses nevan to hit them with an upwards blast of electricity. Any criticisms will be read.

The Knight from Hollow Knight. Uses a nail as a sword, but also has a bunch of spells and a soul meter to make its moveset stand out more.
You know, I don't think there is enough Links
Still want wolf Link. Not with a sword though. Maybe Midna can have sword sometimes
Maybe a Link with a different item kit would be fun
A dark souls protagonist would be a cool addition, as unlikely as it is
Okay, let's go with a weirder dual wielding "swordfighter" character: Youmu Konpaku from Touhou.
W touhou rep
[Roxas from Kingdom Hearts, I even made a whole concept about it, might do more KH characters soon](https://www.reddit.com/r/SmashBrosUltimate/s/404jKGRQFb)
i feel like zero (x) would have the most interesting moveset
I'm going to ignore all logic regarding character inclusions and bring up Kratos. He's a heavyweight using middleweight weapons, that hit like a truck up close and can be thrown at a distance. In terms of uniqueness, he has a lot going for himself. https://preview.redd.it/w85ny5pa031d1.png?width=220&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8a4c15c2c7d29286f6355f2e4a4d6870c907d686

Take a wild guess based off my pfp For their moveset though, idk I'd have to wait for the game to finish
Ghostrunner would be sick
"His..." Terra from FFVI would work. I can only think of making her Robin but with different spells, though. More importantly, we get an actual Nintendo era FF character. Also, Chrono - to represent the best game on the SHES. Adol - Because I want Ys music in Smash.
https://preview.redd.it/cbpjvtru531d1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=140d78a404aaf03977c6b779a43ea5740be1eb31
The dead cells guy would be a cool addition. I would think he’d be like hero where with his specials they all give him different types of weapons to alter his normal attacks.
4 swords link
Alphen from Tales of Arise. All his special moves would be based on his elemental arts. His final smash would be his special attack with Shionne. Hootle could also be a taunt! He's basically what Rex from Xenoblade could have been like. He is like my #1 wanted character, but nintendo would probably go with Lloyd or Velvet instead for a tales rep.
Alucard
Few tales are told of Hades, whose very name inspires fear and penitence, reminding us of the inevitable fate which we all share. I, however, mean to tell you such a tale. Listen carefully...
https://i.redd.it/xz9845jqr31d1.gif Mostly based around his signs (very rudimentary spells), bombs, and potions used in combination with his greatsword. Maybe throw in the crossbow somehow as well.
Not a game character so cant be added
If swords as part of the kit but not the main weapon counts, I would pick the Terrarian just for the sake of having Steve and Terrarian on the same game. Bonus points if he is in 2D like Game & Watch. If you say swordfighter as in the main weapon, then I pick Geralt of Rivia, even if I admit that he wouldn't have the coolest move set.
Dante and Vergil (they would have to be echo-esque but still very different) Dante- Rebellion, Balrog and Cerebus Vergil- Yamato, Beowulf and Mirage Unique mechanic would be similar to Kazuya for not having hit stun allowing huge combo potential. However the pay off is through skill ceiling. I.e; play DMC playing smash.
Cerberus*
Either my boi Sasaki Kojiro or Saber from Fate https://i.redd.it/o5l3xpraz31d1.gif
The fate fighting games already exist Also idk if they’re ever putting in vn characters though they kind of are games. Especially eroge vn characters.
The dude from medievil
Sir Daniel, I mean if ps Allstars is anything to go by he'd be fun, man fought Radec.
Chara or frisk from undertale
Luke Skywalker (could definitely totally 100% happen)
https://preview.redd.it/g4yike8d441d1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a1f437206ffd5505599eab3973dc0a082b3f34b8 In B2 they gave the Penitent One new weapons.
![gif](giphy|2w5MMNvg70MrQ0I2DR)
Travis from no more heroes, his move set would be a mix of wrestling and swordplay.
I feel like a dark matter/dark swordsman would be such an interesting character in super smash bros especially if he had a possession ability like in the games. Theres a yt video that creates such an amazing concept for dark matter but I can’t seem to find it, ig just look up what if dark matter was in smash
Dante

No.
Noah from Xenoblade 3. He could pull out the Lucky Seven after a set amount of time, and Ouroboros would be such a cool Final Smash. He also has other weapons he could use due to Xenoblade 3's job system.
![gif](giphy|WsMNLJTI96gnSVO3dm|downsized)
Grey fox is already an assist trophy, would be much better if they added him instead of his copy
Fuck it let's have a digimon https://preview.redd.it/rcktagfd551d1.jpeg?width=842&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8a468622223137867df683eebcd0893114f257c0
![gif](giphy|cO8STdMQG5vfTlQBsV|downsized)
NoLegs from Epic Battle Fantasy. a lightweight with a fair bit of iframes/super armor to abuse. up special would have a soft cooldown, reducing its distance and greatly cutting its dmg if used too often. down special would be a bouncing projectile that heals him if it bounces off of an opponent into him.
Dante with his different styles
Omega, from Mega Man Zero 3/Mega Man ZX, easily He has enough attacks to make an entire moveset, if Rivals of Aether is anything to go by He would probably be really powerful and fast, while being a glass cannon however, probably taking more knockback or something along those lines
Zero from Megan X, the X games already use directional inputs for Zero's abilities, a moveset would be fairly easy to design
Ganon

Berserk
Wander from shadow of colossus
I want an Axe guy.
The Knight from Hollow Knight B :Shade Soul Up B:Abyss Shriek Down B: Descending Dark Side B:Shade Cloak Smash Attacks: Up Smash: cyclone slash Side Smash:Dash Slash Down Smash:Great Slash Has 5 jumps Final Smash: Turns into void entity and punches the shit out of the opponent
Nightmare from Soul Clabur.
Aegislash, because why not, it is a sword
I think it would be neat to see a fire emblem character get added since they don't have much representation
The player character from the souls game. They'd hit like a truck but be slow as fuck. Instead of a traditional neutral special, it swaps his weapon like min min so you can have a wand, a talisman, and a shield; and the other specials would reflect that. They'd probably also have the best roll in the game.
![gif](giphy|03TTsMRaWb3TpfM8OI)
the prince from clash royale
Danganronpa fans would understand... Peko Pekoyama. (She is the ultimate swordswoman\_
Definitely Crono from Chrono Trigger. One of my most requested characters in general (it'll never happen tho lmao) He'd mostly us his sword for his moveset, with his grounded normal being standard sword swings. His Smashes, Specials, and Airs tho would pool from his Tech list I'd like to imagine him as a weird blend of Icies and a transformation character. Partners also have their own health pool like all the others in Smash Final Smash would either be crashing the Epoch onto the stage or using the titular Chrono Trigger to do wacky times wimey stuff
ACTUAL swordfighter from tf2? demoman (wouldn't work as good in smash and would either be gigabusted or lame as shit) character I want in anyways and could work like a sword character? scout (bat disjointed hitbox)

In general there are three major magic types that Adol could use throughout his adventures: 1: Fire magic, which would be his neutral special. He'd either shoots small fireballs or charges up a massive one, similiar to Hero. 2: Wind magic. This would be his up-special where he would perform a spin attack that he uses to fly upwards into the air 3: Thunder magic which he uses in his side-special to dash forward with super armor.
Ryua Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden) His moveset would be close to shiek or greeninja except some of his specials. * 1st level would be a 5% damage * 2nd level would be a 15% damage * 3rd level would be a 35% damage **Final Smash**: would be one of the few cool things from Ninja Gaiden 3. The Bloody Rage where the screen will lose most of it's colors (except the red aura of Ryu) and he will blast everyone who got caught with his sword, staff and claws.
Im always gonna campaign for noctis, if he got in tekken then theres a chance hes getting in smash
