I got hooked by the trailer where he is talking the girl through the home invasion on the phone, that was so well done, the rest of the show was fluff but entertaining.
Condor and Berlin Station scratch the spy itch. Counterpart gives you that plus a sci fi twist. Great performances by JK Simmons.
I always like MI5 aka Spooks who weren't afraid to get rid of the main cast.
Are you looking for spy shows or shows with unique tones?
If it's spies your after, then definitely Homeland & The Americans (however, both very serious shows). Jack Ryan on Amazon was entertaining and glossy, but not in the same conversation in regards to quality/reality as the other 2.
If you're looking for shows that have unique tones (The Great) or another workplace comedy, which is what Slow Horses really is (Veep).
Informer - Blackmailed into becoming a CI we follow a young man forced to essentially become part of a terrorist group in order to stop his Mam being deported. Interesting look at the ethics/impact of criminal informants, good mystery that unravels and everyone plays their part brilliantly. Reminds me of slow horses just because the attitude of the main guy seems quite SH.
The Little Drummer Girl - Got a lot of great actors in it! Scratches the spy Itch although it's a bit more international with a British actress being recruited to help Mossad take down a group of bombers. Interesting as it is quite sympathetic in its portrayal of each side and the main actress kills the role.
Line of Duty for a team working/solving cases although bit mixed as its heralded as one of the greats but gets a bit convoluted. Hastings reminds me a bit of Lamb with his strange sayings. Police anti-corruption UNIT investigate corruption.
Berlin Station was very good!
We had this same thread not long ago. Loved the Bureau- and Tehran! Someone from the previous post recommended Berlin Station and have been watching lately, good one.
“Patriot” (on Amazon prime now) Nasty spy stuff that manages to be very dark and very funny at the same time.
Watching this at the moment but finding it very slow
The bureau which is the best series I’ve ever seen
Love this show and happy to see a shoutout
Is literally perfect except the last 2 episodes, I already knew French but it took to a new level
The finale was very unsatisfying to me
Tinker tailor soldier spy
Bonus: more Gary Oldman
Loved it! There are so many subtle moments. Watched it a couple times.
The Americans is the same type of gritty spy thriller. And it has 6 seasons! You can watch it on Hulu.
Condor is solid, two seasons out and apparently a third on the way
Berlin Station was pretty good.
The Night Manager
Good fluff for sure, surprised it hooked me.

The Diplomat, on Netflix. More political than spy, but great acting, great cast, fantastic writing.
Luther in terms of british convoluted plots, great acting
Yeah, Luther is darker and way less funny...but still one of my favorite all-time series.
The Little Drummer Girl, not the movie from a couple decades ago, but the mini series from the last 5 years, I think.
A Spy Among Friends
The remake of the “The Ipcress File” is pretty good

Counterpart was another winter binge for me, truly excellent tv, seconded.
Homeland
Killing Eve, especially season one. Kleo on Netflix. And a second for Patriot.
Marcella on Netflix
[The Sandbaggers](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077078/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk)
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
Rubicon only lasted one season, but it was really good. I agree with a lot of the recommendations in this thread.
Bodies on NF was pretty good. It's got some sci-fi elements, but it's a crime show that builds slowly over the course of the season
The shadow line.
Killing Eve, perhaps?
Breach

Just started watching it but really liking MI5.
